Worked there in the summer of 1980. Had to get out of London for some fresh air. It's sad to see the place in such a forlorn state. I wonder if the old Forge is still open for business.
Loved it there went when I was 15 and 17 such a shame to see it like this. did go back to have a look a few years back and it was all fenced off. Wanted to go in and have a look but couldnt
I was on holiday there in July 1990. A lovely camp. Looks like Jill who was a waitress in the restaurant on some of these photos . Lovely lady, think I may have had a crush on her lol I was only 15.

Hi Lisa, bit of an out there question, but by any chance did you know a man by the name of Phil Dempsey? He was a manager here during the 90's and a lady called Ruth Woodhouse/Dempsey also worked there in reception! They are my parents! Was just wondering if you knew of them!
I was there in 1968 Brian. I remember two people who were there the year before. Big Jim the pool attendant and an oldish chap who lived on Jersey all year and always answered County Durham when asked where he was from. I asked him one day where in County Durham, he said Durham....the things you remember. I do remember the beautiful green lizards sitting in the sun on the wall from the main road to the camp. Thanks for bringing back a few happy memories.
I went here when I was 9 in 1985. it was the best holiday ever and its a shame I have no photos of it. I wanted to take my children hear and realised it was now like this. wasn't they starting to demolish it this year? I would love to meet those I maf friends with back then:'(
Thanks for the comment Joanna. Are you on the Pontins Plemont Bay Reunion Facebook group? There is an event being planned, and I think most of the people involved are from the 1990/1991 summer seasons. You may know our friends Gill & Paul Acton who did the 1990 & 1991 seasons.
I was the bass player in the band in the 1990 season, and my wife Marianne was the nurse the same year - that's how we met! Most of the people on the reunion Facebook group are kitchen/shop/waiting on staff, not many from the entertainment side at all.
I was a Bluecoat there in 1991, the video was awesome, it made me sad, but it also bought back fab times!!! THANK YOU :)

Stayed there in the 1950s when there were wooden chalets great place shame it has gone

I when to book it in 2002 but it was close my son died a year later of cancer sad 😢 waaaa
