for me my favorite from sam adams is their octoberfest set. they are all amazing. First time i got it i saved pumpkin for last because i thought i would hate it...turned out to be my favorite right behind their actual octoberfest beer. Now i legit pine for the pumpkin sam adams the rest of the year. its SO fucking good
When I was in my early twenties I got a Mr Brew kit for Christmas one year, and yeah, I tried ruining my own beer a few times.. The most important part I think is the sanitation of all the receptacles and utensils, which I was able to do.. But for some reason my bruise would still come out super cloudy and they didn't taste the best 😂 There's this one I made.. They give you different little packets of hops and malts and stuff like that for different types of beer, and I don't remember exactly what I used but whatever it was it came out as like a dark brown or, like brewed iced tea, except it was super freaking cloudy, and I added a lot of brown sugar and molasses for color and mainly alcohol content (I was shooting for a high ABV), and yeah.. after being set to carbonate for however many weeks, it still had almost zero carbonation.. It was slightly effervescent, and it tasted like cheap rock gut whiskey lol And while it was ugly and disgusting, it got you drunk pretty quick haha so I did achieve one goal, that being a high ABV.. I have no idea what it was, because I didn't know how to calculate that; still don't. I use that as my reserves, whenever it was too late to make another beer run or liquor store run lol I did manage to make one batch of somewhat decent beer. I was shooting for an Amber ale, and it actually came out that color. It was a beautiful reddish brown, and it was actually clear! It carbonated better than my whiskey beer did, but not as much as a proper commercially made beer would be.. And it also tasted like a boilermaker with cheap stomach cancer-giving whiskey.
