I wish the 1970s were still here. This song reminds me of my oldest brother, Melvin. Whenever I hear this song, I can still see him washing & waxing his 1975 Ford Mercury in the front yard. The 8-track tape player in his car would be blasting "The Stylistics," "Earth, Wind & Fire," and "The Ohio Players." Rest in peace, Melvin.

May I recommend to you the Time Life collection of seventies soul music? It is worth the price......7 CDs of the great classics from this period. Go to Timelife.com, that should bring it up....

The Stylistics were Motown's greatest group. HANDS DOWN. The gorgeous high falsetto of Russell Tompkins Jr. set the tone for a musical montage unequaled in that genre. Even the greatest groups have songs that miss the mark and leave the listener cold. Every song from the Stylistics was a 24 karat diamond. Thank God for You Tube and instant access to these superlative classics.

wishing this type of music or more peaceful world return 😢it never will because the people coming up and growing up nowadays are a different breed altogether, and this whole world has changed forever for the worse! People no longer value their own lives let alone another person’s, look at how nothing made nowadays has any real value.. look at how expensive everything is and yet not worth the expense. Cheap throw away Cars, Trucks, Houses, Clothes, Furniture, Computers, TV,s, Shoes, Washing Machines, Dryers, Refrigerators, Microwave Ovens, everything has gone from being well made with excellent quality and materials to Extremely expensive Cheaply made poor quality from the cheapest materials.. this should be on the law books as a Felony Crime! This just shows you why we have so much greed and waste in our country, if I were running for president of the United States? I would change so many things and laws to get us back to being the strong, prosperous, healthy, productive country we were once

Barbara I agree with you 100 percent! I grew up with this music, dance to it, brought their songs back it came in cassettes and vinyl records. Russell Thompkins Jr. to me has one of the best falsetto voice ever. Giving the late Harry Ray, the late AL Goodman and Billy Brown from the original group the Moments a run for their money, also Philip Bailey, the lead singer for many, many with Earth Wind and Fire as well. This kind of music sadly doesn't come around anymore! God how I miss this kind of music and those days! Ciao, Frank.

Time stops for me when I play this, I am amazed of all the great music that came out of the "60"s and wandered into the "70"s to satisfy my need to listen to great music such as "Betcha By Golly Wow" by the Stylistics! The memories will always be in my heart. 💖💯💥

I attended a private boarding school … with only 150 students, the school was struggling a bit financially. One year, I was in Grade 10, the headmaster accepted several scholarship students from inner city neighborhoods (Watts, Compton, Oakland, Berkeley) as I believe he received government matching funds to host these students. Musically and culturally it was an education for me, a suburban white kid. As a result I heard The Stylistics, The O’Jays, The Spinners, Curtis Mayfield, Joe Tex, etc. for the first time … amazing! 🙂🤜🏼🤛🏾

Truth. Yes, Gamble & Huff did their thing but without Thom Bell, the MOST important part of the Mighty Three, we wouldn’t have such beautiful tunes. That’s Bell’s writing, composing & arrangement you’re hearing. He is indeed a genius. Respect.

This song reminds me when I was on Okinawa with the Marines. It reminds me of a girl I was madly in love with. I did write to her while I was still on Okinawa. I got a letter back, but no return address. Well that's life. I never met her face to face. I guess she was like everyone else in those days, hated Military personell especially Marines. I'm proud of my service. 73-77.

We lived two blocks away from my school.
    In the fall of 71
I'd run home everyday for lunch.
I could smell my moms cooking as soon as I reached our porch.
As I entered I could hear the stylistics coming through the radio on the kitchen table.
