When my child was small, he shocked me when he told me that ....he doesn't really like cherries! Mind blown! My siblings and I would have emptied jars of maraschino cherries if we had been allowed. My parents had a case of booze left over from their wedding and so they had occasional cocktails until that case ran out. When they would make Manhattans, my siblings and I would line up to get a cherry each. I still love Manhattans and I can steal the maraschino cherry from my kid's desserts or milkshakes without any objection from him. Parenting win.

When my parents and I moved to Florida in 1997, the house we bought had a giant jar of maraschino cherries in the fridge. Like, a jar the size of a gallon of milk. We did not know what to make of it.
Also, which brand of maraschino cherries was it that was made at that factory in Brooklyn(?) that had a gigantic pot farm in the basement that got busted by the feds maybe 10 years ago?
Man I should've watched this sooner. I was wanting a cheaper alternative to luxardo and turns out there isn't one.
