I know how you feel with the upgrades there are so many, what I currently hate is studios like Paramount and Universal both releasing a bluray and then putting out that same film 6-8 months later. Crimes of the Future got a bluray and then Second Sight gave us a 4K upgrade with all the bells and whistles. I love criterion hence my channel name but they don't do much new with their 4K packaging upgrades. 4K especially Videodrome packaging is exactly the same as the Blu-Ray. Same features, same booklet/fold-out. the only difference is they have to change the text on the rear cover.
I know the pain, upgrading to a 4K from an already great Blu Ray or even buying two different 4Ks because of different extras. Did that with David Lynchs Dune. Bought the Limited Arrow 4K and the German 4K, because that has the feature length documentary Arrow wasn't willing to wait for a couple of months before releasing their 4K.
What are those figures you have on your shelf? Are they Funko? Looks like Phantom of the opera and black lagoon creature sitting in chairs holding popcorn? Do they come with all that or you bought the accessories separate?
They’re the universal monster line from Pop Mart. They are mystery box figures but I bought the whole set and did an unboxing a few months ago on the channel.
If it is favourite film and the extras are different, I would definitely be happy to get both. In many cases, it just gets a little confusing to which one to go for, made even worse with blu ray (and regions), at least 4K that generally is not an issue.
Price - and if I don't already have it on Blu-ray -are 2 criteria for buying a 4K. Here in Australia - they have basically given up releasing stuff - and any 4Ks are just popular, successful BO titles - nothing more. Added - what 'more' would you like to SEE on some 4K titles ?? Yes - Lawrence of Arabia, Apolcalypse Now, The Blues Brothers are EXCELLENT examples of 4K - but, what more an I going to get out of Fatal Attraction, Flashdance, and worse.. Mean Girls ?? With prices increasing for 4K only stuff - I've just given up ! - I have far far far too much on Blu-ray and that's all that I need - I'm watching the film, the story, not the pixels : you need to give me a good reason to 'upgrade' and a far cheaper price
It’s arguably his best, which seems to be the main consensus. It’s not my favourite of his but it’s probably second or third on my list of his films. Definitely worth checking out

I've never seen Videodrome. Will definitely pick up this Cronenberg film soon I've heard nothing but good things.
