I thought the beginning was going to differently manly with Ash on this journey to get stronger to take on Sabrina. I like that Ash could connect to Pokémon through his psychic abilities. Ah so Ash's starter is the same Haunter from the tower/cannon nice. 👍 Plus he caught a Spearow, Mankey (Same from cannon I believe.), and Muk. Then they go though Pallet Town Ash definitely need to register their encase Ash gets more Pokémon it can be sent their plus getting a Pokédex would help on Ash's journey. Finally I'm hoping Brock still goes with Ash and hoping Ash finds Charmander. Anyways another really good start to this new series, and looking forward to the next part soon.
so Ash is an Empath. I don't think its fanficy as even in the games there are different kinds of psychic trainers with different talents and skills. In my opinion it'd be more fanficy if you made Ash as strong as Sabrina or stronger, so i think you got a good start up here
actually it could be possble if ash were to be riley's brother since he has canonically have aura similar to riley and lucario but to a lesser degree imagine ash taking the role of aura guardian in the main timeline

If Sabrina was MY big sis, I'd be the Top Gym Trainer in her Gym by now with my Kadabra and Slowking. My Psychic Abilities would be Teleportation and Telepathy, just like Sabrina, though I'd be unable to use Telekinesis or sense Emotions. I'd also be quite serious from having grown up around her a lot more than our parent's, and she wouldn't be against the idea of spending time with me if it was to train our Pokèmon or Psychic Powers; she'd be cold-but-caring.
No hate but the Sabrina fight felt kinda Rushed it felt like how it did in the anime which had its own problems and all of the emotional value is kind of lost all the build-up Gone not to mention it was his first Pokemon battle if it were me to make things interesting I will have hem travelling the region using his mom and his dream to reunite the family as motivation while having him challenge Gym Leaders to gauge his strength and to maken make things more interesting by giving the ash's mom a time limit before she turns into a doll permanently and after everything is done and he can travel with his sister and enjoy himself Maybe challenge the league for fun and by the way good what if idea never would have come up with that myself can't wait to see where you take the story
If pokemon was a more serious anime like HxH, MHA, JJK etc I'd totally agree Due to the nature of how pokemon is a lot more episodic and childish though I just can't see it going that way honestly It's a lot more comedic and carefree than you'd assume so having it like this in my opinion makes the most sense

If Ash was Sabrina's brother it'd make it kind of weird I ship them. Still wouldn't stop me from shipping them, but I acknowledge how weird it'd be to do so.

Poor haunter. Mankey doesn't find it funny. Haunter is pretty funny if you grew up with it or cartoons like that. Also Haunter is a good member for your pokemon team.

The anime ignores that for the most part since normal and ghost attacks both hit the other types all the time

Lick wouldn't work on Mankey, as Ghost-Type moves don't affect Fighting-Types. You should've had Ash use his Spearow on the Mankey.
