I like how even if they don't like something they never act rude with it
Exactly and they acknowledge a positive about it and don’t make such a big dramatic deal about it. They are always so respectful in all the videos. It’s heartwarming
Ppl nowadays when doesnt like something they will like spit it out,"🤮",eww-ing
@H. O. Or like a picky eater,if dont like dont spit it out infront of camera, dont eww-ing people's food...
Exactly! So many videos of people trying things and they act so disrespectful and rude towards the food. Food is so important to everyone’s culture. You can say you don’t like something and be polite
@@18.jesslynzhang23 If it's nasty to you, it's nasty to you. It's natural to express disgust.
I think we all can agree we love grandma OK and she feels like home to our hearts.
Grandma OK is such a cute woman. I love how she tries things from other countries. I really want to know more about her family. She’s just so funny ❤️❤️
Lovely meeting another Ama on here!!😊
As an Icelandic person I thought that your pronunciation of hallfríðu was really good for not knowing the language that well 😊
I agree! :)
I agree to 😊
@@HallfridurBeck ég hló vel er ég las notendanafn þitt
I’m watching this while eating a snack. There’s no way in hell I can survive watching you and Grandma OK feasting fantastically, on an empty tummy.
Grandma OK is absolutely adorable. She always brings a smile to me
I clicked on this sooo fast because I was shocked about it being snacks from my home country!
Omg, same. I feel.. honored? And also just happy
haha same
lol same
same lol
Sameeee
Very happy you got to enjoy it. You guys are my favorits... Hope i will have a chanse to maybe send you another one sometime. Lots of hugs!
Granny: "But I believe people enjoy it because there is something great about it."
Translation: "I don't know why people eat this."
translation: "I don't know why people eat this, but they do and that's their thing"
Licorice is a big deal in Scandinavia. When we were in Finland it was everywhere!
Torille🇫🇮
Thank you Zoey and Grandma OK for being so kind, accepting, and willing to try new things with an open heart. Along with Yumi, this is a wonderful channel that was so helpful during the gloom of the Covid crisis. Love you all and I'm appreciative of all your good work.
Bloody love grandma! What a sweet human she reminds me of my Spanish nan. Heart of gold x
Very clever of her to pick out so many licorice products that you actually liked :)
I wish your grandma sooooooooo much health and that she will live way beyond 100 years old to keep trying food with you! So precious!
Zoey is so pretty ToT she seems like she would be such a good friend. And grandma OK is basically the best thing on this planet XD
I absolutely love your personality and of course grandma's too. You're both gems!
Your editing is on point too, makes it so much funnier.
Have been watching you for years and don't remember if I replied to your video's. I mean I must have, but I don't remember.
Just found you again after not getting any notifications for a long time and I thought the youtube algorithm was messing with me again, but then I saw you haven't been uploading for a long time.
I rewatched your "apology" video, which is so beautiful yet heartbreaking.
Don't feel the need to upload or apologise for not uploading because you owe us nothing. You have given us soo much and I just hope you are doing well.
Of course I hope to see you again, but if you don't feel like doing it anymore, or are not capable of doing it now, don't feel bad.
I wish you and grandma raaawr Ok all the best and want to thank you for all the wonderful, wholesome and funny video's you have made for us over the years.
Love and greetings from The Netherlands! ❤
p.s. I've never had Kimchi, but apparently they sell it in dutch supermarkets now and because of your video's I now know how to eat it. WIth rice and some nice pork ;)
So I will buy it very soon!
This makes me wanna send them a box of snacks from Finland😂🇫🇮
Please do. We enjoy lots of it here in Sweden as well. 🍫🤗
afaik finnish candy is much like icelandic candy
delicious and with lots of licorice
Yesss, I’ve been waiting for this one!!!! Hugs from Iceland 🇮🇸🥲💙
I love your videos! It's always so nice to see you trying different things with Grandma OK. Thank you to Hallfríður for sending in all these lovely snacks!
I am slowly starting to see that licorice has its own omen on this channel 😂
It's one of those things that I can understand that it's not for everyone, but to hate it? More to the pallet than i know it seems
I love licorice, but salmiakki, which is super salty, is a whole beast unto itself. It’s somewhat popular in my area of Michigan because we have a lot of Dutch heritage, but it’s way too much for my taste.
Grandma OK in thumbnails: 😖😖🤢🤮
Grandma OK in the video: 🥰😍😋😋
Oh, how I've missed grandma K! Zoe, I hope you two do another livestream together soon. I learned a lot about Icelandic snacks today 😁💜
omg i never thought that you would try Icelandic candy but I am glad that you could :D
That is quite a name, you have there. 😁 Help with phonetic pronunciation?
The pig sounds are my favorite.
I'm so happy to see you try Icelandic treats! I used to live in Iceland and let me tell you they REALLY like liquorice there hahaha you might have trouble finding snacks without liquorice in them lol. I love how surprised you both were when you liked the liquorice, so cute ! :D My mouth started to water when you showed the Stjörnur crisps, I miss them so much hahaha could eat 10 bags of these.
Hi Zoey and Grandma, never heard of Paprika being a snack. My Grandparents used only Hungarian Paprika. Yes, they were from Hungary. My Grandpa use to say he was a proud "Magyar"! They owned a restaurant in Manhattan called "Headquarters"! They specialize in Hungarian and German food. Thank you for this special memory 💜 for me. Joan Bates
In Hungary (and many other European countries actually) there are paprika flavored chips/crisps. Yummy!
All that Licorice!!
LOL - I'm starting to think she sent licorice on purpose as a test... there's no way she's a KID and didnt know our Zoey loathes it.
The thing is we have sooooo many things with licoris in it. We do love it alot :) . I try picking the ones that are different from all the other licoris out there :)
@@HallfridurBeck i just thought it was hilarious. but Yumi would have happily eaten it all, but Zoey's face kept falling which made me laugh. I get it though, when I first moved to the northern part of USA years ago, everyone up here at pumpkin flavored things, and there's a pumpkin festival. Now everyone in the USA makes things flavored with Pumpkin, including Starbucks and I think its weird! We ate sweet potato pie where I'm from, not pumpkin.
She liked half of the liquorice stuff, also she's only 1/3 of the channel ;)
I enjoyed watching this video and learning about the different sweet snacks from Iceland. Can I just say how much I adore Grandma. She has a very nice way of analyzing and commenting without saying anything negative or offensive. She tasted every item without grimacing at all. 😊 Thank you for the English subs - much appreciated.
Omg im from Iceland never expected you to make a icelandic related video 🥺
They love liquorice in Finland too. When I was there i had the weirdist but most addictive ice cream lolly ever. It was a lemon sorbet with super bitter licorice shell coating and a massive bitter licorice stick in the middle
The last one with liquid inside chocolate reminds me of the russian chocolates with like alcohol inside them haha you should try those one day !
Chocolates like that ARE SO GOOD!!😀😀😀💕💕
In Italy we have that too! Also with coffee inside :)
I love this!
I paused it on "a battle with liquorice" so I could show my Icelandic boyfriend xD
You guys are both so cute. Love watching. Thanks from Canada.
I thought everyone liked licorish but turns out it's more a northern thing, we love licorish here in Scandinavia and Findland as well
i feel like i'm destined to be pals with zoey, such good vibes, thanks for the fab content : )))
I was so shocked to see the snacks from home on here 🤣
I always think it's hilarious how outside of the Northern countries like Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland, majority of the people who try anything with licorice hates it.
I've read that it's possibly a gene that we have, that makes us like licorice.
Personally it's my go to candy in any sort or form, and I will eat it until I get a massive tooth ache! :p
yes
foreigners can't appreciate the glory of liquorice
which is funny, since it's native to the west asia, southern europe, north africa bit of land
Everyone who thinks the Grandma is amazing and funny
⬇️
*gets excited in Icelandic* frábært!!
Grandma OK singlehandedly pulling me through my quarantine 🥰🥰🥰
I really wanna try islandic treats/sweets after watching this video!
Salted Licorice is definitely an acquired taste, in much the same way as Vegemite. As an Australian I learned to like Vegemite growing up, and now as an adult through my travels I have grown to like Salted Licorice.
Does Granny know she has a lot of fans here in the USA? She is delightful!
I love 😍 your grandma. What a great lady.
I seriously love how every Grandma OK episode starts with: "Grandma..." "Yo..."
Glad to see you both well! Love to you both
Grandma is so adorable, I love her tops-always so beautiful! Adore her!!! Thanks for sharing her with the world. 💖
Earlyyyy!
I love you guys!
Your grandma is so cute❣️
Woooooaaahhh is one hour after the video early??? ... I love you so much you are so genuine funny and so loving I'm positive that granma OK had a huge hand in your sweetness .. May God keep those beautiful smiles on u
this channel feels so pure i love it
Love your channel
I like how you gave Yumi the Opai bag lol
Savage eating that spawning fish XD
Love your grandma ,she's so adorable and sweet.
I always like your videos before I watch bc I know I’ll love whatever you post. 💜
as an Icelander there is something interesting about foreigners trying to eat all our licorice candy, we have so much of it
Grandma I get it I've never understood the need for a food cheers either...
One of my FAVORITE chocolates ever is the Eitt Sett bar but shipping is way too expensive for just candy bars lol
Love you both! I would love to see Grandma OK react to RUclips Rate My Takeaway - Danny is epic.
How does this Video only have 710 Likes, when it was Posted Four Hours ago! I Love these Two!!
Inbred an Icelandic friend
I love licorice 😋
It's always good to get a new video with Grandma OK in it! Thank you! ♥ I don't like black licorice either, but I'd want to try the ones you liked! XD1
This video was so cool for me cus I’m part Icelandic ❤️🇮🇸
Love you guys!
It's 01:00 and i just feel compelled to run to the convenience store to buy a chocolate bar. This always happens when i watch these candy eating videos.
As an Icelandic person, i can confirm, Icelandic people like liquorice, well, i dont, but everyone i know does sooo
When I tried these snacks for the first time I was a bit sceptical about it but it’s really good! Öskudagur is one of my fave days since I get to eat lots of sweets
ooh im icelandic, really excited about this, but i dont think she'll like alot of them, icelandic ppl have a thing for licorice lol
There are several nordic countries that have that affinity for licorice. I wonder why that is?
@@LindaC616 I’ve heard it’s because it’s a root, so it was easy to find when other food was scarce. I saw that on a Sorted Food episode.
@@jenniferalbert910 Plus we learned to enjoy salty stuff because we had to use it for conserving so much food with it because of the cold climate.
Ugh!!! You guys are so cute!!! And I saw another Korean grandma from a different channel and she looked very similar to Grandma OK...I’m talking the same hair, build, face structure, everything 😂 I was kinda confused at first ngl!!
I hate when people say yeah iceland is very cold problably but on summer times the wather csn reach op to 20 c i couldnt find the little circle
Love your Videos!!❤❤❤❤
I love that color on you, Zoey! Very flattering.
It's pronounced like "Hatlfrithur". Not bad try tho!
Totally of topic of this video but have you ever considered reacting to music videos??? If you ever do you should watch my favorite band Jinjer. This band has an amazing front woman with an amazing background and versatile voice. Thank you so much for all you amazing content over the years btw.
'Its not always cold'
yep, they have vulcans.
Hver fílar staur? Það er vibbi.
En lakkrís er ávalt góður. :D
THIS is how to do multiculturalism! We share each other's foods, thoughts, ideas, opinion without invading each other's spaces.
Hi Zoey or is it spelled Zoe? Lol I dunno
I would love to send you stuff from Germany too. I'm not sure if you've tried anything from Germany. I want Grandma to try them too 😊😊
The Icelandic name Hallfriour (my device doesn't have accents enabled) is a bit difficult to pronounce but the sounds is Hall-fr-ee-th-ur....not has a "d" in it.
I had to look in Google for prounciations in Icelandic.
Ooooh I don't like licorice either! You're so brave! 😆
One time this Finnish lady gave me a candy that was hard on the outside and tasted like very salty licorice, and inside was a liquid center flavored like ammonia 🥶🥶🥶🥶 someone from Finland should send them this 😁
Salty licorice is delicious. But I'm Norwegian so it's to be expected that I like it. :P
4:40 Reminds me of a Charleston Chew - now I want one :)
Why does it look like grandma has a bruise on her face/lip corner area? Is she ok?
She's just been going to fight clubs and kicking lots of tail.
She's Super-OK!
@@Lycanthromancer1 😆😆
The double L is like the -ttl in American English "bottle", Zoey, and the otherwtter is like a soft "th"
the pig noises lmao i’m dead
I wish i can send snacks from my country, but my country is kind of unoriginal in food 😅 we just have italian/arabic/english food.
Love You👍💜💓😎
Hello Grandma OK 👵
I'm a viewer from WI, USA
Since the Icelandic folks are sea-going people, maybe that licorice helps them with any throat ailments, like "Fisherman's Friend"? I do admit, wheen it comes to black licorice ... :|
If Grandma OK likes it then I like it, too, haha
I can't stand licorice either. It tastes medicinal. Lovely video as usual!
Hi! I am from Little Rock, AR in the USA. We are a southern state. I would like to send you something to your P.O. Box from my hometown. How do I find out what it is? Love your channel. Love you and your sweet, sweet, grandma!
No, Grandma, don't touch the shark and the licorice!
"A BATTLE WITH LICORICE" hahahahahahahaha
Is grandma ok I see a bruise on the side of her mouth.
loveeeeeeee
👍
If you don’t this again I’ll leave it be. But please make a reaction to saldaga covered by celestial. If can. Thanks you!
Wow this person didn't go easy on you, to send so much licorice. At most I'll prank my foreigner friends with djungelvrål (extremely salty and bitter licorice that guarantees a disgusted expression) but then I'll drown them in tasty cocolate, snacks, and sweet/sour candies because their tastebuds aren't accustomed to such bitterness/saltiness... XD
I saw some finished chocolate raspberry licorice in a local store. I couldn't bring myself to buy it because, like Zoey, I hate black licorice
Well considering what else we have that has licoris, i kinda did try going for the "easy" ones. The pepperopal was probably the "worst" but that one is one of my favorits.
Such beautiful young ladies
