Literally just made this awful day so much better.
I have been patiently ( not so patiently) waiting for his music.
I heard this for the 1st time on radio 1 yesterday - didn't even no the artist and the thing that struck me was the guitar sound on the record which really took me by surprise and that's the reason why I'm here now, Its a unique guitar style I've never heard before it's very immersive almost meditating, what do other people here think.
I really love the final chorus an dhow everything leads up to this big thundering end. Really impactful.

Not sure how I feel about the new approach to vocals! Man...I still respect him a million percent, but I wonder how much of the vocal adjustment has to do with vocal damage from maryjane, smoking, long touring months, etc. Hopefully the other tracks on the album showcase some of that classic Ben Howard sound!

To be very honest I like the song, but I was expecting for higher notes close to the end... It is just my opinion! I Loved the song just missed some dynamism!! I'll wait for a better version.

Yeah agreed, would’ve loved to hear him go up the octave at some point. To be honest though I reckon it’s more because I’ve missed his voice. Whereas this song really is a storytelling/reflective/euphoric style piece so I think he was going for the more speech style of vocal delivery intentionally. Looking at the track titles and the album title itself and his interviews, this album could quite possibly be a concept album and maybe this song follows a song that is more belty or even a return to his falsetto/mix voice (doubt it) and therefore actually does dynamically make sense when you think of the album as a whole, and not just a single song. Just a thought.

Am I the only one who isn’t very WOW about this song? Don’t get me wrong I was an huge fan of his EK and IFWWW work but ABOF was quite disappointing like this song to be honest. I just don’t like it. I am trying so hard to enjoy but it’s just isn’t working for me

I agree.nico libre is pure brilliance.im lukewarm about this album buts that’s cause the previous one was PERFECT. but...we must allow mr Howard to change and evolve.hes that type of artist.that being said, I hope his next one is the best one...
I have tried to love this for the past few days. I've listened to it a handful of times and I've decided I just don't like it. I've been a fan of Ben's since Every Kingdom and loved IFWWW. But this... it just doesn't do it for me. I'm hoping the new album won't be all like this. I appreciate him doing his own thing and not succumbing to mainstream but I'm sad to say I'm not a fan of this.
