I've actually gone back from an iPhone 2022 to this because it's just so small and lightweight. I'm a light user, and so far, all the apps I used still work with iOS 15 and can get through a day with a fully charged battery. I hate big phones, they drop out of my pocket so earily, lost one once and luckily got it back, then chipped and scratched another when it fell out of my pocket during a bike ride.
I love this post. I found a brad new unlocked 128gb and I’m definitely thinking about getting this. I don’t use socials, don’t play games, don’t video edit, none of that high powered stuff. Just need it for phone calls, messages and light web surfing and maps. Plus the cases are $10-20.
@@maxcalifornia94 I've ended up with a 13 Mini now, all the apps I use can still work with iOS 15 but I was thinking about the future. It's only slightly bigger than the old SE and a great improvement, keep the SE as a back-up phone still.
I continue to use the iPhone SE 2016. My usage style includes making calls, listening to music through Apple Music subscription while on the go, checking something on the internet or maps, taking photos or videos. I can be lenient about everything, but not about the battery or the camera. I have a 5000 mAh power bank. With it, I feel confident everywhere and always. Overall, the display, photo and video shooting, and battery of the new ones are noticeably better. The operating system remains the same. I'm on the verge of upgrading to the latest one
I still use my SE 128GB every day. Battery always gets through the day no problem. I usually get home with about 65% on heavy use days and up to 80% on light use days. I can switch the battery out with a new one in less than 2 minutes. I use an aftermarket high mah battery from eBay. I’m running IOS 14 still. Everything works great in 2024. The only issue I have is when I’m on a call and leave the wifi signal sometimes it drops the call instead of handing off to cellular.
@JasonTech96 Forgot to mention that the battery I replaced was an original Apple product with 99% showing in battery health. If what you are saying is accurate, I should expect the new battery to be worse than the one I replaced. It isn't. It lasts the whole day without issue. Try it yourself.
It’s not 2800mAh because the battery is the same size as the original. It’ll ware faster as an aftermarket battery and you’ll likely need to replace it soon. I used aftermarket batteries for years on my OGSE until I eventually just replaced it with an OEM battery at an Apple Store last year.
I still use my 128gb model and whilstI I have other phones like the 12 mini,a galaxy note 9, and a working 4s. My SE and 4S had new batteries put in them a year or 2 ago and my SE battery health is still arouns 96 or 99%. When I last checked earlier this week and my SE is used everyday for my fitbit, my bank apps and to make purchases because of the touch ID. I only charge my SE twice if i'm listening to music on it but I mostly use my note 9 to use RUclips when I'm out and about and just use my 12 mini for calls. Sent from my Galaxy
2024 and my SE1 still going - had a new battery in 2022 and still 100%. Mostly I read texts with Safari Reader Mode and Acrobat so text can be enlarged. Stretching daily battery life with Low Power Mode, along with Airplane Mode, turning off Location, avoiding widgets, etc.
I still use first iPhone Se 32gb and i like it i dont even care that it supports only ios 15 and the battery life is short but its enough for me because i dont take phones outside because i am scared i will lose it
I loved my first Gen. But, I went down to just my phone for 2 months. When I got a galaxy tablet, I had a 1000 unchecked Gmail messages. ??😮 . Very important messages too. Credit card. Son in college. A lot of missed emails. . Second: when I erased a voice mail, or text, it goes to a trash file. My phone kept saying Free up space. I finally figured out I had to erase those trash file also. (Not a system flaw) . Third, the update was fighting against the old updates slowing down my phone, and wiping out the battery life. I set it back to factory , and did the recommended updates, and it was brand new again. The battery was back to lasting all day again. Surf super fast. . If it wasn't for that Gmail stuff, I would still use an iPhone.
I still keep this iphone SE . Although this is not my main phone for daily usage , i still use it to listen to Music ,Watch RUclips & connect it to Apple carplay while driving. I am carrying 2 Iphone The battery is definately not great despite changing to newer battery ( the battery was OEM . Questionable quality?) .
1:00 some OnePlus phones have the mute switch. And I believe BlackBerry had it as well, but maybe I'm mistaken and it was only on BB10 and older devices.
What are the apps that don’t run on it? I am using my SE right now (my main phone is the 12 mini) and I can’t find apps that don’t run on this phone. Imovie requires newer version of iOS but it can still install the ios 15 version of imovie.
Thanks for the video. I found a brand new unlocked gold 128gb for a great price. I might go for it. I’m a light user and don’t use my cell phone that much really. Plus good price and it’s still getting security updates.
I can tell you put bold text on it. The phone is so small you have to enable bold text just to see the letters a bit better on this tiny device. I could've sworn the apps was a lot bigger and more zoomed in back in the day or is it just me? 😂
Yes! I'm still able to read it fine without the bold text but this was my mom's phone. Also I don't think it is just you. Most apps from a while back had bigger icons and buttons because they were optimized and meant for small phones. Now developers make their apps for big phones. And some forget about the smaller ones so then they don't always work perfect

I’ve just swapped out the battery on my SE for a 2800mah battery I bought on Amazon. No battery issues at all.
Nice!
