Installing fuel pump on a 72 F250, same issue as you had in the video, hopefully cranking the engine a few times will also solve my problem. Spend a whole hour trying to install pump with no success, glad I found your video. Thanks for sharing.

No it’s not necessary. I just blocked off the line to the fuel pump with some duct tape. :) but if you’re going to leave it disconnected for a while, days, it may be best to drain the tank so it doesn’t leak over time.
@CMOSX thank you. I gotta stupid question. As Im new to rebuilding engines and I just got this inline 6 but theres a hole just below the fuel pump leaking oil. That's supposed to have a bolt in it right?
Great video, just what I need. My Mustang has power steering, it looks like you don't and have easier access to the pump. Is that correct? I may have to remove the power steering pump to make room. What is your thought. Again, thanks so much for the video. :)
The cater pump wouldn’t interfere with the power steering pump. The difference between the two pumps is basically the Carter is longer but has the same mounting points. So you shouldn’t have an issue with the install. Your best bet to installing the pump and not removing the power steering would be to jack the car up, remove the driver side tire and install the pump from underneath.
@@CMOSX I have 65 mustang with power steering I just started on this install today. There's no way of doing this fuel pump install WITHOUT removing the power steering pump bracket. I also took off the wheel but theres no need it gives no better access. Just jack up the car and pull off the PS pump and its bracket and you can stow the whole thing in the front corner for full access to the petrol pump. Sorry, fuel pump. I just crank the engine by hand until it's on the flat part of the lobe.
The diaphragm of the pump will rot out after it sits for many years. The truck I bought had the pump dumping fuel into oil pan. Truck sat for twenty years.
It's been a month since you commented so you probably already figured it out but the oil & coolant have nothing to do with your fuel. Simply disconnect the two lines, one is a 1/2 nut one is a pinch clamp. Then you have two 1/2 bolts holding the pump and when you remove it nothing comes out. Some fuel will come out of the lines you disconnected but not much.
Hey Negan, My blue Holley elect fuel pump quit on me the other day as it overheated, but cooled down so I could start it and get the beast home without a tow truck. I hate elect fuel pumps and wanted a Holley manual 7 -14 psi for carb setup prostreet built 460 big block. They were like $190. There was a sale on the Holley sniper pump for half that so I put that on. Much quieter than the Blue pump was. Money is tight right now thanks to that Commie Idiot Brandon, so have to watch my spending. 93 octane gas is $5 a gallon in Michigan, but cheaper than what you pay in Cali I'd bet. Still have a couple of projects left to finish on the 67. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Terminus.

Do you need any silicon or sealant along with the provided gaskets?
