    Have you seen the video of making waterproof tarps?
    Pretty simple
    You need a pail ,the size of what you want to use
    One tube of pure clear silicone and mineral spirits
    Mix well and dunk whatever you want to water proof
    Hang in the sun
    Use disposable dish gloves ..
    I thought about redoing my rain gear and tent tarp
    Done bedsheet and it worked great for improvised shelter .
    Obviously don’t use on tent as the smell might persist
    Longer you leave it out hanging the better.
    Keep on riding!

    I'll never forget this.
    Crossing the Mississippi one summer night at Red Wing, MN. I could see this glitter shimmering on the road in my rear view mirrors, turns out it was Mayfly wings. On the eastern bridge the flies were a half inch thick on the road. They were hatching out of the larval stage in the water and ended up in the road. The police were there directing traffic down to one lane because it was like driving on grease. Never saw anything like it.

    I always head out west for four or five weeks every year. I waited for it to get too hot this year, so I plan on going in September. I want to visit Sage Mountain in Montana to check it out. I have a couple of BMW motorcycles: a 2005 Dakar and a new G650GS. I always travel on my Dakar; it's the most dependable motorcycle I've ever owned, and I've owned a few. Be safe...Greetings from Murfreesboro, Tennessee!

    I've had a tensioner spring do the same thing on another piece of equipment. The spring just cuts its way through the softer steel of the bracket

    I'd be VERY cautious ordering parts from EBay, I've had a number of experiences and so have friends. For example you may order a part for a Honda and it looks super legit, it even comes in a "Honda" box with "Honda" silk screened on the part but it's fake Chinese made CRAP that will fail very quickly. IMO for internal engine components I would only go thru a reputable dealer...just my $.02

  • @GratefulBamboo
    @GratefulBamboo Месяц назад +2

    Since it appears the new tensioner is same as old one, will you need to replace them every 27,000 miles ? That would kinda suck. Any company make an upgrade perhaps ?

    • @dirtymotorcyclevagabond
      @dirtymotorcyclevagabond  Месяц назад

      The new one looked a tiny bit different, but it was hard to tell bcos the other was so worn out. Gonna suck if I gotta do this every 27k

    How many miles do you usually ride daily when traveling to the Sturgis event? Assuming good weather and no Motorcycle issues. BTW $40 for a Hotel room is miraculous. I'm glad things worked out well for you.

  • @phillipdaulton9861
    @phillipdaulton9861 Месяц назад +1

    Remove the plug from that clear tube hanging down and let the oil inside of it out. Keep the plug out so oil will vent out on its own and not accumulate like it has.
