    Dogumentary TV caught up with Alex and Nicole of Five Star Dog Academy, and got an up close look at protection dog training. The couple set up several real world, personal protection scenarios for me to film. The couple was aided by close friend and business partner Vick Franklin, whose massive Cane Corso Kevlar took part in one of the scenarios. In addition to the Cane Corso, Alex worked his "Street Pit", Leonitas. Street Pit is just another term for Pit Mix, so all you APBT enthusiast, please don't have a heart attack.

  • @jameswolf4894

    Finally a trainer that acknowledges the danger of sending a dog to dispatch someone. People in that situation will either panic and submit or fight like hell. A fighting man is more than capable of killing a dog....he can choke it, crush it, spread the front legs apart, gouge it's eyes out, and of course stab it. Too many trainers that just have the dog bite the sleeve and hold on for dear life...I haven't seen one who actually pretends to fight the dog. Instead they'll just scream and completely submit.....sure it gives the dog confidence but anything can go down in a real situation and it's most important to know that the dog will actually be able to handle the stress of that, even if it means giving it's life in the fight. Hope to see more videos of Five Star Dog Training. Those are extremely brave dogs he's training.

    • @jameswolf4894
      @jameswolf4894 7 лет назад +13

      No and I don't plan to. I own a GSD and I've seen what he's somewhat capable of while I play wrestle with him. A dog on the attack is faster than what one can prepare for and those chompers hurt even when it's just a play bite. But I noticed his head is really the only part that hurts along with the fact that even though he's a full grown dog, I still outweigh him and can still comfortably scoop him in my arms when i need to. Now imagine a person being attacked. Look at how the trainer in this video can easily pick up the dog. Sure the pain will be terrible but there have been cases where the dog attacking almost ended up being killed like here: www.browardpalmbeach.com/news/crazed-naked-florida-teen-beats-up-police-dog-several-officers-before-finally-being-taken-down-6463056
      You can explore the subject further on Quora: www.quora.com/Can-I-fight-off-a-police-dog
      Anyway, that's all i have to say on this subject. If I were bit by a dog, I would probably submit to the pain right away. But that doesn't mean everyone would do the same. Humans are seriously underestimated as being a weak species when it comes to these sort of things, but a man with murderous intent is more than match for a canid that's simply holding his arm.

      adrenaline does wonders. not all people will go down the moment a dog bites. what about the person that is high on drugs with limited pain receptors, like someone on PCP? Cops doesn't show the druggies that are so high they feel nothing. his training is good, it helps the dogs push through the shock of being hit.

    • @douglaspreston3714
      @douglaspreston3714 6 лет назад +2

      Lyle Benzo okay, so then in the time it takes for that to happen, the guy high on pcp hasn't noticed, and has now stabbed your dog a shitload of times.

    • @douglaspreston3714
      @douglaspreston3714 6 лет назад +2

      Cane Corso Puppies you’d go to jail for that. Just as I would for shooting someone with my personal firearm. I get the druggie will go down. But teaching the dog that there will be a struggle means they’re more likely to keep the bite as opposed to simply giving up.

      5 Star Dog Academy I got a question. I'm asking you because I have dogs like yours and would love to find a proper classification for my dogs. From my understanding, the Amstaff is of the same genetic make up as the APBT, and was just selective bred for looks. Could your dogs be considered Amstaff? I know they would not be recognized or sold as Amstaffs in the community, but I just can't shake the striking similarities of my dog to Amstaffs vs APBT or Bully Types. Thanks for your time and I appreciate the inspiration too! My brother is recently out of prison but LOVES dogs, so we figure that he may find some way to do what you're doing as he has an amazing ability to train dogs naturally.

    This is a badass video. Nice to see a hobby turn into a career, and like you said, a lifestyle. Recently got into dog training and (first time dog owner) really enjoy it as a hobby. Next dog is gonna be a big dog and hopefully I can get security training like that!

    Much much respect to Mr Chavarin I can see the work he puts out through them dogs, I’ve always been a huge fam of pitties and now that I own one I don’t know what I have I just know I love my dog and it loves us.
    I just got into the Italian mastiffs (cane corso’s) and fell in love with the huge comparison to the pits just a little more to handle I’m assuming because I literally just gave a deposit on one this Sunday and won’t come home till the 31st of July if lucky. We suffered a home invasion in the family so we’re looking to have a protector when I’m not home for the family.
    I definitely admired the work you put you and wish I was able to afford that kind of training but unfortunately I’m not able to but I’m definitely going to be looking for more of your work Mr. Chavarin you definitely make it look easy but I know it’s a working process wish I was in the same state just so I can go to shows and watch you perform. Glad you’re able to turn a hobby into a passion and maybe with the right guidance I’m able to follow in your foot steps and many of others out there but just admired the work you do with your dogs. Not like the so call biggest pitbull ever “hulk” 50,000 for his pups is a robbery to me but owe well not here to bash another’s man Work but just can’t believe people buy into that when you have obvious harder working folks who know more of what they have. Thanks once again to you and your family for showing us your work.
    Great documentary again sir it’s a doggy dog world always, and always enjoy your vids too. Keep thumping up those videos when I see them.

    Pitbulls are by far best family dogs. Best tempered and need good owners that control them and they just flourish.

      Street pits and bullies and pretty much anything that most people mistake for pits are great dog. But a real pits power, determination, and gameness is probably a bit too much for the average dog owner to handle. Most people like there dog to be excited 24/7 when apbt should be mellow by default. They are unstoppable when hyped
