  • A ride on the Monorail at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in April 1994. See all the old rides like the Water Chute, Tidal Wave, Cableway, Monster, Log Flume, Tagada, etc. The Big One was still under construction at the time.

    memories of my childhood i was 11 at that time..but we used to go here alot one a year and that pleasure beach is my biggest childhood memory and the smell of fresh doughnuts being fried!:)

    Wonderful,I thought the Whip was near the Haunted hotel back then.Just goes to show how my memory fails me.

    why has the monorail gone but the track and station still remains?

      The Station has now gone and some of the track has been removed but most of it is still there

      They rebuilt it in 2032 I went on it on freedom day.

    What was the reason they got ride of this ride then ?

      It cost a lot to run and some parts needed to be replaced

      Back then Blackpool Pleasure Beach used to operate on a pay-per-ride basis, therefore they could basically have as many rides as they pleased providing they made money. Since the transition to pay-one-price they have rationalised a few rides that are expensive to run and no longer make any money.
