I was 15 years old at the time my Father used to play the Stylistics until he wore it out. I learned how to sing with different ranges I thank Father for playing great music. It taught me a valuable lesson in life. Stylistics every song was a hit.
Russell's voice is truly a gift from God! Love it and all their music! Great music will never die! So happy they are still doing concerts! Hope I am lucky enough to see one! 😀

It's sad that Russell left the band, but I know that the band did not have the same backing musicians all through their tours anyway. I would go see Russell and his "New Stylistics" before I'd go see Eban's "Stylistics." Just the way I feel about that man's voice! No one can compare!

While stationed overseas in Japan I was privileged to catch these guys show and I was right up on them and they were great and they still are today I also grew up with them in the 70's professionnels

I played on some of the original Stylistics hits at Sigma Sound Studios 12th and Race , and 309 S Broad. I also played on the road in their backing band, The Philadelphia Sound. THE ORIGINAL STYLISTICS NEVER SOUNDED THIS GOOD! Russ and Rainbow Johnson put fire back in these great Linda Creed and Thom Bell productions. If Russell Thompkins jr isn't singing, it's not the Stylistics!

Totally agree. Eban did a better job with The Delfonics lead, when he was a little younger. When he "does" Russell's parts, his imitations are not even authentic to Russell's full enunciation of THE lyrics. He just comes up with broken falcetto which detracts from the integrity of the song and sound.
