GREAT VIDEO!! to the point and well filmed IMO... if i may hijack ... i have seen on another youtube vide the mechanic used dental floss wrapped around the two little black the holders which he then fed dental floss through the hole an pulled it through..... i see u used carb cleaner and a little screw driver and that worked well for u ... just wanted to point this out for anyone struggling ... THANK YOU FOR SHARING!
While putting in the small diaphragms, the small rubber button has a hole in the center. A small Allen Wrench inserted can push the button through the hole, with some WD-40 lube.
Those plastic disks are check valves. Isopropyl alcohol will let the rubber slide in easy. Carb spray can contain chemicals that can make rubber swell or destroy plastic.
Awesome video! Thank you! I Just bought two 1996 Indy 488s for my wife and I. What would be an indication for fuel pump failure? My truck had one go out but it was electric and just quit. I have never owned something with mechanical fuel pump before. Thank you!!
Ive been trying to understand the routing of things on these style pumps because yes i forgot what line goes were.i would assume motor pulse or suction goes to top and fuel in goes to bottom diaphram and then those two little one way valves allow the pulse too push fuel out the two center nipples to flow thru carbs??does that sound like the proper flow of this type pumps.those arrows are misleading!!snooky pa.💥👌💥👍
Would you know if the circle and rectangle ones are interchangeable. If I had a circle one and bought a rectangle one off eBay would it work? Also what’s the hose connector on top for?
I have a battery and a starter for my 95 XLT.....have you heard of anyone using an electric fuel pump? And If so what size and type of fuel pump? How was it installed?
I do have a video on a pulse coil replacement on a Polaris Sportsman. I'll have to look and see if I posted the diagnostic process. If so, I'll come back with the link.
@@nogripes pulse coil ??? my bad i should have said fuel pump pulse setup.. i pulled pump apart. both sides seem ok no pin holes that i could find. on a triple 680 polaris. no idea unless theres no pulse to the pump. how to check it so on
Some older models have screws instead of rubber grommets. If this guy knew his shit he would tell people before they fight to get them on just to have to take them out.

There's a hole in the rubber plugs to push them through with a small flat tool(finishing nail head). But as long as they're in.

I was a little concerned when I found that two of the gaskets I removed ( rubber ) were much thinner that the ones that came with the rebuild kit.

Ethanol is everyone's friend. Get that nasty gas out of the system at the end of each season. I've learned the hard way.
noone talks about the pulse. how to check if you have one on ur motor. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
