I love how Mike can instantly recall a dame from 10+ years ago and still be disgusted by the decisions.
I’m a Washington fan. It’s crazy to watch people dissect this game. We had 6 starters out. DeBoer took his foot off the gas and showed mercy in the 3rd and 4th quarter on both offense and defense. MSU scored on a bunch of 3rd and 4th stringers but the game was never close. It’s 50 or 60 to 14 if DeBoer really wanted it to be. Washington is a better more talented team and they by far have the better coaching staff. MSU fans need to get real. Outclassed in every way possible because UW is GOOD!

The Michigan game is a whole different animal this year. Referencing the 2020 doesnt do much speaking to how terrible michigan really was but now michigan has that game not only at home but the big house will actually have people in it. Not to mention JJ is likely the 2nd best QB in the big ten.

As a Spartan alum it simply is what it is The Defense is a joke. The coordinator is not fit, and it starts with Tucker. I still believe in Tucker, and believe he will make this right. However, his leash for success is very short. Rightfully so for the pay he is getting Any above average QB will look like a Heisman candidate. It's not even worth bringing up the Michigan rivalry. The difference between last year and this year is Michigan discovered our trash secondary. Heavy on the word....discovered. now since it is well known that MSU secondary and linebacker pass coverage is legit bottom of the barrel, JJ , Cade , a.drunk fan they picked out in the stands doesn't matter. Michigan is GOING to torch them and put 50 on the board. And that's on the conservative side.
I'm SO happy to see state revert back to their lifetime 6 game season win average. I'll ask again what I asked when they signed coach Tucker. How much is his buyout?

What does his contract have to do with anything? It’s his 2nd full season… they over achieved last season… MSU is paying his contract so why is it an issue?
at this point they're gonna need some breaks to win 6 games. maybe if they get the same officiating crew in every game that they had in the UM "win" last year

This is why the Big Ten is bringing in other schools from other conferences, because most Big Ten teams suck. You can’t be ranked 11th and lose to unranked team. If the original big 10 teams can’t pull their weight then the Big Ten will have to bring another teams from other conferences like USC to pull some weight with Ohio State!!You got Northwestern losing to southern Illinois, Purdue loses the Syracuse Iowa can’t score touchdowns! Guaranteed if this is a Barnett ran Defense like when Tressel and Barnett were co defensive coordinations this wouldn’t happen.
Although the next game (1)is not against another Michael Penix, and (2) is at home, Minnesota will win unless there are dramatic changes on both offense and defense. There needs to be a reshuffle of the coaching staff and the depth chart.
You don't build programs through a portal it's for taking one or two players to fill a short-term need until they understand this they will not have the results that they're looking for they have a lot of work to do
Tucker has not been established to MSU long enough to do some serious damage in the recruiting. He just got started in 2022 and though it was a great start, he missed out on a lot of recruits in vital positions that are instant impacts

They are kinda of doing it now this year after starting off 2023 hot recruiting. I seriously fear losing Jobe, Depaepe, Reescano, Hall, and Paracheck, Ramil. Those are the instant impact guys of next year that can change this program immediately, just need to see if Hazelton changes up the scheme and show something positive, or start looking for a new DC and defensive backs coach and end it with Els and Barnett as well.
I'm no Sparty fan and with Tuck they have bragging rights right now for being 2-0 against Michigan. But I tell you what as a Michigan fan, I am not mad they're locked into Tuck long term because his approach to program building via the portal isn't sustainable. It's year 3 and many aspects of his roster are putrid. Your defensive secondary and offensive line are similar to Harbuagh having John O'korn in year 3 at QB in 2017. It's embarrassing. I feared Dantonio in his prime way more. Now Michigan sucked for most of the Dantonio years but Dantonio was beating EVERYBODY when he had it rolling. All you Spartys can clap back at me and talk about 2-0 or the last 15 years or whatever, but you know I'm right.
I agree with for the most part. However, Harbaugh at least was gifted a roster with NFL talent when he started. Tuck started with MAC level. He also didn't have an off season in 2020 to do anything.
Their defense and O line is inexcusable no matter what though.
@@grumpypoof9648 That's true. Tuck deserved coach of the year last year because it was a miraculous season. In my opinion KW3 should have won the Heisman and the fact Tuck identified him and brought him into the program was genius. But the flaws for this 2022 squad without KW3 to erase them are unacceptable. I feel Valenti's frustration. 7-5/8-4 is not good enough for $9.5 mil in year 3.
I do agree that the rent a player approach isn't sustainable but its a temporary thing. Don't forget he let about 27 players go and he did a good job and they were able to have a surprising 11-2 season but long term Tuck is going to recruit the high school ranks. He had a decent class in 2022 and his 23 class appears pretty solid. He will scale back on the transfer portal as he continues to upgrade his recruiting.

I still say this first week injury thing that's been going on with MSU for awhile now needs to be addressed One of them was a player getting run over by his own teammate and now he's out. It reminds me of the Tigers and the Lions. Tucker needs to make this the Peyton Thorne show from here on out. He has nothing to lose and Thorne has the talent and killer instinct to do it. The rest of the team is that weak.

Michigan State has serious issues on defense but that game would have been different.
I was there, and with that crowd, the stop, the safety and the punt OB, all on top of eachother there were HUGE momentum shifts that it took a half to shake off. By then the hole was too deep to climb out of, though they made a great effort.

They wouldn’t have been ready if this game was in 5 weeks. That secondary BLOWS. Penix gassed those dudes like he was a Heisman Candidate. Windmon looked like trash. The RB’s were a complete joke. Michigan is going to bounce that garbage team along with OSU, PSU, shoot maybe even Minnesota and Maryland? There’s no cap on how many points that secondary can give up.
Michigan state had a shitty secondary last year and Michigan State still won. At least we played somebody and can assess where our team is at. I don’t know how you can confidently say anything good about Michigan when they’ve played 3 of the worst teams in college football

Damn talk about overreacting 🤣 it's one game and I think Washington is going to be pretty good this year so by the end of the year this loss won't look as bad but at the same time MSU played like straight shit. Coach Tucker doesn't like to be embarrassed and I think he will do what is needed to get this taken care of and I think the defense needs to completely change schemes. I'd rather this happen now than later it's a wake up call to snap them out of the euphoria from last year

That’s all it’s been. They’re trying to project away from how afraid they are that JJ is that talent. They’ve seen it and know it’s the one thing holding Michigan back. They bring up “lack of reps” yet he played meaningful snaps all last season. They bring up TOs yet ignore that only one was meaningful and not his fault. One of his int was a Hail Mary at the end of the half vs Iowa. It meant nothing.

My favorite part of this segment is where Valenti admits msu secondary is probably worse than Hawaii and then acts like he thinks JJ isn’t good enough to torch them. Every OSU and MSU fan bringing up turnovers and saying they aren’t sure JJ is that good and Cade should be the starter is them projecting how afraid they are of the idea Michigan actually has elite talent at the QB position.
It’s literally the one position Michigan has lacked on during Harbaugh that’s kept them from getting to the next level and they’d be way more comfortable facing a limited Cade than seeing JJ make good reads and good throws.
