When I was teenager in 2000 I used to record my favorite songs in a cassette from the radio. I didn't know Poor Leno at all but on day I recorded by accident 10 seconds of the song at the end of the previous song (the one I wanted to record). With the time I started to be curious about these 10 seconds and I wanted to listen it full of it, but I didn't heard this song anymore... until today. I heart the song and authomatically I had this magic click in my brain, and here I am: enjoying the moment :)
at the time MTV played it a lot, it was a great time, when this music had space to fit in

I first heard this song on a back packing trip through Japan.

And at the time you had MTV New between 10p.m and 11 p.m. for 3 days in a week. I remember that on Tuesday after that it was MTV2 time til midnight, Thursday it was Yo, Friday musta been some kind of The Real World recap. I'm not sure but I think it was quite like that.

Shortly after 9/11, I was deployed to Kuwait. They played this on the radio station in Kuwait City and I was able to pick it up out in the desert. Bought the CD once I got back state-side.

This song just started playing in my head at work one day - I probably haven't thought of it in a decade
MTV Europe Awards 2002. This track rocked the show! Gosh. My 18 year old self back then lost myself in this tune. Memories.
One of my favourite songs. Poor Leno has an amazing feel over it! I actually listens to it every time I go skiing in the winter here in Norway! :D

I totally love this song and also the clip. It shows how the reality at the moment is. Being stuck in a cage and you can't escape from it. I hope we can once day being saved from that cage. Royksopp is amazing.
Really upsets me this video. So sad and there is no happy ending.
I always imagine that his friend came to help him escape and they live happily in the forest. When I first saw this mv I was bawling my eyes out for the entire day
this song is great for those times you feel a bit down. Poor leno was all alone in captivity but he never gave up on his dreams.
And his dreams were never realized...I supposed, year after year, at some point Poor Leno gave up, alright...

I only knew it was a terrific song played in State of Play (2003) and thought it was poor Lino, found Leno in the end!!
My mom used to play this all the time when I was a little kid. Every time she played it, I just stared at this music video. After many years I forgot the name of the song and was embarrassed to ask my mom. I didn’t know how to speak English back then so I tried to search “oor leno” and “ooor liino” and all that except “poor leno” after I found out the name this song and music video comes to my mind at times.
Lol I feel old if your mom played this when you were a kid 😂 I was jamming this in my mid 20s at clubs

Esta cancion la encontre de casualidad en mtv por alla de el año 2001, tenia 7 años y aunque no entendia el transfondo detras de la letra, me gustaba mucho el ritmo, 15 años mas tarde la volvi a oir de casualidad por encontrar otra cancion de ellos y desde ese entonces la tengo en mi lista en spotify, es un poco dificil pero hay gente en latinoamerica que le gusta la música de royksopp, ojala tener la vida para verlos un dia en vivo :D

i love this song! its so chill! i just want to look up at the stars for hours on a warm summer breezy night and just have this song playing the whole time. Just watched this video for the second time ever. First time was New Year's Day, 2000 or 2001, hungover and this damn clip made me feel miserably depressed. I guess nostalgia isn't always a happy phenomenon.
SSX was an awesome snowboarding game for the xbox - Nothing was more epic than snowboarding down a snowy mountain slope at dusk while this track played.
