For a guy that says he's doesn't have much experience, you did a great job. I was looking for someway to keep all the electrical neat. This cabinet is the best. Thanx for the idea.
Glad I watched your video. I need a cabinet for locomotive storage and watching your build of the electrical cabinet gave me a great starting point. Your build and time lapse showed me what I need and how to do it. Thanks a heep and big ups too you!!! Your daughter dancing while you work was funny!!!!!!!!
That's great glad I could help. I have to install doors on the cabinet, because my wonderful daughter has figured out how to turn the system on! Oh boy!
To get a real nice look on your plexiglass doors first run around the edges with some #140-160 grit sandpaper around a sanding block to knock off the kerf marks. Then go along the edge with a propane torch with a 3/8 - 1/2" nozzle held about 3/4 - 1" away from the edge. This is called "glassing the edge", and really gives it a finished look. Move quickly and steadily, don't stay in one spot too long. Practice on some of your scrap pieces first to find your distance and rate of speed.. It's pretty easy and makes the edge nice and clear.. Joe, did you get the plexyglass doors on the electrical cabinet? Can you show us the end result and let us know how the process went for installing the doors? Thanks.
Joe, I'm ready to build a cabinet like yours, what are the dimensions : height ,width and depth? I can adjust from there, I just need a starting point. Thanks, Bill
William Arseneau sorry I haven't gotten back sooner! You should have emailed me I forgot! The cabinet is 44" tall, 30" wide 20" deep, each self is 6" high. I started at the top and went down for the spacing on the selves. Hope that helps!
