Good Morning Walter 👋🤠🐕🙏🇺🇲, Awesome video review with the 158 gr JHP in 38/357 "Montana Gold bullet." I've used up my stash of that bullet a long time ago. Great bullet with an awesome price!!! Well done, video, brother!!!
Walter - Just went over to Montana Gold Bullets and they are out of stock on everything. Wanted to get some 100 packs of 44, 45 and 10mm to try 'em out. Interesting that you got OK results using rifle primers in 38 Special; it may very well be the light bullets I used in my own Rem 6 1/2 primer testing. I need to run the tests again with regular weight bullets and Unique powder. Hope your having a great day, Steve
After reading Dougs comment on your test, perhaps I should re-post the video I did with my testing of the Rem 61/2 primers. I got deleted with the rest of my old channel.
Nice presentation, I gave you a rumble too. A long time ago I gave up shooting jacketed bullets except for defensive loads because of cost. You were so proud of the ten cents per bullet over the thirty-two cents for the Sierra but when one can cast for less than a dime I'll save my pennies to put toward another firearm. Your load was nice and accurate in your Ruger I wish you had a place in the country where you could do expansion tests with your attention to detail I'm sure the results would be clear and concise. Keep banging away!
Yeah.. my cast bullets are cheaper to make. Even if a guy has to purchase casting alloy, a 158 gr bullet can be made for a nickel, less the cost of the gear. Not all of my subscribers have the the ability, time or desire to cast, though. As such, I strive to not focus entirely on cast bullets here on the channel. I’m with you on not having the ability to do expansion testing. It would be nice. But, we can’t have everything. Thanks, as always, for taking time to watch and comment. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Well done.👍 Good info on that brand of bullet. Always favored Sierra bullets when I loaded jacketed rounds back when I was still an active peace officer. But after I retired I've been shooting my own cast all the time. That's been 20 years. 😲 My how time flies!
Hi, Ranger. Good to hear from you. I shoot mostly cast as you know, but also enjoy having some jackets around to shoot now and then. These don’t break the bank! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
@@viejo2a I got some unknown 125gr bullets like that. I’m going to make up some 38 special +P rounds with them. I think their Winchester bullets but I could be wrong.
Nice comparison. Exceptional savings on those bullets but still incentive for some to consider casting, price drops by another 50% or more. As reloaders we very quickly learn that our best savings are on projectiles we cast and extending the life of our brass cases we use.
Hi Viejo thanks for the videos. Have you ever tried t&b cast polymer bullets. They are affordable and free shipping. Would like to see what you think of them.thanks
I have not used their bullets as I cast and powder coat my own so don’t really have the need to purchase theirs. I do use their tumbling media though. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment, Angel. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
That’s a good catch, Walks, and a reminder that folks need to develop their own loads when working with bullets that have no published load data. I did say that. lyman and Hornady give the figure of 5.2 as a max for the Hornady XTP bullet, and if I was using that bullet I would stick to Hornady’s data to work the load up. However Sierra, whose bullet is nearly identical in profile to the MG, offers 6.1 as a max. That’s the data I used to work up to this load. There are no signs of over pressure. I run the Sierra bullet seen in the video at the same data (0.4 gr below published max) with no issues. It does move fast. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Great info, and great shooting. Tks Walter!
Hiya, Hazz! Thanks for stopping by. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Another good one Walter!!
🤘🏼💪🏼🤟🏽👍🏼
Thanks, C-Dub. It has proven to be a good load. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
nice Walter and great range action !!!
Thanks, Bud! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
great video Walter
Thanks, Fudd! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

That was an awesome group and some nice flames coming off the revolver. Great video Walter I really enjoyed it.
Hi, Chris. Thanks. It’s always good to hear your opinions! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Another great video, thanks again. I may go over to the other channel have a question as a newbie for 44 spec/ 44 mag. thanks for the work
Good enough, Len. I’ll look for your question over there. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Good evening Walter 😉👊👍🇺🇸
Wow, Jerr! I didn’t even get to the other end of the house after hitting “publish” and you were already on it. You’re fast, man! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
There's gold in them there bullets.👍🤠🇺🇲

I may have order some of those after I get through the RMR bullets.
Thanks , Q. The MG bullets have been around for a while. They like to sell in bulk quantities, but do offer 100-rnd packs as well. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Nice shooting BTW
Thanks, Len. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Thanks for the video and information. That’s a good price for the bullets. Looks to be a good round.
Thanks, Dwayne. Yep.. good, usable round for my GP100’s. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. 🔫🤛🏻🇺🇸
Looks like a great load 👊🇺🇸
Hi, Jesse. It is a good one for 38. Faster than most of my other loads, but still not too much recoil. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

I have always heard good things about the Montana Gold bullets from fellow loaders/shooters.
These are the only MG bullets I’ve used, and they are “good to go” as far as I’m concerned. I like them. 🔫🤛🏻🇺🇸

Absolutely, Mike. Thanks for watching. Casting is just not for everyone, alas. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
@@viejo2a You're right there, casting does take a considerable increase in space and equipment but it is very satisfying to reach that point.
I use Montana Gold FMJ flat point in My 10mm auto they have always shot well
Hi, Mike. Thanks for coming by. I find the MG bullets to be a good bargain. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
They're gold alright!
Hey GGW 👋🏻. Thanks for coming along! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Nice load and shootin
Hi, Trees! Thanks. It is a little spicy, but runs well in the Ruger. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
👍🏻. Who makes the press mount?
Hi Gene. All my presses are mounted on InlineFabrication.com gear. Thanks for tuning in! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Evening sir 👉💨
Hi, Gene👋🏻 Thanks for stopping by! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Did You say 5.7grs of Unique ???
That's about .5grs above +P for the 158gr JHP ? I hope You misspoke, My Friend ?
