I suffered from a systemic neurological autoimmune disease for 20 years intermittent fasting and wfpb no oil put me in remission actually 2 years ago today.
I just completed an 8 day water-only fast. It was interesting. The first 3 days were the hardest. As the days went on it got easier mentally but felt physically weak and unproductive. I also felt really cold, even with warm clothes and heat. Around day 6 and onward I started belching quite a bit and that was weird. What I enjoyed was how calm and peaceful I felt.
I eat a whool food plant based diet no oil with no restriction and fast (between 12 and 14H, it depends) for 5 months now and my allergies are almost complety gone! I was not expecting that at all! So glad! So graceful! Continuing for my weight loss and helping fixing my organism. Because of the allergies medecines (I was taking them every day for 2years and a half) I weight 3kgs more... I know it will take some time because my fast is not very long but I'm not in a hurry. The most important is my health. ❤🌱❤
After three years of 5:2 fasting and going plant-based, I've dropped 30 lbs., my diverticulitis has disappeared as have my kidney issues, my pollen allergy symptoms are 1/10 of what they were. I have more energy and, although I don't have objective measures to prove it, my memory seems improved. Never going back.
@@VoicePassion It's a system of fasting popularized by British journalist and doctor Michael Mosley. You eat normally five days per week, on the remaining two you eat about 1/4 of your normal calories. About 500 for women and about 600 for men. That's it! Pretty simple, but very effective.
I used to suffer from severe menstrual pain and since I stoped eating animal food the pain disappeared and also the painful facial cyst you get before period gone for good 😊
Hi, hope all is well, I have glaucoma and I'm on a topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitor/beta blocker eye drop, which is triggering systemic autoimmune issues, no matter how healthy I'm eating or fasting. Any suggestions? Thank in advance
In 2009 I would wake up with red swollen joints in my hands and feet .. pain in my legs/joints .. terrible rosacea, loss of hair and constipation .. 3 days on a gluten free diet cured the joint/tissue inflammation and my bowls returned to normal. As long as I was gluten free .. it didn’t matter what I ate - I felt great. However, I also started having extremely high blood pressure which was only cured going plant based .. today I’m plant based and gluten free. I fear that others going plant based who unknowingly carry the DQ2 gene are going to become disenchanted with this diet quickly when their health issues don’t improve because they are consuming whole grains (with gluten).. so many social media vegans quit their diets complaining of health issues and blaming the diet. Some feel better on protein diet (often they omit the gluten carbs & this is why they feel better)... If you have the DQ2 gene .. your body does not tolerate gluten in it. Appx 40% of the population of the world has this gene.
Your body can do miraculous things when we remove water and food intake for a few days. I hear a lot of people doing the carnivore diet to treat autoimmune diseases and I wonder if they would benefit more from dry fasting for at least a few days. Of course this anecdotal, but in my experience diets covers up symptoms, deep fasts will get to the root issue and help to cure it.

I wonder if since some people being in ketosis have said there ailments are relieved on that diet, it could just be that the prolonged fasting from carbohydrates is making there symptoms suppressed? Hi, @willb440! I'm assuming what's happening is people are eliminating the cause of the triggers to their disease through fasting. It seems like a bandaid. We need precision and personalized medicine to identify the etiology of the illness, in my opinion. Sequencing gut RNA and work with epigenetics or methylation and peptides seem promising for this but so far juicing and fasting seem to be able to deliver the nutrients we need with the general elimination.
