2-3 years later and I now can say through experience that GERBERS 420HC is freaking awesome.... I can also say that the Schrade was ok but mine had a major grind issue from the factory that couldn't be fixed. Schrades heat treat is also very unpredictable. USA Gerber 420HC from my personal use is totally comparable to 1095 , its just slightly softer for ease of sharpening in the field.
I just love how informative this is, the fact that almost everything that he said is very factual and not just "in my opinion". I really loved this review. Keep up!
The strongarm saved my ass this year. I was in my tree stand deer hunting when on my wat up the tree my stand sliped and hung me upside down. Knowing i was in trouble hanging upside down i grabed my gerber and stuck it in tree were i could raise myself up. Then in 1 hand i held on while cutting my safety line and freeing myself. I was thinking about writting to gerber and telling them my story.
Love your reviews. Always surprised how often you will push your blades into a rock though. Watching this made me think this way: If I want a great sheath, go w/ the Gerber. If I think I'll need to fight with it, go with the Gerber. But I'm not a soldier and I'm probably buying a camp/hiking/outdoors knife (not a sheath). They'll both cut paracord, a seatbelt, whatever box I have in front of me, and process down firewood. But the Schrade, with a recurve blade (which I strongly prefer), will cut better, cut deeper, gut smoother and, since I' haven't needed to stab anyone yet, probably suit my needs more.
I just got the green-handle Gerber but only for everyday basic uses. It seems well worth the money, made tough, easy to sharpen, very nice sheath. Gerber's not a combat knife, it's a good basic survival and EDC and outdoorsman/camping knife. Mine definitely says Made in USA as well.
That's funny I was looking at it the other way. The gerber is a better all rounder and if I want to do serious bush crafting I am better off with a Mora. But I dig a hole and chop fire kindling more reliably with the strong arm. Just bought a strong arm and am very impressed. But yours is a fair point all the same. Now I need a schrade haha.
At the end of the day both are good general purpose large utility knives and it just boils down to personal preference depending on how some one chooses to label themselves.
Great review of two good knives. I bought the Strongarm after your first review and have to say it is, without a doubt one of the most comfortable knives in hand, I have ever had. The sheath is fabulous, very well thought out to offer almost any option for carrying. The Schrade is very good also, Taylor brands has really stepped up there game in the last two or three years, and offer some great choices. Keep up the great videos, I dont always agree with you but you are always fair.
Hi friend, you can also try kubey knife, which selling all kinds of folding knife. I am using the lock mini pocket folding knife with clip. kubeyknife.com/kubey-integral-lock-mini-pocket-folding-knife-with-clip-12c27-drop-point-blade-stainless-steel.html
I Love my Strongarm.. it's tough, holds a great edge and does what I need it to do. Have had 0 issues from it.. the grip is perfectly grippy with 0 slip. Chops, cuts and is a great EDC for in and out of the sticks. Plus it's American Made! Not a big Schrade fan and by the looks, the grip looks like it could slip meaning lost knife or injury to thy self. But, to each their own. Everyone has there personal preference when it comes to anything. If you need to, Gerber makes plenty of fixed straight edge blades.. another thing I Love about the Strongarm is the choice in Color and straight edge or serrated blades. But as I said it all comes down to personal preference, and my personal preference is the Strongarm with the straight edge.
Yup, the Strongarm is one of the years best knives. 'Softer' stainless is finally finding its place in the knife world - mid sized fixed blades. I hammered the strongarm into a tree and stood on the far end and it was unscathed. US production, classic looks, increased versatility through simplicity. I'd choose the strongarm over a lot of the 4-6 inch crowd. The schrade definitely has its place, but its appeal isnt as broad. I've just been busy selling lots of my knives to keep the blades flowing, but I couldn't let the strongarm go.
Picked up the Schrade on a whim not too long ago. Didn't like the scale material at all. But before I just threw the stock handles out, I figured I'd see if they could be stippled. It worked fantastically!! Still have them on the knife. Been beating the brakes out of this thing since the day I got it. Great choice for a knife you can use hard and not cry over if you lose or damage it.
Cheap grip tape is a necessary upgrade to the 42. This is also a sheath issue because the retension strap on my 42's sheath is tight enough that a little grip tape on the handle makes it difficult to snap. While I am happy with the Schrade, I am a bit envious of the Gerber's sheath.
+imsuckingwind I despise most of Gerber's stuff as it has just been crap, marketed at kids and BG fanboys... But the strongarm seems decent. I'd still take a becker over it though.
Personally, I have never been a fan of Gerber, but I am a fan of the Strongarm. Reluctantly, I bought one a while back, and after a ton of vigorous use, I've found that it holds up outstandingly well. I wouldnt trade it for the world at this point.
Thanks for the informative review. I am building my EDC/GHB on a limited budget. Currently I am working on upgrading my pack since some of the clips broke on the one I have, (It was a cheap starter bag). Once I get that done I will move to a decent knife and then flashlight. This review helps immensely when trying to decide which knife to consider. Ken T
Great review as always! So 4 years later the Gerber has increased to 70 bucks! The Schrade us still 46 bucks. Both cool knives for different purposes as you pointed out. Forgetting the huge price difference for now, in this size i'd go Schrade because for a more utilitarian/fighting/survival type knife the Gerber is too small for my preferences. And now at 70 bucks for a sub-5 inch 420HC steel, albeit well made knife, that totally eliminates the Gerber. A lot better options out there for a lot less money.
Aaron, I have R.A. and I've always used a Lansky's kit to sharpen my blades, but I'm going to HAVE to go to a Worksharp Electronic System and I love that Strongarm, do you think a Worksharp Electronic is good for it or should I get the bench stone system like you use? does anyone else out there have thoughts about this? Thanks.
I have the smaller SCHF55 and so I know what the 42 is like in terms of quality and such. I find this an odd comparison as in my mind they are very different. I think it would have been a good idea to have had a few more knives, because this was different. It wasn't a "Which is best?" video, but more about making a choice. I also would have liked to see the serrated version as well. You showed us two good knives and demonstrated their strengths and weakness without exagerrating or bashing one model and for that reason I liked watching this video. What I would like to see is a comparison of the Strongarm, the Gerber Prodigy, and the LMF 2. It sort of confuses and baffles me that Gerber is offering all three. Also nobody has mentioned or reviewed the Prodigy Coyote with the fine edge (No serrations) and the ceramic coated blade. I have seen the Strongarm in the clam shell package, but have only actually handled the new Prodigy and I love the handle, but they're the same price. So is one really better than the other/s or is just about having choices?
Well, it’s the Schrade for me. Love that re-curve, I have the SCHF9 and the re-curve, as well as the taller height of the blade, just fits me better. Great job on the video, by the way, as usual. Smooth, no stuttering to speak of, to the point with lots of info delivered with a fine handle on brevity. Thanks.
I was honestly looking around to see what my next knife would be. But I count myself in the Be prepared for almost any situation survival knife. I was leaning towards the Gerber but the Schrade seems like more useful for what I think I might need it for. The schrade's also cheaper on Amazon than the non serrated Strong arm. The only problem I have and what other people don't like is the curved belly. Other than that though amazing knife!
I have only the Gerber. It is very tough, balanced and comfortable but is a bad slicer, needs re profiling of the cutting edge and overall is a craw bar with a cutting edge.
I'm really trying to decide between the Esee 4 or the Gerber StrongArm. Price is irrelevant. Just something to EDC on the ranch. I might see use on hunts, cutting brush and abusing just for fun. Also I will be carrying horizontally on my belt around my waist using the sheaths provided with purchase.
How long has the Strongarm been made? Looks eerily similar to a knife I recall seeing my Dad carried In Iraq, but that would have been like 15 years ago by now...
+ 1 on the Bk16. My sheath has held up fine, takes a great edge, holds it equally as well. Also I barely have rusting and I live in Australia (coastal). Just whack a patina on her and she' s all good.
The strongarm looks fantastic when it’s worn a bit. I have a serrated strongarm and I think after I get the straight edged one, I might pick up the Schrade
I really love the Gerber but I hate coating and I don't know a way of removing it on the Gerber but on the Schrade its easy that why I think I will go for the Schrade .
I have the Esee 4 and will be using it for edc and then plan to use it in law enforcement as well. It was more expensive than say either of these two knives but is arguable higher quality. It is a flat grind and I've heard great things about the Esee knives especially the 4 and 5 and their super tough reliable blades that can take a lot of prying and stabbing on. Now the Esee 4 is a flat grind and is 1095 steel, but is arguable higher quality than the gerber above. My question is which one do you think would be a better tactical and stronger blade, the Esee 4 or the gerber above? The gerber is not flat grind and is a 420hc so looking at that I would think it would be stronger than the Esee but I've seen and heard about how the Esee even though it is flat grind and 1095, can hold its own and be just as tough and reliable as say the gerber above. What do you think? Would the Esee and the gerber above be comparable in toughness and reliability because of the quality of the Esee products?
I’ve got too many knives to count, but I have maybe half a dozen gerbers. I don’t have the strongarm, but I do have the tan to, serrated prodigy. It came sharp enough to shave with, really ! Just an excellent design ! Too long of a blade takes away dexterity, but I’m wanting the LMF next. I’d like a bigger around handle though. Being older now, arthritis makes my hand cramp up if the handle isn’t the right size. Schrade is more of a throwaway knife, than the easily replaceable Gerber. Notice I said the same thing two different ways ?
+Teachering Very foolish attitude. Some imported knives from Asia that I sell put some "US Made" knives to shame. An example: I have some Buck's imported from Asia that have a better fit and finish then some " Made in USA" knives from Buck. Just my personal experience as a knife dealer and user.
The Slimline Series: 4-1/2" O.L, Aluminum handles, 420HC steel. Made in China MSRP $29.95 Bantam Series: 4-3/8" O.L., Plastic handle, Unknown Stainless blade. Made in USA MSRP $27.95 Bantam = crap. Slimline = Better fit and finish, better steel, better handle material.
I would choose the Gerber strongarm. Be a great edc. Most are more likely to find themselves in a survival situation where they live, mostly urban and suburban areas. Chances are they are either being defensive, protecting, break out of, gaining entrance, therefore imo, the Gerber is superior and designed for that. The 42 is strictly a woods blade and would fail in those areas. Im excited to get a strongarm! Then I need a Tops Long Horn Bowie!
Utilitarian. I like this term. I too have grown a great fondness for the Gerber where there was only disappointment before. I cannot choose but if it is woods bummin then it is Schrade and if it is workin it is Gerber.
Seven years later... 😄 I have a lots of knifes, I am from Germany and here are many companies that produce high-quality knives. But the Gerber strongarm for me is the perfect knife I was looking for my whole life. I didn't know the knife and bought it a week ago. And I love it! the size the weight the way it feels in your hand.... Great! It fit's to German law (only blades up to 12 cm are allowed, so I had to grind 2mm off to be law conform) so that I can carry it and that's what I do. It's my new EDC knife. For daily tasks but also for safety. This knife just feels good and natural when I hold it in my hand. Greets 🤙
Great review as always. I like the concept behind the video. I would love to know what your top 3 under 5.5 inch blade in a few price ranges for a woods oriented backpack or camping knife. Personally I am looking for something under like $80 but a variety of price ranges for a "best of" style video would be super helpful. I am sure they are out there but not by most of the people I subscribe to, that I have found yet. High quality reviewer such as yourself are hard to find. Thanks and God bless!
+DrZarkloff Don't underestimate the strength of the 420HC that Gerber makes. Its crazy durable, and is proven survival worthy. Check out the videos on the Prodigy and the Strongarm.
Everyone who buys a 420 steel blade always says 'but but 420 is a decent budget steel if heat treated right' but you know what else is an even better budget steel when heat treated right? Ya 1095 derp lol.
Great review!! I just picked up the Strongarm. I think the big selling point for me was the utilitarian aspect and the sheath and the fact that it was made here in the US. I current own a SOG Seal pup and I beat the hell out of that knife and proved to be a great knife. But that sheath on Strong arm is probably the best designed and versatile sheath ever made.
I would like to see the battle of blades between some other knives: BK9 vs SP51, Hardcore Hardware MILF vs Paramilitary 2, Cold Steel Recon Scout vs BK7. Just suggestions! You're killing this youtube thing dude. Great work
+gideonstactical I have to second Cedric here Gideon. The Battle of the Blades thing you have done is not only really cool, but it really helps people choose a blade when they see two knives that get pitted against each other by the knife community ("a.k.a ESSE5 vs BK2") for example. Well done!
I prefer everything about the Schrade except for that recurve belly. If it were straight like the Gerber it would be excellent. Much easier to sharpen correctly without that recurve. Very good review. Edit to add: I would still pick the Schrade even with the recurve belly.
+Patriot Bill there is a SCHF42D that is exactly the same just without the recurve belly. Schrade had enough complaints about the recurve belly on the SCHF42 that they made the SCHF42D to fix the issue.
Dylan Harris Busse makes great knives but you'll basically be joining a cult lol! I have friends that got into Busses and they have gone down a very expensive rabbit hole they haven't come back from. Once you buy one you will not stop there. The TGLB is a sweet knife!
+Matthew Rodgers - My Schrade SCHF42 has a very nice 90° angle on the back of the blade and I prefer the flat grind blades with 1095 HC steel. I have discovered that I really like the re-curve in the F42 blade as well. I found the video review above somewhat confusing and the handle of the Schrade just as satisfying as the Micarta handle on one of my other knives. After drilling a drain hole in the end of the sheath of the F42 I am satisfied that the leather sheath will do just fine. Not bad for a $46.00 knife that will be used by one of my grand-children long after I have been laid to rest.
The schf42 was designed for bushcrafting. if you consider yourself a bushcrafter than the schrade is your blade. IMO the Gerber blade is more suited for a soldier.
If you go with the serrated version of the Strongarm it will out feather the Schrade by a huge margin and do an amazing job at fine work like carving notches. I know you say you don't like serrations but you really should try it out.
No hate towards Gerber but my Strongarm chipped this week after chopping 5 minutes with it. I have no clue what the heck happened. Nice video. I recently bought a SCHf51 as my first Schrade and now I just need to test it out. I'm completely neutral on this one.
Heat treatment is what you should choose, over any steel. Gerbers heat treatment, on the Strongarm, is out of this world. They took a poor stainless steel, and made it work as a carbon steel. It sharpens easy and it holds it's edge, the same or a bit longer than my 1095 blades, which have same hrc! Also it is tough as a carbon steel and it can't rust, as easy as 1095, who also loses it's edge if it sits in a drawer, because it corodes from the humidity of the atmosphere... Many more advantages, on the Strongarm and the reason is the heat treatment, that is nothing less than perfection on this knife.
Both looks like nice knives, I wish they made a high carbon version of the Strongarm, high carbon steel just has that earthly magnetic feel and has a much more natural energy to it. Only a few people might know what I'm talking about there. Rocks, wood everything in nature has a energy about it, or at least I can feel it, carbon steel has that natural magnetic feel, stainless just has no energy and earthly feel to it at all. Call me superstitious I suppose. Also the SCHF42 would also be a better skinner as far as a hunting knife with the FFG. Great video as usual Aaron...
Another great video Aaron and I love my strongarm. I Cary mine everyday and I live in CA so I run the risk of a ticket or otherwise but it's worth it great knife the sheath options are what did it for me 😎
Just looking at the Schrade's recurve gives me sharpening nightmares, I rock the Strongarm, arguably the best fixed blade they make. On a Second note, did you even use that Schrade? It looks like you really enjoy beating on the Strongarm....
Fantastic honest review! Wish I'd seen it when it was new... ;) Not really though, as I love both blades and they both definitely have their place and are incredible values. Really great review, new subscriber here. Thank you and I look forward to checking out many more of your vids! You talk about all the things that really matter and that's rare in the RUclips world.
Great video as usual, Aaron. I've been following the Gauntlet Reviews on the Gerber and have been extremely impressed! The Schrader also looked promising but you summed it up perfectly, and brought up THE most important aspect when buying a knife, or any weapon, tool or gear, what kind of person are you? That is the crux of the matter right there! I'm no bushcrafter so the Gerber would be my choice. On a totally unrelated note: how is Tommy the trail dog doing since the accident? I haven't heard anything since.
Hello, I would like to buy a knife compact, stainless, robust and not impossible to regrind the daportare field in my travels around the world in nature. This knife is reliable based on your experience? the trust with life? Let me know what you think, thanks to Michae I saw that you have used many other knives ... what advice me on this measure? The Strongarm, or other?
2-3 years later and I now can say through experience that GERBERS 420HC is freaking awesome.... I can also say that the Schrade was ok but mine had a major grind issue from the factory that couldn't be fixed. Schrades heat treat is also very unpredictable.
USA Gerber 420HC from my personal use is totally comparable to 1095 , its just slightly softer for ease of sharpening in the field.

I like the sheath on the gerber
I'm a left-handed Army Vet, the Strongarm was a easy choice!!!
13BRAVO REDLEG most of my knife purchases fall too . is it left handed.
I’m left handed also friend, I feel your pain in a right handed world.
Thanks for the compliment, and glad you enjoy the blade too!

I wish I had picked up that Gerber five years ago. The price on it has nearly doubled since then. Crazy.
$67 at sportsman's warehouse
Isnt That Grivory Handle On The Schf 42 Kind Of Slick ?
Picked up the Schrade on a whim not too long ago. Didn't like the scale material at all. But before I just threw the stock handles out, I figured I'd see if they could be stippled. It worked fantastically!! Still have them on the knife.
Been beating the brakes out of this thing since the day I got it. Great choice for a knife you can use hard and not cry over if you lose or damage it.
So for the Schrade file down the jimping, get micarta handle scales and a kydex sheath? Why not buy a different knife?
Do you recommend using a basic Gerber pocket sharpener, or is it better to invest in a really good larger home sharpener of some sort?
Excellent video ... I wanted to ask you if the gerber can ignite the ferrocer by scraping it with the back of the knife
The Strongarm has really went up in price since then. Can't find less than $70 anywhere now.

I vote for Strongarm! Not even a Gerber fan, but I bought the knife and I really dig it.

very good, thorough and fair review. personally prefer the Schrade but sheath of the Gerber.
An excellent comparison of two great knives. Thank you. BTW, what is the brand and name of the chest pack you're wearing?

Is the handle on the Strongarm about the same thickness as an LMFII/Prodigy? It looks pretty similar.
17:25 what is your body tactical bag....it is looking nice 👍

Sweet! I've been looking for a review of both of these knives pitted against each other.
Hope it helps!
here in germany the strongarm costs more than double is that still recommandable?
Excuse my ignorance folks, but what's the name for the bag he have on his chest?
What is that bag you’re wearing?
I have only the Gerber. It is very tough, balanced and comfortable but is a bad slicer, needs re profiling of the cutting edge and overall is a craw bar with a cutting edge.
Great great review! Would you consider stippling the handle of the SCHF42 like you can do on the handle of a firearm?
- - What is the width of the Gerber blade where it meets the grip?
I’m guessing Gerber had a pick up in sales for the strong arm since 2015 because they are $70 everywhere now
Can you sharpen the strong arm with a run through sharpener?
I'm really trying to decide between the Esee 4 or the Gerber StrongArm. Price is irrelevant. Just something to EDC on the ranch. I might see use on hunts, cutting brush and abusing just for fun. Also I will be carrying horizontally on my belt around my waist using the sheaths provided with purchase.
I would say the Gerber, but that is just me! Look at the Steel Will Darkangel. Review coming soon, basically a better steel Strongarm.
+gideonstactical hey thanks! I'll definitely check that out!
Love my strongarm! Highly recommend it.
Can you battle the strong arm vs cold steel SRK? I want to buy one of them but want to only buy the best one.
How does the Schrade schf 40D compare to the strongarm?
The Strongarm is around 1200 SEK here in Sweden. Got one on sale for 699 SEK.
Can you tell me what that chest pack is? Looking for one like that.
How long has the Strongarm been made? Looks eerily similar to a knife I recall seeing my Dad carried In Iraq, but that would have been like 15 years ago by now...
What chest rig are you wearing in this video?
I'm curious on how that trade knife stacks up against the Becker 16. being about the same size and grind, is the Becker 16 worth the extra $20?
Yes, better sheath, thinner blade so it is a better slicer. The 1095 is better on the bk16 too
+ 1 on the Bk16. My sheath has held up fine, takes a great edge, holds it equally as well. Also I barely have rusting and I live in Australia (coastal). Just whack a patina on her and she' s all good.
Great review. Do you have any custom sheath/kydex suggestions for the Schrade?
The strongarm looks fantastic when it’s worn a bit. I have a serrated strongarm and I think after I get the straight edged one, I might pick up the Schrade
Hey Aaron, what do you use to sharpen the StrongArm? Especially with how stout the tip is?
Review coming out this week on my top two sharpening systems. Stay tuned and you will see.
Woohoo!
I really love the Gerber but I hate coating and I don't know a way of removing it on the Gerber but on the Schrade its easy that why I think I will go for the Schrade .
what's that chest pack you have on at the end looks pretty handy
+D.A. Harlan There is a stainless version of ESEE 4. But the steel is 440C. You can refer to www.eseeknives.com/warranty.htm to see the detail.
I like the 42 over the Gerber. I like the feel and handling of the SCHF42.
Hi Aaron, whatcis the chest pack your wearing? Really interested would you do a review?
I think it was a Hill People Gear
Great review! I've been deciding between the two for urban survival and you definitely answered that for me. Thanks!
So glad to hear it. thanks for watching.
I like both knives but choose the Gerber Strongarm over the Schrade primarily because the Gerber is of American manufacture. That is important to me.
I hear that!
+Teachering Very foolish attitude. Some imported knives from Asia that I sell put some "US Made" knives to shame. An example: I have some Buck's imported from Asia that have a better fit and finish then some " Made in USA" knives from Buck. Just my personal experience as a knife dealer and user.
+Real Sharp Knives that is also true, but it is nice to support the USA when possible!
I don't disagree. Still a good video.
The Slimline Series: 4-1/2" O.L, Aluminum handles, 420HC steel. Made in China MSRP $29.95
Bantam Series: 4-3/8" O.L., Plastic handle, Unknown Stainless blade. Made in USA MSRP $27.95
Bantam = crap.
Great side-by-side comparison. I think I might have to pick up a Strong Arm soon.
You will love it
any chance on doing the SCHF52?
Utilitarian. I like this term. I too have grown a great fondness for the Gerber where there was only disappointment before. I cannot choose but if it is woods bummin then it is Schrade and if it is workin it is Gerber.
Very good review. The Strongarm is a great all-around knife.
+Guns N' Loaded It cannot be denied!
What chest pack are you wearing?
Greets 🤙
I HAD TO GET BOTH THEM, THANK YOU
considering doing the same
Great review as always.
I'll take the schrade. 1095 vs 420? please.
+DrZarkloff Don't underestimate the strength of the 420HC that Gerber makes. Its crazy durable, and is proven survival worthy. Check out the videos on the Prodigy and the Strongarm.
+Survival Solutions, Amen bro, Some 420hc is really good stuff, no complaints here
I live in south Florida... I take care of my gear, but I'll take 420 over 1095 just for the added corrosion resistance.
Great work
Awesome, I will keep it under advisement! Thanks for the encouragement and support.
+gideonstactical I have to second Cedric here Gideon. The Battle of the Blades thing you have done is not only really cool, but it really helps people choose a blade when they see two knives that get pitted against each other by the knife community ("a.k.a ESSE5 vs BK2") for example. Well done!
+gideonstactical Yeah, do it! Love the contrast. Doesn't have to be a 'winner' either.
Wait wait wait... theres a knife out there called 'the MILF' Jesus H Christ
Great video. I prefer the SCHF42D with no recurve, but that's because I slice more than anything else.
Understandable!
Schrade had enough complaints about the recurve belly on the SCHF42 that they made the SCHF42D to fix the issue.
have you by any chance owned or used a TGLB if so is it really worth that price point
Dylan Harris Busse makes great knives but you'll basically be joining a cult lol! I have friends that got into Busses and they have gone down a very expensive rabbit hole they haven't come back from. Once you buy one you will not stop there. The TGLB is a sweet knife!
So it's pointless to get the gerber if you're a bushcrafter and survivalist? (challenging yourself to survive with limited resources in the wild)
Do either one of them have a 90° angle on the back of the blade?
Both have spines that through good sparks.
+simnesan thanks for the info
Very good comparison, I love my Gerber Prodigy! Really like the new version of the schrade 42!
what's on your chest?
Good review thanks man
It sucks they sell that Strongarm for 99$ at Cabelas Canada.
Us Canadians always get ripped off...
joey8obby I've gotta deal with the same thing in Aus here.
Sharpblade well over $100 here in Aus
Just got mine for $110 here in Indonesia. Sucks
$94 on ebay Aus.
Thanks for the great comparison. Btw, Taiwan is spelled wrong.
I like how Aaron brings up who the knives are for. I'm not a bushcrafting guy.
Maybe I will
I've grown fond of the Gerber Serrations over the last year. They are done well.
No hate towards Gerber but my Strongarm chipped this week after chopping 5 minutes with it. I have no clue what the heck happened. Nice video. I recently bought a SCHf51 as my first Schrade and now I just need to test it out. I'm completely neutral on this one.
What is the make/model of the chest rig you are wearing? Great video btw
Hill people kit bag, review in my pack and pouch play list
To be fair there aren't really any bushcraft knives that come with a decent (ambi) sheath under $100 and they're few and far between sub-200
I wait for you to say "I ware large sized gloves" in every knife vid. LOL. Just busting your chops, love your stuff!
I trust my life with the strong arm, it served me well overseas
my decision was made right away with 1095 vs 420hc, no comparison 1095 all the way.
Thanks you so much! Really appreciate your comment.
It looks like you really enjoy beating on the Strongarm....
based on this review l'm glad my judgment was right to pick this gerber for my military friends
+A Keeper Of Odd Knowledge He is good, you can see him in action in his video on the Mountainsmith K9 pack post a month ago. Thank you for asking!
Hello, I would like to buy a knife compact, stainless, robust and not impossible to regrind the daportare field in my travels around the world in nature. This knife is reliable based on your experience? the trust with life? Let me know what you think, thanks to Michae
I saw that you have used many other knives ... what advice me on this measure? The Strongarm, or other?
Gerber strongarm or a stainless steel Mora knife like the Mora Companion. Depends on what you need
Say Heah Aaron, The Gerber Strongarm was a consideration, But I opted for the Druid 240.,, .
Watched the gauntlet reviews and bought the gerber in coyote tan. Love it! Also have 80s vintage gerber LMF nice blade also.
Schrade is what I want ✌️, awesome video 👍
