I am a native of the Pacific Northwest. There is a much quicker way to get the skin of the neck and also you won't waste so much water trying to clean the clam. A pot of boiling water remove clam from shell submerge clam into hot water for approx 6 seconds remove and place immediately into ice cold water now the skin will simply peel of in one motion and the clam is not cooked or damaged from hot water. Slice thinly and enjoy Geoduck sashimi Northwest style i even dig them myself during very low low tides. It's amazing!
