Just wondering but I have an atc 200es and i have a hot wire from the stator loose and im not sure if i try to solder it back together and heat shrink or if theres a better way. its pretty close to the case so a bit worried about it but its enough wire to tape together for now and it runs perfectly other then that coming loose. just need to fix that and front tire and wheel bearings and its ready for the trail.
My 84 200 has wires chopped up all over front of it. Got spark bu weak. Will fire up but guy who gave it to me said shaft isn't long enough to connect in middle.
Hey Harvey I got a big question for you I know this is a old video but I have a 1986 Honda TRX 200SX it was running I was hooking it up to the trailer and it just shut off seems like I have no spark but I do not know how it did it or what might have happened

i have a 1984 honda trx 200 it will start and run and then quits. i have checked and it has spark and then it doesn't i have cleaned the ground on the frame and checked conections on coil and they look good. i am lost here, checked gap on pluser and it is good cleaned magnet and pluser still itermitent spark.

i just picked one of these up today for $200.00. plastics are a wreck,seat shot,wiring a disaster,and a 3 wheeler gas tank siting on it. it seems to have decent compression,aluminum rear wheels and good rear tires. hopefully i can get it runing and its not a smoker,might need to do your cdi hack trick

hello my name is jerry i also have a honda trx 200 cc 1984 i got her for $60 it had no fire after several failed attempts at cdi boxes and coils plugs and a stator by old owner . i also had looked at the basics upon inspection of the cdi pulse coil noticed sever can movement .the cam was making contact with the pick up swaped the head and cam and piston cyl forma a xl 250 1984 all back together now was the fun part timing her she runs now thank god lol
Can you make a video of how you would wire the spider bike with just the basics needed? No lights, no electric start and toggle switch. Your videos have been absolutely helpful with us building our 1983 110! Keep up the great work!
I have a 1986 trx 200 sx and am having spark issues, I have replaced the coil, spark plug , kill switch, and cleaned the Carb but all I get is a little spark then after 15-20 it cuts of like I flipped the switch. Im really getting bummed out any thoughts?
You need to get someone else to run the camera so we can see the whole thing your camera is not showing everything.. Other than that it would probably be a very good video😇
Can you please make a video to show how to fix a dead ground wire from stator? 84 200m....runs but there is no ground at the green wire from stator so it's running off case ground and stator+..... But she has no power
Hey Dillon!!! It looks like the ground for the 3 stator windings that power the regulator and then the 12VDC part of the 200M and the 4th stator winding that powers the CDI unit all go thru the motors case, I looked at an ebay image as I don't have one loose in my hands, but, that is what it looked like to me.... So, I would make sure that the spots where the stator assembly bolts to the engine block are real clean, no oil, no grease, and no corrosion.... I hope this helps, next time I am near a 200M harness I will look at the wires coming out of the engine.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!!

Hey buddy I got a FourTrax 86 200 TRX SX and I got weak spark and change carburetor got a new carburetor new ignition new coil CDI and still won't run I got plenty of compression and the fuel compression are good and it's got weak spark
Edward Tomlin did you ever find your problem? Got a 91 model 200trx also and it stopped getting fire. No fire at all. New cdi and ignition coil and still no fire.
do you have link to video you made? also having wiring trouble on 84 trx 200 bought new ignition starter solenoid cdi new handlebar switches still having no power to handle bar other than headlight switch turns on headlight. can take a wire and jump from battery positive to solenoid and it turns over fine after many many hours just at a lost
First I would like to say Mr Harvey spooner you are awesome.....i have been able to fix so many of my projects because of your easy to follow videos...please help me..i have a 1984 xr80 with no spark....i am not familiar with this type system....there is only 1 wire coming out of motor...it is hooked up behind flywheel.. Please help....i really need to get this bike fired up because my wife didnt want me to buy it and I hate when she is right
Hey Badass!!! I think Ur bike has points, that means this wire goes to the primary side of spark coil and to a capacitor that should be on or next to that coil, and to the off button, if U short this lead to ground, the ignition turns off... I would leave off the off button for now... I hope this helps.... Thanks for the kind words, asking, watching, and commenting.... BTW, it is much better for U to spend Ur $ on vintage Honda cycles than drink, drugs, women, or most other things.... A Honda cycle is a better investment!!

I do not have a condenser by my coil. A d after watching a video you nade a out testing coil I get a reading of around 2 something so I swapped it with a coil that reads around 4. Now as for condenser...i have one that is for a lawnmower I think...could it possibly work?

allo Harvey you are one of the best tech on you tube for this atv . i dont know if you can help me out . I have a trx 200 1984 and the revese light is always on . the only way to close that revese light is to remove the cdi . so i bought a new one from china and still the revese switch light is on . i have follow the grey wire from the revese lith to the cdi was ok , do you have any idea what the probleme ? thank you
ill bet you get both those bikes up and running. very cool seeing you troubleshoot the challenges. nice dirt bike there in the shed. I have a 1976 Kawasaki Ke 125. with tons of original parts. dirt bikes are my thing just because they are a bit cheaper than the 3-4 wheelers which I prefer. onward.
TREE HUGGAH , I had a Kawasaki 2 stroke 125, old school, loved the bike! Probably from the 70's, was light for the year it was built, had a good feel. It seems that if a Honda ATC can possibly run, I can make it run in a short period of time. Keep Ur eyes opened, sometimes ATCs/ATVs show up at scrap yards and can be had for a reasonable cost. i have two honda 350 trx ones 4x4 and the other 2x4 parked for years befor i got them but no harness on one

no joke that's the hole to help take the fly weel off the timing chain is inside the wall
