What’s nice about freeze dried zucchini vs fresh in making zucchini bread is you don’t have to squeeze out all the water just add as much water as you want.
When freezing squash/zucchini we have always had to blanch first so the skin is still soft; cooking after, the skin is tough if not blanched. Have you had any issues with this freeze drying?
I’m freeze drying some zucchini chips as we speak. I had a lot left over and didn’t want them to go to waste. Hoping they will be like potato chip and I will have a healthier snack.
It makes me wonder when I will get some freeze dried zucchini pickles!! I have always used walnuts in my banana bread but grandpa says he likes Pecans the best and William is very convincing, so we will have to try that.
We get a really good deal on pecans at our local grocery outlet 😍. I try to always keep them on hand. But if it weren't for that I would be using walnuts too! They're normally a better deal.
In the freeze dryer the temps can vary and the temp can vary depending on the factory settings it's not a dehydrator so it's a different drying process.
