Thank you for this episode! It makes me so sad to see all the negativity in the social media grooming groups. I love this industry and want nothing more than to try and make it better. When I do comment on a post, which isn't often, I always do my best to educate in a way that isn't taken wrong instead of being accusatory or trying to iniatiate an argument. Literally nothing good comes from arguing.
I've always believed in the saying, "be the change you want to see".
    Lead by example❤
    You guys rock 🎉

Loved this weeks episode. Especially after the last couple weeks of content being put out on social media by influencers.

I'm nearsighted and I love the idea of taking off your glasses to be able to focus on you and the dog Katie! 😅 It honestly will help strengthen your eyes if you take your glasses off here and there but idk about for a whole competition.
😂 I'd be cool with not being able to see the crowd though. I haven't competed yet though either. I think I could complete a groom on my own but I'm still apprenticing and not 100% confident on my own ❤ love you guys! Thank you for being yourselves and for such great content!

I just moved from Washington state to Las Vegas. I went to 3 interviews and maybe I just chose the wrong locations and need to look harder but I really had to choose the the lesser of the evils. Mainly, like Nathan said; older generation thinking but the tubs are out of date, all 3 are grooming, bathing and drying in one room. Sanitation is questionable, routine and training is none. I’ve had to educate my bather who was thrown in to this 3 months prior to me coming in and she didn’t know we have to sanitize kennels after every dog. The pay and respect by clientele has been degrading. I went to the Northwest show and was so impressed by all of you and completely had new goals and was ready to look into getting my masters and competing next year, which I’m still planning but when I mentioned it to my employer or co workers they kind of looked at me like I had 3 heads. All age ranges too. I think what I agree with the original posr is, more owners young and older need to be more accepting of going to trade shows and letting the groomers take time off to go and get further education. People of the world need to have better influence on what it is we do and we somehow need to find a way to get the populous to respect this industry. Yes, it has gotten better.. my last salon in Port Orchard WA was a dream. I told the owner all the time she should write a book on how this should be done. I’ve been in it for 20 years, and yes it’s definitely better; but I wish there was more of a positive influence in the world for people who don’t know what it is to be a dog groomer and help educate so we may one day be fully respected as dog groomers and our craft. Yall are amazing! Hope to see yall at super zoo! (Which im currently begging my salon owner to allow me to have time off to go to 😅)

I think everyone in this industry should be proud we are the only government unregulated trade in the USA. We do not need government intrusion to take care of our clients.

As a newer groomer who wants to step into competitions, what shows do you think would be best to start in? I’m not about to do Hershey as my first 🤣 lol
