Yeah! That is true :) but my point isn’t only about hair physics, I mean, I don’t want to demerit EA, but they could have changed other important things for the game, like in gameplay, seeing PS5 and PS4 versions side by side, both look almost the same, I honestly don’t see a difference. And for example, FIFA14 (first next gen FIFA at the time) on PS3 and PS4, you could really tell a difference of gameplay and graphics.
So basically...Messi has Dybala's hair. Noice.

If you bring the camera close to their faces, you will notice the difference, but during the game I see very few differences. I'll keep my ps4 for a while longer thanks.
I agree. No rush to buy the new console, especially a that price. We"ll see in March.
I’m on ps5 and you can notice a huge difference while playing during the game but I also never had a PS4 pro
FIFA gameplay hasn’t really changed since 2015. I still think people shouldn’t have upgraded from fifa 19. Volta was something we needed back in FIFA 14 next gen.

Maybe not on a compressed video on RUclips, I have the new xbox and trust me it looks much better, the lighting, the animations on and off the ball, the crowd, the smoothness all round.. Small changes but then it's just an update I feel the big changes will come with the next fifa
Having only one player (premier league teams have more) with the new tech looks jarring Messi living that PS5 life meanwhile others still with glued hair.

Graphics, physics etc. One year isn’t enough for them. The reason why they don’t stop making games is money, also their competitors PES.

They look less clay skin, but still kind of an eerie look, also the t-shirts i don't think they shine that way in real life, but at least you have some "improvement" on next gen

You can tell it's a refined version of the current frostbite engine and not completely new like they will have in a year or 2. It's not about visuals anyway, they need to fix the robotics animations with a new physics and simulation system.
To be honest only messi part that were accually on the next gen update.most of them almost like no different

@@danielc1291 This is why I have huge respect to Konami, they have baIls to say "guys just relax and wait for something really new". What's more and I'm really waiting for is new physics. Who cares if Torres has freckels or not, if gameplay is just copy and paste - Fifa hasn't changed since 2010 edition (2011 PC). Currently PES is far better than Fifa, but you know licenses, ultimate team and whole marketing around this game it's just pure money maker, so it's hard to convince anyone to try PES. Anyway, there was a time when PES 6 was the king of the pitch (and at that time EA had more licences too), so let's just wait. Konami - I know you can do it!

Have you actually played both versions?
Actually you will, in cutscenes, when scoring a goal for example and the camera is closeup on the players.
The only difference is the amount of Particles, in the environment, the resolution, the lighting, Shadows, Reflections, (Maybe an RTX support) = the shaders. The skin Colors have changes, the hairs feels more present and realistic, and finally the number of shadows for example, took in count by almost every objects in the environment.
The music are spot on when messi is rocking his hair.

The fact that Jordi Alba and Busquets still have their FIFA 14 faces and that Benzema still doesn't have an updated face with his current beard, pretty much sums up how much EA could give a damn.

On ps5 can I change the icons color back to normal in game?? I don’t like that every icon is the same color. PS4 u could see the button color and press faster. Now I have to take a longer look and it throws me off

Facts
Messi looks absolutely amazing. His hair and beard are leagues better and are one of those things that bug me about modern games where beards just look like clumps unless it's a ND game. Too bad that that same level isn't applied to more but I guess we'll see a bigger upgrade with 2022/2023.
Dev: we finally made Messi's model it looks very good in our opinion, we nailed the hair and the beard.

there is only slightly upgrades like hair and lighting, ar least trophy reflection is better. But, I am afraid this little graphic improvement is what we get in fifa 22 or maybe until 23

Ah so they added couple of multilayer shaders with GI shader + hair dynamics system. And they call it next gen ? 😌
This all can be achievable on PS4 pro or One X rendering pipeline. Strange they did not do it from the beginning.

EA usual signature trick : After the last patch before a new game releases, the game is made to look like a ps3 game. Only those of us who can revert to version 1.0 (physical disc) will make this observation.
Basically just some better lightning and sharper faces/hairs. Nothing crazy should have come out much earlier. Some faces still look like on fifa 09

I got a patched fifa 19 on my ps3 and it's amazing.
Lights are brighter and Courtois has a bigger nose. It’s good to know I’m not missing anything if I’m sticking with my PS4.

Fifa 21 in ps4 BC mode on ps5 looks significantly better than the ps5 version itself. The colors are so rich and vivid unlike the washed out ps5 version.

More brightness thats it.
Lower the contrast by 1 and higher the brightness by 2. You will get the same results.
