    Handler, Owner, Trainer: Meryl Cohen
    Dog: Marco (Odisseia’s Exhilaration of Victory BH, DJ, DM, BCAT)
    Breeder: Odisseia Cane Corso (Annie Wildmoser)
    Meryl Cohen is a dog trainer and Cane Corso owner. Having owned American Pitbull terriers in the past, Meryl easily transitioned into owner Cane Corso. She bought her dog from longtime Dogumentary TV freind, Annie Wildmoser of Odisseia Cane Corso. Meryl and her dog Marco are a great team, they participate in several sports but mainly IPG and Dock Diving.
    In this video we talk with Meryl about her life and protection dog raining with Marco. I also had the opportunity to film Marco working, this boy is impressive. So take a second and get acquainted with Meryl and Marco.

    Cane corsis and Giant Schnauzers do very well at PPDs and Mal's and Dutchies for IPO/schutzhund I enjoy working Presa Canarios and Dobermans for for home defence/ guard dogs ...Great video working mastiff breeds is a lot different from the shepherds but makes it worth while for a different experience in the dog sport world ...

      I have Corso's and Presa's they are great! I love my babes, but the fiercest, most aggressive protector's I have are my Fila Brasileiro's , they might be too much for most people though

      @@dogs4homeprotection104 wow your lucky I've never met a Fila in person but I've read a lot about them yeah a fila is a force to be reckoned with. Does the breed really have (orijiza) hatred of people ? Would be one of my top choices for a dog for civil work but finding working blood with good temperment plus solid nerves i would have to take some time to talk to breeders for advice on a kennel in the states currently working them for PSA or IPO or just bite work in general

    • @dogs4homeprotection104
      @dogs4homeprotection104 5 лет назад

      Yes , they are fierce and have good nerves. But I don't use the for civil work, only estate guardian. I have many other breeds and I use them for "civil" type work, like protecting me and my truck when I go into town etc. I trust the Fila's to take care of my farm and family. It's true they have ojeriza, they will not tolerate anyone outside the family, even if it's someone they have met before , especially at night or if I'm away. This also means that I absolutely have to kennel them when I have visitors, especially if I leave them alone for a minute or the Fila's will be like sharks waiting for a chance lol on the other hand if I am right there next to the person they will not attack , because they know it will anger me greatly

    I never trained my Cane Corsos (4) but certainly they were my bodyguards, they knew everything about security and never caused any damages to anyone, absolutely hipersensitive and excelent balance temperament wise. My last Cane Corso last 13 1/2 years old ( elbow displasia 😢), but i am very old now and there's no way i could have a Cane Corso again, you must have to be strong and courages. Now i have Sophie my rescue stray dog from México, but CC is all you need, best friends, powerfull ,goofy and cute once in a while. Missed my babies.😔

I love the Cane Corso, I owned and personally trained mine and he was great. They are awesome protectors, Id say one of the best guard dogs you could ever have and they are soo loving and affectionate and responsive to their master. Good job dude, as usual. One thing I'd like to add, whatever camera you are using. It seems to have a very very flat picture profile. Which is great, but try to add a little more contrast in post. I feel these overly faded looks come from how flat certain profiles are. Anyway, you don't have to do that. I just feel it would help in your videos visually.

      The Germans (ADRK) breed the very most sound and and hard Rottweilers.
      The cane corso breed has as of yet to have an organization the perpetuates it as the Rottweiler does. Its a nice dog, but just isn't a Rottweiler.

This is why she has a problem with recall. “ Get over here, you’re a bad dog, bad dog, you know better than that” is not a recall. A Professional trainer would not punish a dog by using a submission position during recall. But I think you’re right that we wish she could do this too, but I believe she wishes as well. (Oh didn’t she say Cane Corso are a stubborn breed? But I guess this lady didn’t get the memo. She also has the same background with pits to corso’s)

Those are real Molossus.This one guy has the famous Black Dragons and specializes in them. His name is Christos I think. Best Molossus line in Greece.

    My Corso is about 20 months now. Awesome breed, but not for everyone. Have to work with them everyday. Solid drive and the guarding instincts were there from the start: ruclips.net/video/n1hOATsXCXA/видео.html

    I own two Cane Corso's and a Rottweiler. They are working dogs with massive muscle. They guard livestock and herd cattle on a week long cattle drive. My Brindle Corso is excelling in schutzhund. Both Corso's weight pull and are advanced in obedience. My Rottweiler is in tracking. I waited until my children were grown and on their own to invest in my dogs. They are an expense from proper fencing to a very healthy diet. They also need to be socialized and trained.
    I absolutely love my dogs. My fearless protectors and guardians.

    I used to own a Cane Corso but I felt you had to train gaurding/didnt have natural protection qualities. Present alone though did well. Now I have Alanais/central asian Shepherds and for home protection it comes very natural for them. Being that my 2 are from two separate breeders shows how well they have a natural instinct to protect. Cane Corso great family dog.

    Zeke love the video. Beautiful dog. Though I’m a APBT owner and in a a year or so I want to get a Presa. I don’t know why, but they’re just beautiful dogs. Don’t get me wrong the Cane Corso’s are also beautiful and powerful, but the Presa is the only other dog that awakens a passion in me. Weird I know. Zeke, I love your channel it’s always very educational. Keep doing the amazing job that you do.

    I dislike that she said she was looking for something with more "aggression" than a Pitbull, like what does she mean by that? Dog aggression? No way any other dog breed is more dog aggressive than the American Pitbull Terrier. Did she mean human aggression? Probably not because of the way she worded it saying "more aggression" and Pitbulls aren't human aggressive, they human friendly. Did she just mean more vigorous but used the word aggression instead? That's what I assume, and even then, the Pitbull is the most vigorous, game, relentless dog out there....

    • @spoderman5481
      @spoderman5481 5 лет назад +1

      @Lord Jagged the APBT isn't a "protection" dog. It was never bred for that.
      Sure there are other dog breeds that are extremely game like the APBT like the Patterdale Terrier, Tosa Inu, and others, but the APBT is the most game. Anyway my question was why she said she was looking for a dog breed with more "aggression", aggression towards what?

    • @dogs4homeprotection104
      @dogs4homeprotection104 5 лет назад +1

      Bruh, the APBT is not a guard dog; as for fighting it's very simple, not all APBT are absolutely winners,but a very game APBT will beat any breed, I've seen it with my own eyes and I have videos. I've seen the whip alabai/kangals , I even have a video where the little tiny game dog grabs the giant kangals Testicles and he cries and jumps out of the box running for his life. I don't know about your gulldong dog, but it's probably similar to a bully kutta, I have absolutely no doubt that the the exact same thing would happen. Remember we are talking about a 40lbs Bulldog against a giant 160lbs kangal , think about it, I have the video right here on my phone

    • @spoderman5481
      @spoderman5481 5 лет назад

      @@dogs4homeprotection104 everything you said is correct.
      Some people don't believe the APBT is the best game dog, they think the best game dogs weigh 100#s or more, they're wrong. Dead game APBT > literally every other game dog breed.

    • @dogs4homeprotection104
      @dogs4homeprotection104 5 лет назад +1

      Well Brother, I have have only protection breeds at the moment; 10 Dog's 4 breed's (Fila, Corso, Presa, Am.Bulldog) so I do know a thing or two about that. As for dog fighting , I like it as long as it's stopped when a Winner is determined and not allowed to continue, also as long as there is medical attention immediately afterwards. I've been to countries where it's legal and sanctioned. I've seen the fights, different breeds, mixed breeds, same breed etcetera, so I know a bit about this as well

    • @spoderman5481
      @spoderman5481 5 лет назад

      @Lord JaggedYou know we are are all on agreement that the APBT isn't a guard dog, I mean, right from the start, from my original comment I said that they're human friendly, that was never the disagreement. Now we're just disagreeing about the most game breed, but that's probably something we won't agree on lol, but to each there own. My original question was asking what she meant by wanting a breed with more aggression, I assume she meant human aggression, but if she did, then saying "more" aggression was incorrect of her because the APBT has no human aggression. If by aggression she meant drives like prey dive, rank drive, defense drive etc, I assume she only could have meant defense drive, for obvious reasons.
