Gold from the golden era. What a pity that such fine dub is no more nowadays.
The equipment and techniques cannot be replicated accurately to bring out these kinda Tubbys sounds again, pitiful as this may be.. Equally, the 60's sounds can never be replicated as tech has moved on leaps and bounds... We just have to live for the nostalgia of it all now!
There is still Dub being made in the traditional fashion. Scientist is still going strong as is Mad Professor and Dub Syndicate. Ok, the sounds may differ slightly but the heart is still in it.
Be happy with what we got. It's all out there and quite enough!

There are some great dub that came outta the UK specifically, during the 90's....i cannot say the same for the JA dubs from that era unfortunately, although they still can be pleasing to the ears and the soul!
@@Higher_Sun_Highzak JA dubs in the 90s seemed to be in total eclipse as Scientist, Jammy, left a huge void in that subgenre. Scratch Perry was changing horses in mid stream with eclectic experimentation, Augustus Pablo was hanging on, Tubby & Yabby had gone over yonder and the new, younger generation was just not interested...If any innovation sprouted in the 90s (or an extension to that innovation), then it can only be digital/computerised dub. I like some but generally not my cup of tea, Thank you. BLESS...!!!👍

Right. In fact the discography says Tubby had no hand here. Rather Bunny Lee usurped Tubby's title to promote the album.

@@Higher_Sun_Highzak It seems you people have a misconception about how dub recordings are made. You have to understand that this is a two stage process that often happens in two different studios. In this case the Aggrovators recorded some tracks in Channel One studio. These tracks were recorded and mixed by Bunny Lee on 8 or 16 tracks on Reel To Reel Tape. These Tape Reels were given to KING TUBBY'S studio, where PRINCE JAMMY made DUB VERSIONS out of these recordings.
Bunny Lee = PRODUCER
Prince Jammy = MIXING ENGINEER/ DUB MIXER
A Dub MIxer like Jammy, Scientist or Tubby basically takes prerecorded music and runs the tracks through his mixing desk and REmixes them by fading tracks in and out, adding effects etc.
There are many records wich say King Tubby's and are not actually mixed by Tubby. King Tubby's (with an s at the end) is not the name of the man - it's the name of the studio! And this was definitely mixed at King Tubby's - shortly after that King Tubby locked out Jammy of the studio so it was basically Jammy's last recording at King Tubby's. I hope that helps.

@@patkelly8309 Because Jammy made recording sessions in Tubby's studio behind his back.
The thing was that Tubby did not only run a studio but he also had a company who made transistors. At that period Tubby had a big contract with a company who made air conditioners for Hotels, so he focused on making Transistors and gave Jammy the keys for his studio. Jammy was supposed to make mixes for King Tubby's for a payment wich he did, but he also took mastertapes without Tubby's knowledge and made Dub Mixes for Jamaican soundsystems on Tubbys studio but kept all the money for himself. Somehow Tubby found out about this and changed all locks in the studio and never worked with Jammy again.
