Thanks for the Saucony Hurricane 24 review Edd. It’ll give me something to think about. Still looking forward getting the updated Tempus 2’s when they come out.
My guess is that the revival of the Hurricane coincides with the demise of the Shift which had been a favorite for me. I’ll check the Hurricane out. Thanks for sharing!
The first shoe I bought when beginning my getting back to running / fitness journey was the Hurricane 10. I think I’ve still got those somewhere in a the garage as they rotated to yard shoes many years ago. It’s probably time to dig those out and put them in the recycling bin at my local shop.
I grabbed some discounted Triumph 21s from Sportshoes for just under £100 as a recovery/daily easy miler and have been super impressed with the fit and feel having come across from Nike.
“Built for purpose “, is the key. Other reviewers seem to miss that point. It’s almost like they compare every shoe back to one set of criteria. That criteria needs to change based upon the manufacturer’s intent. We shouldn’t expect a recovery shoe to be responsive, for example. Just figure out the shoe’s niche and judge from there. Good reviews!
Hope your well edd Absolutely love the hurricane 24 edd definitely will get pair off them im running 10 marathons in 10 days next week it take me to 149 officiall marathons 🙂🙂🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♂️👍
The bottom of the Hurricane 24 was wider than that of the Triumph 22. However, the toe area was narrow Even though I wore a shoe size that was +15mm from my actual foot length, it was still a little difficult. I wish there was a 4E for the width of the foot.
You mentioned the tongue slide... It's crazy, I have the same problem with these shoes. I've worn them for several runs now and every time, no matter what I do to try to keep it in place, the tongue slides on my left foot. I've never had that problem with other shoes. Anyway, still love these shoes for easy runs when I want to pamper my beat-up legs.
10:53 Hey Edd, I hope you don't mind me commenting on this shoe. I brought this recently and was over the moon that Saucony had re-released the shoe for 24. I was never happier then when I had my previous Saucony hurricanes on and could run miles. Anyway, to the point. I ran in these for about approximately 15 runs, each about ten miles, and all the time my legs got worse and worse. The long and short of it is, is this trainer and it's new design brought on shin splints for me? I want others to know, be careful. Having maximum support and Marshmallow padding does not always equal, pure comfort. Be careful, and don't consider these the exact hurricanes they once were...
I have the Tempus and I'm loving them at the moment but they have got a fair few miles on them. I love the pro and the speed for race days. I may need to upgrade my tempus soon so interested in the hurricane. Also looking at the latest Brooks Max range, what do you think?
Looking for a replacement for my Saucony Triumph 20, not keen on the Triumph 22 as it's apparently harder and not very responsive, need a soft/comfortable recovery shoe and this one seems to be a perfect choice!
Hey, currently have a setup the Ride 17s for my everyday trainers & Kinvara Pros for my fast day/race day shoes. Looking to add 1 more shoe into my lineup. Would you recommend the Hurricane 24s for this lineup and how would you utilize the 3 shoes for your different training? 5'10" 175 lbs with fallen arches.
Do you think this would be good to pair with the Endorphin Speed 4? I was thinking to use the Hurricane as a daily trainer / recovery option and the Endorphin for going fast / long.
@@EDDBUD i ran in speed 3 for few months n it was fine, i got speed 4 and i dont know whats wrong but my legs feel heavy and some sort of discomfort all around ankles, i dont know whats changed which is casuing this
I don't understand the point of centimeter thick heel collar padding - and sometimes tongues that seem nearly as thick. Other reviewers go on about "plushness" (plush is a word I'd banish from shoe reviews if I count). For comfort the only thing that matters is the layer that touches your foot - how that fits and is supported. There are much lighter ways to provide structure than making than a thick layer of padding which is just a heat and moisture magnet. Some of my most comfortable shoes have thin tongues and heel collars.
@@EDDBUD I wasn't intending this as a criticism of your review here. I just fail to see what benefit there is to thick layers in uppers - other than perhaps to hide otherwise poor design.
It's been warm the past few days, but I can feel a miracle coming 🌧
Know anyone with some lead?
@@EDDBUD 😂
That was quick!
Enjoy!
I have the Triumph 22 and wish that I had gone for the Hurricane instead. Oh well. I still get to run.
I have both. Triumph is better for uptempo. Hurricane is more for easy runs. They are different enough to make a rotation out of them.
real

Man i think you should try the Tempus at some point.
Hi. I'm a neutral runner, but the Like to EDDBUD. A nice weekend for everyone.
Thanks for tuning in

The Hurricane that I remember are the Adidas Hurricane OG from the 70's.. my first ever sneaker when I was a kid.
Can't wait for the 100 miles review
Nice. 🎉
🥈
Good review as always Edd. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Loving these so far. Like hitting a cruise control switch in a car and going for a ride. Great for zone 2
Yes I found that too. Ideal for those easier / longer runs

Good review…
Good point about the plethora of shoes. Puma probably has the most rational product line.
Yes everything in its right place!

Saucony with an impressive product line of late
Great review as always.
Monsieur with these reviews you are really spoiling us :)
Glad you enjoyed it

Yeah it’s a daily cruiser and a lifestyle type shoe by all accounts.

It’s the type of shoe that will help with that no end!
@@EDDBUD thanks mate yes it be my 3rd 10 in 10 I'm using my brooks Glycerin GTS 21s I've really enjoyed using them this year 🙂👍

I think there’s wide versions coming. It’s these tapers on the toebox. Really extreme.

Update: problem solved when I don't do the runner's knot.
I love my Tempus, hoping V2 doesn't take it in a completely different direction. The Hurricane 24 has me somewhat interested.
In ya eye algorithm! FIRST THE UPPER!
Yo🎉
🥇
Yikes! Will any new releases get smaller and lighter??
I hope so
@@EDDBUD nonsense everybody is waiting for a 60 mm / 500 grams shoe😂
Need to look at the Hyperion 2 maybe.
T21 vs H24 ⚔️

Found it to be a decent lower range shoe for me. It’s perhaps more towards plush than anything else

Hi Edd. Would you say the Hurricane 24 is better suited to longer runs than the Triumph 22? Another excellent video by the way! 👏🏼
Thanks! Yes better overall from a comfort and enjoyment perspective for me at least. Like the lower drop
@@EDDBUD Thanks Edd. Or should I say, Dankeschon! I appreciate your response.

Yeah you might like this. It’s plush but more like the old triumphs

The hurricane is a good one for easy recovery and long stuff. The ride a bit more versatile maybe
👊🏼🤖‼️
Much appreciated!
Hi Edd, would you say this shoes falls under the same use case as the Nike Invincible?
Yes very much so
Tempus 2 will probably be fast day stability Saucony shoe?
The only running shoe that has ever given me blisters. 😢
Sad to hear that
@@EDDBUD No worries, Edd. The shop let me swap them for a pair of Hoka Mach X and I'm chuffed with them. Always a happy ending 👍
I used H23. In cold days when the foam hardened, i got mildly injured with it
Very different setup this time in the midsole
Hi
🥉
Possible replacement for 1080 v13 when there done.
Gday Ed, how does it compare with the ASICS Kayano 30? Danke 👍
Similar weight. But more squash from the Saucony. Similar vibes. Perhaps the Kayano a little more hollow feeling.
@@EDDBUD cheers for that, im tossing up between these two to replace the Shift 3’s that I find a bit too firm
Do you think this would be good to pair with the Endorphin Speed 4? I was thinking to use the Hurricane as a daily trainer / recovery option and the Endorphin for going fast / long.
Don’t see why not. Perhaps a little hefty for an out and out daily if you were a lighter build like me
earth tongue - nightmare
Edd - which would you choose- Hoka Skyward X vs ASICS Novablast 4 vs Saucony Hurricane 24?
The novablast is a more usable daily shoe. Bit more versatile
@@EDDBUD thanks!!
Can i pick up the pace on Hurricane 24. And has some versatility
More an easy pace shoe for me
😊
Do you know if new saucony shift is coming? Thanks
Think they have abandoned that one sadly
@@EDDBUD i ran in speed 3 for few months n it was fine, i got speed 4 and i dont know whats wrong but my legs feel heavy and some sort of discomfort all around ankles, i dont know whats changed which is casuing this
How does this compare to the Puma forever run nitro is it softer? More stable?
Yes softer though with more of a plush upper
This is the Endorphin Shift replacement.
I miss the shift so much, hope this can match it 🤞
can you recommend long run, low drop training shoe?
Maybe this. It’s drop is lower than most
@@EDDBUD ok; i will try them in store; tnx
Is this what is replacing the endorphin shift series? Also how does it compare to the endorphin shift 3?
Little bit softer. Bit more plushier. The shift was a nice balance.
@@EDDBUD thank you sir
Ed doesn't sound happy about this one !🇿🇦😅
I gave it a great score.
Vs More V5. Which one is more comfortable?
Yet to try the more 5. The hurricane is super comfortable though.
Saucony is very consistent with the ugly colourways. Just bought the tempus and most of the colourways for that also blow chunks.
That forefoot stack is already a heel stack for most shoes already…🤦🏻♂️🤣😂
It’s all gone 40mm

Got to think of others here. It’s not what I perhaps always want but some people like a thicker upper.

357 g? 😮
Yeah about the same as Nike invincible and triumph.
"2 or 3 nice warm days a year ..." 😅
Raining again now!
Too bad about the weight. Running with 3\4 of a pound tied to each foot is not for me. Maybe for lifestyle?
Nah it’s a great shoe. Too much based on weight now.
Yeah maybe I’m asking for too much but I usually pick lighter over heavier.
Saucony “Clifton”…😅
