@@mdapidoang No he’s not he said in the last video he got a new welding machine because his welding machine broke so he’s going to keep building the monster truck now
Kev, i totally agree with you on the weight factor. The ONLY thing that I’ve changed to metal was the 17mm drive hexes. The reason for that was that I was starting to strip the plastic ones out
I been into RCs my entire life but fell outta the hobby about 6 years ago but always been a nitro guy. After watching a couple videos on your channel on a few off days just bumming around it ended up sparking my inner RC child so I went and dug all my stuff out and since then I've now bought two E Revos and a Slash 4x4 and now about to pick up a Xmaxx! As someone that isn't looking to tune carbs and replace glow plugs all the time I decided to plunge into the electric world and I will just say WOW! I never knew that electric could be so much fun not to mention they're CRAZY FAST lol aside from all the work that comes with nitros my neighbors were not huge fans of the 60mph weed wackers flying around the yard haha so yea actually kickin myself in the ass for not grabbing a electric car sooner these things are AWESOME!!!!

Yea it's easier just to throw away the Hobbywing stuff and replace it. Let's be honest, Hobbywing is no more reliable than Castle. If you think so, then you are obviously not testing the limits of your system.
Lol I been running my xlx2 with Castle 800kv in my mojave for about 6 months no fires esc does not even get hot only the motor hobbywing is good but there esc need to be upgraded for more power
After the hundreds of vids that Kev has put out, I just dont understand how anyone could still be obsessed with Arrma. Every Arrma "basher" Kev has used has HAD to be heavily modified (structurally) with stronger parts after one good bash session. I personally, bash hard. Too hard to ever want an Arrma. Im not looking to replace a chassis every 2 battery packs. My 12yr old Slash 4x4 has NEVER needed a new chassis. It's used for huge jumps(over my ranch house) and I've only replaced to lower arms, driveshafts and turnbuckles which was done before I ever bashed it the 1st time. I've broken a few lower arms ONLY since I've been clearing my house... Nothing Arrma has could say the same.
I had a Traxxas Slash 4x4. Durable vehicle but there’s always a need for more power. So then the Maxx came along, also pretty durable. I bought an Arrma Mojave because of these videos. I haven’t bent a chassis, probably because it hasn’t been 40ft in the air but it’s definitely left the ground. The rear bumpers and everything are garbage and break easy but they are plastic. The rear shock tower is also slightly bent. The body posts could use some re-engineering. I’ve had it about 6 months. It’s been a great vehicle. I haven’t replaced anything that’s broken. It’s my main basker now that my Maxx needs a rear pinion gear
@@jstesan1 The drivetrain has been holding up well for me. I do try to avoid things that put undue stress on the diffs, like on the power landings, standing backflips and bicycling. I don’t baby the thing though, lots of jumping, in the air backflips, wheelies and general barnyard bashing. One issue I keep having is with the fan on the max 5esc, fins keep breaking off.
I’m old enough to remember being excited at the “size” of the old Tamiya Silver Can 540 motors when upgrading my Grasshopper from the 380 Silver Can motors! Nowadays the motors are just ridiculously MAHOOSIVE!! ( as Kev would say! Lol ). Back in the 80’s n 90’s if you really wanted to go faster, you went to Nitro power! my opinion is, that the xlx2 is just for onroad speedruns and not offroad bashing. They need to make a Kevin Talbot special edition: stronger motor and esc XD

Agree 100%. I even ran 5000 mah packs in my X to help keep the weight down. Maybe broke 4 suspension pieces in 3 years driving it 3/4 as hard as you do. It's amazing how much stupidity and abuse it can take👍

I just used upgraded springs and it handles like stock.

Kev. I never believed you when you said no to add more weight to xMaxx. I got the xlx2 and the big 1100kv HW motor with the 1.5m B&m gears and a wfo mount and my xMaxx keeps breaking and blowing diffs. Not recommended lol. Just as Kevin always said.
