This game is epic, been playing it nonstop and its a lot bigger than you'd expect. The combat is well polished and exploring is a lot of fun. The leveling system is interesting too, makes you really think how you want to spend your points
A kick in the hairy styles...lol Sounds great, im glad i heard they have a text size setting, not being able to read a heavily text game is a deal breaker for me. Definitely on my wishlist. Thanks
Thank you! Lol your shouting out my joke is how I know we think a like. Also on the text size, it's no joke the large is legible but could still be a bit larger.
Oh this is a great game, adult themes, good rpg mechanics, choice and consequences, nice pixel art. It's the small touches that make it special, though. Dropping a torch when drawing a weapon, cool searching mechanic, lots of quests, free roam, enemies DON'T scale.. just a lot to like
I'm 💯 fine without voice acting. I like it that way, a nice throwback to old school RPGs. And I also like reading the texts out in my own version of how the characters sound like, lol. Overall, I really like this game. It's good.
I'm totally cool with them expressing their opinion, but I'm against trying to censor people by giving it a negative score. You're right it is weird, I didn't even notice it until I saw the review bombing.
Oh crap, did the DEI cult infect this games development? I was legit about to buy it on steam and was checking out reviews, once I saw Mortismols coverage... But I'm actively avoiding any DEI cult propaganda in my games. Thanks for the warning.
I for one likes that it doesn't have does Skyrim-style pointers everywhere, showing where to go & what to do. I really like how this game is a bit more...I dunno, "mature", or rather shunky, in it's design. Not a light hearted "simplified" RPG like Skyrim. Not that I dislike Skyrim, it just aims for a totally different style of gameplay.
I completely understand that. I think for me, i feel that way because I have to get through so many games so quickly. Lol and sometimes I get caught up in side quests and just completely forget what I was doing in the first place 😄
the comparison to divinity and baldur's gate doesn't apply at all. those are very very different games. if anything, this is indie 2d gothic, and that's what makes it great :)
I meant as far as presentation 😅 (top down, with little hand holding) i did say the combat was like Morbid Seven Acolytes. I definitely could've been more clear on that.
Yeah, so I didn't really like the game at first either cause of basically everything you talked about in the video, but I did eventually start enjoying the game i been getting in the habit of playing a few games at once so that possible could of had a reason why it took me a little longer to click with it too 😅 but im glad I didn't give up on it cause once you figure out the controls and how to level up I started to get into it more. Also is it really in the CRPG category And why?
This is my kind of genre. I like everything about this game, except possibly the pixel visuals. Might be GotY! Sidenote: your 'avatar' on the edge of the video is very distracting.
I got a quest bug yesterday and found that if you press F2 you can send a bug or stuck report. I did it and today i got a mail with my save file fix from the devs. Game is top tier when the combat clicks is awsome and the text is not boring so i have enjoy it so far like 7 hrs in.
Personally I felt the first hour or so sort of dragged, but who knows maybe I just had a hard time getting into it. For me the story really started to stick around the 2 hour mark. As for the bug, I'll pass that on to the publisher. I reviewed it on the switch so I never had an issue like that.
Sort of, it's with a spear. It seemed to be more about the actual mini game and less about like cataloging fish. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they expand upon it down the way.
@@nemA96 I played the Europa demo a couple months ago. I'd like to get the full game if I ever get the money for it. I've got a healthy backlog to tide me over until then.
Did I hear right - Drova is a crpg like Divinity, BG3... 😂😂 Drova is inspired by a game called Gothic - an immersive, non-linear, action RPG with an open world. Divinity and BG3 are turn-based crpgs. Your statement is terribly misleading and may turn people who are looking for action combat away from Drova.
That's more than fair, although I didn't say specifically BG3 just BG I meant as far as presentation and how you sort of have to figure everything out. When I was referring to combat i did make a comparison to Morbid: seven acolytes and I highlighted how important defense is. I'll try to watch how i word things in the future, that's for insight
Hearing that it was like BG for the switch while clearly being able to see gameplay (because I have eyes) pulled me into checking it out. Knowing it was like gothic was the cherry on top. Let people have their opinion. It still has BG aspirations to me and I’m 10 hours in. So… interpretations like his is what pulled me into checking the game out more, leading to my purchase.
Yeah it's like who really cares, outta all the things that are wrong with game launches right now. Why would you review bomb a game that runs great, has a ton of content, priced fairly. I'm cool with the customers/ complainers voicing their opinion, but to purposely try to ruin the sales of a game, maybe cause the studio to go under etc.
@@nemA96 As someone on the other side of things, I'll try to explain. We are trying to gatekeep modern day issues out of games. Especially anything fantasy. If you go into another world or another time, there's no way they would care about gender nonsense. The fact that gender selection is at the very start of the game and everyone is going to engage with the selection process, it's an in-your-face decision they chose to make a statement about. Ask the game creators if the selection Is it a big deal. If they answer no, then they should just make it male/female like games have done since they were created until just the last few years. I'm sure a quick patch could fix it right up. If they say it is a big deal, then they are "woke" and the majority of gamers want to vote with their wallets to teach companies that spread this nonsense that we don't want it now or ever. It may seem small, but things snowball if you don't take action immediately. Remember when everything started with a simple refusal to write on a wedding cake and now the alphabet crew have an month of "pride", a flag, and they try to spread their influence into everything. Look what they've done to the movie industry the past several years. People have had enough and we are trying to send the message, "No more!".
@@nemA96 I can at least understand why people are upset, because more often than not there are really weird political design elements in a game with woke gender options.
Good lord... Who cares? Why are you (or anyone) whining about options in a video game like it matters? It would be one thing if they left something out, but you're literally "upset" and crying over them having various options in a character selection screen... That is what hurts you emotionally? 😂 On top of that, you appear to think there's some grand political conspiracy to brainwash you, as if that hasn't already happened yet, seeing as you're worried about total nonsense that has no practical effect on your life. 🤣
@@RyanStillGames This discussion is wearisome, I just wanted to say, that people are upset about it, because there is a lot of political messaging in games today.
The game looks cool, but the developer is not. There's reviews being taken down, threads being locked, and posts being deketed. Most just expressing wanting to play as a man or women. People are tired of the made up gender nonsense, well most people so this pc stuff is very irksome. People just want to play games and escape, theres no such thing as non bianary and gender does relate to sex no matter what anyone says. You can pretend and make up whatever you want but you can't expect eveyone to play along with your fantasy. Now is it that big of a deal with the limited androgynous charater maker? In thd grand scheme no, but it would be super easy to add more options and male and female characters instead of the two limited choices. Although the pixel graphics are pretty low res so... But anyways I think people just want to get their side out and after being banned and insulted, they do the only thing they can to try to express themselves. Most point out that the game is ok, it's just they way they've been censored and the devs high and might pompous attitude. That rubs people the wrong way. Plus he lied about deleting threads, not good. People (mostly insecure) get a bit of power and it goes to their head. So while not a huge deal it could of been handled much better. Me, I'm going to check out the pc version once they get text sizing options in because I've got bad near vision.
I think it's kind of funny, but in some ways, I think we're both saying the same thing to an extent. As you said, people just want to escape. " I completely agree. Although in a made-up world with ancient spirits, magic, etc, maybe they don't only have man and woman. I just feel like some people are so hyper focused on these things. Honestly, I didn't even notice it when I created a character. As you pointed out, the visuals are so low res I really wasn't even sure if my character was a man, woman, beast, etc. lol. I do, however, think we see eye to eye on not wanting an agenda pushed on us. I'm completely cool with people voicing their opinion, I'm just against cancel culture on both sides. I think a game like Stellar Blade should exist as well as Dust Born, I'm just against people wanting to cancel something if they don't agree. Freedom of speech is incredibly important to me. As for the devs, I never said they're cool or good people. I have no idea who they are, I just said they took alot of care in making this game.
