  • Mama Bear is a super-smart mom... she was not going to make it easy for me to save her and her family! She was hoping I would give up and go home, but here at #HopeForPaws we never give up!
Every minute we don't have to spend on fundraising for these animals is a minute we're out there, saving lives. If you can, please join us with a small recurring donation here: www.HopeForPaws.org - Just $5 from every viewer would help us save so many more animals!
The real hero of this story is Buzz. This kind homeless man lives under this bridge for 6 years now, and when Mama Bear showed up, he invited her to join his little family with his dog Papa Bear. He even allowed her to give birth inside his tent so the puppies won't lay in the dirt.
We gave Buzz some money so he can continue taking care of Papa Bear, and also to fix his bicycle. We also brought food, drinks, a couple of tents, and sleeping bags for him and his friends. We get to work quite often with the growing population of homeless people in our state, so if you have a sleeping bag or a tent you are not using, please consider donating them locally or you can send them to us and we will be happy to deliver them.
    Our mailing address is:
    Hope For Paws
    8950 W. Olympic Blvd No. 525
    Los Angeles, CA 90211
We also have an Amazon Wishlist here - it's just terrible that they didn't even have a flashlight... it's not safe for them, and it wasn't safe for me to intrude like this after dark. If you would like to help, I am sure Buzz would really appreciate it:
    smile.amazon.com/gp/registry/...
If you have any other suggestions as to what I should add to the list, please let me know... I will be more than happy to drive all the way back and deliver your donated items. Also, I would like to sit with Buzz and show him this video and the difference he made in their lives.
Winter is coming, it gets extremely cold at night in the desert, and I just can't imagine how terrible it is to live life like this. It's so sad because I don't understand how would anyone be able to get out of homelessness.
I am so happy I took my whole team with me - JoAnn Wiltz, Loreta Frankonyte, and Katie McKittrick because together we were able to accomplish this rescue safely.
After an overnight stay at the hospital to make sure everybody is well and healthy, the whole family continued to their foster with our friends at L.A. Animal Rescue! They have so many cute animals for adoption, and you should definitely check them out: www.LAAnimalRescue.org
We are getting closer to the 5 million subscribers mark and once we do, we will do a HUGE giveaway! Please share this video with your family and friends on social media and help us get to many new people who may have never seen our videos.
One last thing! I have a gift that I would like to give you today! The link I will share in a second will enable you to write your own will - for free: www.FreeWill.com/HopeForPaws
I know it's a little bit of a scary subject, but please try it... the whole process takes 20 minutes and you will see that it will give you peace of mind knowing you have a legal document that will ensure the future of your kids and your pets should something unexpected happens to you.
Please feel free to share this free gift with anyone you want... this is free for everyone to use!
    Thank you so much!

They destroy their tent communities, they kick them out of parks so they can't sleep on benches there, they arrest them for stealing when they dumpster dive from restaurants and stores, they get arrested for trespassing and vagrancy when they try to sleep in abandoned buildings. A friend of mine was homeless for a while and he got arrested for disturbing the peace after he got jumped and had the crap beaten out of him right after 9/11, simply because he's mixed and looks Middle Eastern. They didn't even take him to the hospital, and his eye socket was fractured. He was badly concussed and suffered a TBI, and they just dumped him in a cell and left him. I hope we will see the world getting better as the years go by. I think we have hit rock bottom at this point with the world pre-covid.
People seem to finally be realising that maybe, just maybe, all people deserve to have a safe home and a full belly and that people who live on the street didn't do this to themselves or "get what they deserve" as some say.
They are just normal people who got unlucky and had no one to help them when times got tough.
But, hey, those of us who can are often willing to give just like Eldad and his crew. I reckon this video helped a lot of people realise they can help.

You and I didn't do anything to earn being born in America rather than a war wrought or poverty stricken nation that isn't as safe to live in. It's very hypocritical and convenient for you to think that you deserve such things because you got lucky with where you were born, but other people don't.
Stop blaming other poor people, POC, etc. for the injustices of the world, when the problem is greed and lack of empathy

@@jennifermarie3158 I don't think Sir Galahad the Great is saying that you only deserve life, liberty and happiness because of where you were born, but a lot of people come in illegally and seem to get treated better than citizens. There are also areas of cities especially in places like London that have no go zones. No one is saying compassion shouldn't be shown, but you can't bring everybody in, and the ones coming in should be checked very carefully. I think (and this is my opinion only) that some of the people coming in (especially young single men) should be staying in their own countries to make it a better place in which to live, isn't that the best solution?

This one broke me. I would like to take a moment to give my highest respect to Buzz, Tim and everyone who was living there under that overpass. Can you imagine how hard it would be to give up your pet when you essentially have NOTHING? I have a roof over my head and the thought of losing even one of my babies instantly tears my heart to pieces. Mama Bear was probably one of his closest and most trusted companions, yet he gave her up so she could have a better life. I am BALLING because of that. They all gave up members of their little family when they allowed Mama and all her little Bears go with HFP. My hat is off to every single one of them, but especially Buzz. He was so aware of his surroundings....it could have been quite dangerous approaching people on their turf (especially on his own and with dogs barking and protecting their owner/area) but he explained who he was and asked if he could approach...
He spoke to Tim with compassion and treat him like a human being which made the situation safe andhe got all the info he needed to come back the following day and rescue those cute puppies and their mother..
And bringing food..tents etc was a lovely kind touch ...
An excellent communicator with everyone he comes into contact with...
The girls were great too in unbearable heat...
This was an incredible rescue and I have no doubt these beautiful little puppies n mother will get adopted quickly......

What a brave soul, Buzz. He no doubt knew his dog and her pups would go to great homes. That's truly a hero. Heroes come in all ways and in all places. His Mama dog will be kept in a place he could not have given her, a place with grass, love, great doggie food and love. God Bless Buzz and his caring heart. We love you Buzz.

It's really heartwarming and nice to see homeless people get treated with respect and kindness people often forget to do that, so thank you for setting a positive example. And the puppos and mama are adorable and I really hope they'll get wonderful homes ❤️

I must say that the ENTIRE Hope for Paws team continuously blows my mind when I consistently see how amazing everyone of u are. The curtosey, respect, support, love and kindness that you guys showed to people who have fallen on hard times was nothing less than amazing. Not one time was any judgment shown towards those guys, in anyway. Not only were u looking put for the animals but you also looked out for the people. As if all that food wasn't enough you guys gave Papa Bear that awesome dog bed, you gave brand new tents, sleeping bags and even gave them cash twice. Absolutely amazing!!! I think every animal rescue group is amazing but there's just something different about you guys that puts u above pretty much above all the other rescue groups that I've seen in action. I find myself often upset cause I live in WA state and you guys are too far away for me to even try to be apart of your team. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to help u guys in at least 1 rescue, hopefully. Until then I'll continue supporting you from far away while I watch you guys continue to be the most amazing people ever. Hope for paws in nothing short of a group of angels who fight for the innocent and those who have no voice.

@legion999 Being homeless is a horrible thing, but being a homeless dog & puppies is also horrible.
Humans can walk into a shelter to ask for assistance, ask for food, go to a food pantry, get on an assistance program, get government supported medical assistance & also get help in finding work but animals are defenseless & cannot speak so they cannot walk into a homeless shelter & get help.
I wish people were not homeless, but I would no more leave those dogs & puppies there, then I would leave a child or babies.
I feel sorry for the dog that was left.

Just when I thought that my respect for Eldad couldn't be any greater, he deals so compassionately with these homeless folks in the process of rescuing a family of dogs. A true saint.

Thank you, for your gentle approach, and respect for the homeless under-the-bridge commune where the dogs were living. Good gracious me, I realize how homeless people get together and find shelter, in the US. I knew of the poverty and homeless people in the US, but now I'm aware of how the living conditions are, at times, for them. You've done much good here, thank you!

Buzz did an amazing job taking care or her and the puppies, given his lack of resources. I hope things get better for him soon.
