- Poor Jax was so scared, and in the heat of the moment, he managed to bite JoAnn Wiltz. Working together with Katie McKittrick they got him to the hospital and then they learned what was really happening with him.
Jax recovered really well from the surgery and even though he lost a leg, he is now actually so much more comfortable.
We have to pay for about 10 surgeries EVERY WEEK and as you can imagine, it costs thousands of dollars! If you can, please join us with a small donation and help us get to 20 surgeries a week! We would LOVE to be able to help more animals :-)

If only these scared little guys knew from the beginning that they are being rescued and about to start a beautiful new life.
If they've been on the street any length of time they may have had animal control after them and they are not very nice when they are catching animals. Of course the shelter is an almost certain death sentence. I don't blame any of the animals for being freaked out. Many of them have come from abusive homes and while on the street children are often cruel.

To see such a terrified little dog transform into a happy dog is just beautiful. That smile on his face with his new Mum and the way he kept looking up at her really warms my heart.

@@bigdream_dreambig Animals in need seem to recognize the cocoon of safety we can sometimes provide. Cats and dogs go into heat within days of being rescued, dogs like Jax sleep deeply for the first time. Dogs often will relax when a leash is on them. They calm down in a crate faster than when loose in the back of your car.
I don’t know if angels exist or not, but I like to imagine rescue dogs tell each other about the day an angel came and lifted them off the streets

Jax's amputation didn't change anything because he wasn't using that leg anyway. Bless the family that adopted Jax!
Hi Kevin. The amputation changed A LOT! He was uncomfortable and miserable because of it... it was a dead limb that made him uncomfortable. He is much happier without it.
Do you know what a dead weight is ? Imagine yourself having to carry a 10 lbs limb every time you stand up.

These ladies aren't as mellow as the guy who was in most of the prior videos. They are making me anxious! But they did it.
The guy doesn’t do it as fast, he gives them time to decompress. She is impatient.
That was the first time I saw that style of catching a dog. Not what I’m used to with the original Hope for paws.

These 2 were chaotic as hell during the rescue. They should learn from you and Loreta to be calm and collected. The screaming praises were no better, tough to watch. Glad the dog is doing well and saved none the less.

There was an abused little poodle running around In my neighborhood. Me and my sister decided to try and recuse him and we used all your tricks! It worked!!! I was so happy, we gave him to our local animal shelter. Hopefully he found a better home.

I love Eldad's calmness. These girls must have been new at this. I don't think they realized how very loud they were.
Don’t be rude. They did what they could.
Time after time I watch JoAnn anxiously interacting with a scared dog. Her nervous energy can lead to aggression. That's not the way. It traumatizes dogs and makes the transition from the street more distressing than necessary. She's been doing rescue work for some time, and it's frustrating to see this behavior continue. I do rescue. When approaching an animal, it's really important to be grounded and calm. Sense the individual's energy. When you're present, animals feel safer and rescues go much more smoothly.

Jax enjoyed the bubble bath, blankets and treats to the max. This transformation from a limping scared cutie to a playful, lively happy guy in a caring loving forever home, restores my faith in humanity..

My brother and I not long ago spoke of our dear dog, Champ that disappeared from our home and was never seen again. My husband and I think of our cat, Blackie that we loved and also went missing. I won't even mention those darlings that have passed on! You're not alone in your sadness. 😿 🙏💕

Hope For Paws-Official Rescue Channel You need to tell your rescue people to tone it down when they have rescued an animal. All that 'whoo hoo' kind of stuff and loud voices and movement around them just stresses them out more. They are scared and confused animals as it is. Your people need to talk soft and make no sudden movements, etc. when the animals are in the crates. Slow and easy and quiet works so much better to calm the rescued animals. I love your videos, though, otherwise and really appreciate what you do.

I don't know if you folks at Hope For Paws realize it or not but when you upload a new video, you give HOPE to people too.
Some of us have gotten quite sad about the overall state of things everywhere in the world: overwhelmed, overstressed, overtired, etc. When we are able to see people who are rising above it, bringing real love, at least for me, it gives me hope too.

What a sweetheart, Glad you were able to succeed. As one of them said loud noises freak him out and the newer rescuer was too loud and aggressive sounding and acting. Hopefully she'll learn from this and adjust her approach to the rescues. Sorry she had to pay for it with a bite.

I will never understand why they sometimes say: "we don't have food, leash and so one with us". They should place it in every car!
Sometimes they run away, bite, hide etc but when they arrived the clinic/hospital/vet they are so calm, they can feel the love and they understand ♥️

I had some friends here in England who had a dog with only one back leg. The called him "Morgan" after a rather eccentric English car company who for much of the 100+ years made cars with two wheels at the front but only one wheel at the back.
Jax is gorgeous. The relief he must of felt when he realized he was safe and being cared for. Thanks ladies!
