A very RARE Newark Airport landing on Runway 29 due to maintenance on Runway 22L. This was an incredible opportunity to get an up close glimpse of the NYC skyline on approach.
This aircraft was delivered to United Airlines in July 2021, making it only 2 months old!
I dont think that could of been anymore perfect. Absolutely stunning
Awesome runway 22 landing
Superb panorama of the area, with NJ in the foreground and Manhattan in the background during landing at EWR !!! Thanks for sharing !!! J M = just magnificent !!! ;) ;) ;)
Beautiful sunrise approach on the RNAV Yankee to runway 29. The best approach and landing into EWR I've ever seen. Bravo!!
29 is used often for arrivals November-April when the seasonal NYC area NW winds return every winter. Can be as common as 1-2x a week especially JAN-MAR. Certainly quite rare in the summer months like construction on 22L would allow for. Rarer than this is when its blowing 40-45kts they will even depart 29 in the winter as well. The FAA/PANYNJ re-accessed and optimized the usage of Newark runway usage middle of the last decade, this included increasing the usage of the crosswind runway to levels not seen since the 90s. Just before corona wrecked traveling during Noon-3PM peak hours from the south on 4R they'd squeeze in a few arrivals on a scenic GPS approach to 29 (from the south obviously) to ease congestion and get in a few more arrivals per hour. Most recently they added an additional RNAV fix to the Stadium Approach from the north. 29 has become a norm of EWR ops. The summer 22L construction diversion happened last in 2014 I believe. Very cool video, thanks for sharing.

Landed 22 L in December
Always a beautiful view landing at LGA.
Every minute all day long.
Great memories!
Actually this particular landing was at EWR, but LGA approaches definitely have the best views of Manhattan!
Pretty sure thats Newark
Rare it is. I had same experience right side window. Very windy from the west with turbulence. Making a right turn to final the Hudson looks awful close. Love it!
Never landed at Newark from that direction before. Cool.
I got lucky that month!
Very nice
That runway is usually used when it’s pretty windy but only on landings… but yes it’s rare they land there
Wow what a view 🤩
Nice scenery 😉
Nice treat! Awesome view!
Amazing!
Favorited!!!!
It was a landing in Newark NJ!!!
Is the left engine working ??
those are non-moving air flow guidance panels behind the fan blades. The camera is just not picking up the fan blades because of the frame rate. So yes it is working.
It's a rare landing because a MAX didn't crash for once
That gets a...
M Y N I G G A .
Grow the hell up.
goddammit
