    We are Jacob and Jenny, a husband and wife passionate about traveling the world. We started uploading in May, 2021 with a goal to see as much of the globe as possible. After visiting Costa Rica and French Polynesia, the time was right to quit our full-time jobs, so we left everything to travel and have loved every minute of it. Our goal is to make it to all seven continents and visit as many countries as possible. Follow along and be a part of the journey!

    That is kind of traveling I prefer. Knowing the locals, seeing the way they live. Enjoy your stay there.

    Taiwan is considered to be the westernised version of China in terms of the culture and mentality. Taiwanese people are so warm, liberal and accepting.😊

      Taiwan culture is absolutely varied from China since both have been separately developed for more than 100 years. Taiwan history includes government of multi-culture as Japan, Spain, Holland, British and Qing dynasty of China, NOT INCLUDED OF Chinese Communisim Party.

    I had an uncle that lived in Taiwan for several years. He loved it over there. This was many many years ago. Like 50+. But I remember him talking about it. 😊 Have fun, be safe. 💗🙏

    My great love for music was first awakened in Taiwan. My father was recording a Chinese musician play the Chinese violin, the Hu Qin, one afternoon, and I was totally enchanted and spellbound by the sweet music, which seemed to flow like liquid honey. I followed the sound back to its point of origin, and was mesmerized - it was a mystical experience! My dad also had a tape of Calypso Christmas Carols that my sister and I really loved - that also awakened my love for music.

      I'm glad you liked my comment. What I learned about Taipei, Taiwan many years later, through my study of locational astrology, was that it was a locality in which Venus, the planet of love, beauty and the arts, was setting on the western horizon at the moment of my birth (which was in Tokyo, Japan) - in other words, it was a locality in which the planet Venus, being conjunct one of the four major angles of the horoscope, was especially powerful in its influence - and Venus is love, beauty and the arts. Another place on earth in which Venus was very powerful for me is Romania - not only was I totally enchanted by the mesmerizing music of the Romanian Pan Flute, or Nai, but it was a place where my love life really cooked as well. So - if you know your date, place and exact time of birth, you too can use astrological mapping software to find out where your Venusian love zones and beauty / artistic zones are on earth. So many Venus zones to enjoy - and so little time! Or, as Hippocrates would put it: Life is short, and Venus zones are long! By the way, I had an old girlfriend who was totally in love with all things Egyptian - we booted up her astrological map of the world and found out she had a Venus line running right through Cairo, Egypt!

    Dear Jacob and Jenny, Yes indeedy - Taipei, Taiwan was another one of my old stomping grounds! I was only about five or six years old was back then, in 1958 or so. We lived in a big mansion that had a sea wall that bordered on the park by the Tamshui River. I was fanatically devoted to the Chinese opera back then - I would paint my face in the style of Chinese Opera characters, and my dad recorded me singing songs from Chinese Opera dramas on his old tape recorder.

    I finally got to watch your video of your first day in Taipei, Taiwan, and I can really appreciate your love for the place by watching this video it definitely seems warm and friendly, and has a good pan-Asian ambiance to it. Because I was so young when I was there, my memories of the place are rather sketchy - other than those precious childhood memories that have been ethed into my memory and consciousness that I wrote you about in my previous postings, which I will never forget for as long as I live. I believe that the river park you went to is the park along the Tamshui River, which has really been developed and beautified since I lived there over sixty years ago. Nice video!

    Recommend getting an easy card (from 7-11, family mart or mrt station office) for mrt, bus, basically all public transportation and even some restaurants, so don’t have to carry cash around

    I don't know why the tea said "Sudachi," but the Chinese just says Kumquat. So that's probably what the fruit was.

      There is no Water Splashing Festival in Taiwan!
      However, there are some Thai immigrants in Taiwan who celebrate by themselves, but the scale is of course much smaller.

    Another great video, guys!! I do have a question. About 15 years ago, I went to Jamaica, and they told us not to eat out of our hotel. My son was told that when he was stationed in South Korea. How do you guys know what's ok to eat in the different places you go and what's not? I am just curious.

    • @JacobandJennyTravel
      @JacobandJennyTravel  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much!! We typically eat thing that are cooked in front of us on a grill or stove. We are more weary of lettuce or fruits. But I would say for the most part if you are staying in a nice hotel in Jamaica it will be fine :) in general cooked foods that are still hot are what we consider fine to eat!
