Russell Thompkins jr.....the lead singer on Stylistic songs. Still singing fantastically with that amazing voice at 70 years old. 2 of the backup were also with him in early days. As is his conductor, choreographer and many of his band members. Keep giving them the real thing Russell. Keep touring. Love it!! 🎶🎤🎶

I keep seeing the original Stylistics but always wondered what happened to Russell, now I know he's doing what he does best - Singing!

I saw the original group back in the day with Russell!!! Let me just say there is nothing quite as amazing as the Stylistics! So much soul to last a lifetime! My memories will never fade of them and those days back in school ... Bettcha By Golly Wow!

A friend of mine caught Russell Thomkins' Stylistics with The Whispers. They met Levell Degree of heWhispers catching their show. He told him every night he came out just tohear this great voice. Thats one helluva compliment.
WOW, if this was live Russell Thompkins sure sounded really smooth. wished he was the lead singer we were listening to when the Stylistics played at the MACC on Maui instead of Eban Brown.
You didn't get the real deal...you got a guy who was hired to imitate Russell. Just a tribute group.
The first time i saw Russel jr. and the original Stylistics was in N.Y.C. when they made their first hit "You're A Big Girl Now". They gave a mini concert of their first songs on 112th st.and Madison ave. in the Taft prodjects [East Harlem]. The next time was at the Appollo with the "Godfather of Soul" James Brown in 1971. Great show.
One of the best falsetto tenors to ever live. Listen to the live band behind them these young entertainers wouldn't know what to do with them so used to singing with tracks. This told the truth between real performers and imitators. If you can sing live and sound like the cd without inhancements you are a true entertainers.

Wow. Still sounding great after all of these years. I tell you Russell has one of the most beautiful voices and it's so amazing how he's taken good care of his gift from God. I Grew up on The Stylistics music back in the '70's. So much great music from that era, and The Stylistics' right there in the mix.
Russell has gotten better with age because: he took a year to rest his voice, he doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, runs each day, stays on healthy diet.... and he sings daily in his studio....cuts recording albums....
Really takes care of himself with the help and support of his wife of over 50 years..... while the Voices of the " other two" have gotten overtaxed and pitchy and Crack according to those who have seen them lately. Russell is real deal.

I just wish that Russell Thompkins jr had recorded more songs in his beautiful tenor voice. He does on his solo albums he cut after leaving the group and going on with his new Stylistics.

This brings back such memories! I saw the original Stylistics around early to mid 90's before Russell went on his own. I shot lots of pictures and when he sang this song ... I lost it ... started crying it was so awesome hearing this live! Held that camera to my eyes so no one saw my tears ... but others around me looked pretty choked up too. Love it! Thank You!

I remember seeing him and the original group here in my hometown Cleveland at the Front Row and they gave a stellar performance. That was one of the best concert I had ever been to. Russell sounds the same as he did in 74. He has not missed a beat. What a gift he has. Thank you so much. I remember that night vivdly. It was a beautiful experience.

Stunning performance! Falsetto's usually don't age well. Eddie Kendricks's voice was basically gone by his early 40s. Obviously, Russell has taken care of his voice, which is a great national treasure.

I have a DVD featuring a live concert by The Stylistics and it included 2 of the original members of the group - but doesn't include Russell. So it's good, but it somehow is not the same. I should know - saw them 5 times back in their fame, both 5 and 4 person line ups - and who was that guy Don who performed a storming version of Bad Luck each time before The Stylistics came on stage? Just great days, and great to see Russell performing again on RUclips.

I know ... I saw the original group back in the mid 90's or so and Russell brought me to tears hearing this wonderful Philly Soul LIVE! Nothing else like it! Wasn't all that long ago, but them was some great times!

You cannot beat Russell's beautiful falsetto. The man is amazing. It's a shame there are TWO groups (ie The Stylistics and Russ's New Stylistics) in existence simultaneously, the other Stylistics are very good, but without Russell -- they're a mess.

That Philly Soul of the 70s was a great era. You had Teddy doing some great songs in baritone. Then on the other side of town Blue Magic and also the Stylistics.

Name the classics and one will recall the man's amazing falsetto on "Betcha By Golly Wow', "Stop, Look, Listen", " Peek-a-Boo", "You're as Right as Rain", "Break Up to Make Up", "Children of the Night", "You Are Everything", etc. Russell rules!
