THIS ALBUM IS SO OLD , I WAS A YOUNG MAN WHEN THIS WIKID ALBUM DROPPED,.. . I AM 60 years old now , and this album STILL " CRISS " , WE USED TO PLAY THIS UNTIL WE KNEW EVERY ( single ) note and ' phrase ',... a religious expression in music ?? .. my days in LONDON ( BRIXTON MARKET) pre 1980 ,... I have lived in America for 40years and I have DONE so much to ( educate) America about " Dub " ,.. I converted many many people...
This takes me back to better times.. I miss these days.

been jamming to scientist since GTA3 days, im glad i discovered the game as I am a true fan til this day. It made me listen to king tubby, prince jammy, mad professor and many other veterans of the game.

All my years as a musician and listeing to music.Scientist had given me that extra focus,so i could become a better musician.I think he is the best all times today i am working on my album and i took a few pages out of his book, just to put some life into my music,Thank Jah for having a person like Scientist in our life God blessed.

Fabulous, took me back to my childhood, 1st dub album I ever listened to, have been hooked ever since 😊
My first time listing to Scientist I was a teenager about 15 to 16 in my birth place which is ST.THOMAS U.S. Virgin Island. I must say because of him I enjoyed listing to music without the words. I remember this being on the first album that I listen to this is bring back memories. Great meditation riddims JAH BLESS.

Nah. This is one of his better showings, but whenever I listen to a Scientist/Jammy split LP and my ears really perk up during a mix, it's always one of Jammy's. Jammy absorbed more of Tubby's musicality in his approach. But it's a matter of taste, of course.

They're all good but scientist is the master
King Tubby's "old boys" fighting for his crown. Built mostly on the great Barrington Levy's vocal cuts, this is a fight to the finish between the Scientist and Prince Jammy. The damage was mostly done in the first half. In my opinion Scientist scored big in Round 1 (not the least for using King Tubby's trademark sonic boom at 2:55), then in Round 3 (a very wicked riddim if any). Prince Jammy unleashed a vicious but rather short lived upper cut in Round 4 (the deadly 'Skylarking' riddim). The Scientist would have none of it and bounced back in Round 5 with the massive 'Don't fuss nor fight' riddim. The Scientist then took Round 7 aided by Barrington Levy's saucy one-liner: "you hunting, you hunting, make sure you bathe inna de fountain," while Prince Jammy took Round 8.
My verdict: 1) The Scientist took this one on points. 2) The "show promoter", ace producer, the late Henry "Junjo" Lawes must have smiled all the way to the bank although he slightly favoured the Scientist who is a specialist in dubbing the great Barrington Levy.
4) This is a massive, 'must have' dub album for serious lovers of roots dub.

The first dub album I ever bought. Punk and The Clash got me into reggae and dub, I love music in general but there's music then there's sweet reggae music!

I am an original dub man from Tubbys/ Jammys and Scientist days late 70s but the late great John Peel (RIP) got me into the Clash, U2, Simple minds, Sioux and the Banshees, etc. Crazy innit.

well bob marleys crowds were mainly white and he was disappointed in that, he wanted a black crowd.. i suppose at the time more white people had the money for tickets, radios and records, times have changed the other way. More black african people can now hear reggae music than before to be honest. And asians, before it was exclusively in europe and the carribean where it was on the radio

I can recall one movie that had a Roots Radics song in the middle of it from the 80s, Violent Cop by Takeshi Kitano. Ska and Reggae have big communities over in Japan, so it will never die out as long as new people enjoy it.

The credits given for tunes by RUclips make no sense. Every tunes has different artist. Listed are artists called, " *Barrington Levy, Dave Robinson, Roots Radics, and finally someone by the name Version* " ✨🤪🤓😝😅🤣😂🤪🤓✨

@@DonTheking. Maybe. We probably won’t know it anyway, but Scientist said that he mixed all those tracks by himself, and that Jammy didn’t do shit but got all the shine. However, I like them both. They’re both Dub legends and pioneers, and it’s sad to hear that they don’t really like each other.

Long ass interview, but very interesting. I don’t remember the timecode where he said that Jammy didn’t mix the songs, but it was in that interview surely.

Get this album if you can on Jah Guidance DSR 0312 those pressings are superior in playback fidelity, also it’s the original JA mix. Some other reissues, and one off pressings have a different mix and edits don’t have the punch 🤜 you need for a soundsystem style. Enjoy 😉

Although it wasn't till the '3rd release ' of the 6 ( 1981s '...Meets The Space Invaders) that you could definitely say "This IS a Scientist lp"
