Totally agree and they always go for prescribing drugs instead of looking a vitamins first! I was having hip pain after a previous lumbar injury Everytime I sat resting (reclining) when I got up I could barely weight bear for the first few steps. This went on for months and months... got prescribed piroxicam, tramadol, NSaid of other types, physio, exercise physio, prolotherapy for hip bursar and lumbar issues...on and on... I did a little research and saw marginally low vit D can cause hip pain. Took Vit D + K2 and Magnesium + calcium + vit D, and the hip pain was gone next day... Went from almost crippled the night before to fine next day! Can't believe the mucking around and expense going through doctors to find this worked!

I have a bad back and neck, but never caused me too much pain and discomfort as I was suffering in 2021 at 66 years old. I though it was the result of getting old. I am doing a lot better now with my D in the 80, diet, exercise, no pre diabetic anymore. I will have another bone scan this year, but overall I am feeling great with my life style changes without prescribed medications. My dr did not even told me to supplement; she just wanted to prescribe me all these medications right away and send me on my way. If you take vitamin D, it's important to also take vitamin K, because it helps calcium go where it's suppose to,which of course is your bones. Unfortunately, I wasn't told this by doctors, that prescribed a prescription vitamin D, 50,000 IU every other day, due to my D being low on my lab tests. I learned on my own that taking D without K, causes calcium to go other places in your body, causing calcium deposits, it can attach to the outside of your bones, like bone Spurs and in your arteries, and other places it shouldn't be. You should not take K if you are a blood thinner. I have been taking a lower dose of D now that it's in normal range. I have a question, is there a way to dissolve and remove calcium deposits in your body where it doesn't belong and get it in your bones?

There’s a lot of variability from person to person with how much vitamin D to take. I got my blood tested about 8 times over the course of 3 years, while slowly increasing my vitamin intake, to figure out that 20,000 IU per day keeps my level at around 60-70. When I was taking 5,000 my level was about 20. So I definitely recommend taking those blood tests instead of just taking what the back of the bottle says or taking what works for other people.

Absolutely, tests are essential. We took 3 over about 18 months. First towards the end of Winter, to get a lowest baseline (I was already on 3000IU), then took 6000 IU and retested mid Summer. Finally bumped up to 10,000 IU, and at the end of following mid Spring was finally happy with 75ng/mL. Also take K2, Mag and Zinc. There are too many factors inhibiting absorption of D not to get tested imo. Having said that, if tests are too expensive in your country/area, or you don’t want to wait, I don’t think 4000IU a day of D3 would be a problem for anyone, and would only lead to a massively improved health for the general population.

Great information to start with. Unfortunately most doctors, mine included, DO NOT want to talk about nutritional deficiencies or anything we’ve learned in the Internet.
I was diagnosed through endoscopy with esophagitis, gastritis, and duodenitis after years of symptoms and then sent to an allergist. Turns out I’m only mildly allergic to dairy. The allergist recommended I give up gluten, and it’s been life changing. Gluten was driving up my blood sugar and blood pressure in addition to creating sinusitis and bloated tissues.
It was also at the heart of the gastritis. The gastritis was causing poor nutrient absorption and consequently I had very low Vitamin B and Magnesium levels. Some articles say that chronic gastritis is the primary cause of low Magnesium.
I’ve been supplementing for year and 25 different symptoms of gluten sensitivity and low Vit B and Magnesium levels are virtually gone. This topic needs MUCH more attention in the medical community!

Hello Kathleen, thank you for your information here. I've had no success with doctors either for years. The only one I put trust in sadly retired now was from India. He was very happy to hear that I had taken charcoal for a severe case of diarrhoea. He laughed, and asked how did I know to use it, because it's the best thing to do. He was always ready to listen and help without pushing medications. Alas those doctors seem to be none existence now. Recently I had a problem with my heart due to a great deal of stress and anxiety. I was sent to the cardiac centre, the specialist asked me did I have chest pain. Yes was all I was allowed to say!! He sat looking at information on the computer, then asked my daughter whom I had asked to take me there "how often do you see her"? Every week was her reply. Wrong!! Next question was have you seen any change in her. No was the reply. I hadn't seen my daughter for a few months until my sister came to stay for a week.I then was not able to move around the house, but did manage to stand up to get dinner ready my daughter recalled seeing this after we left the heart specialist.!! The stress of just knowing she was coming to stay for a few days, and during the stay was too much stress and apparently, (my own diagnosis) caused the heart problems. I didn't go back to see the specialist who was charging to much in fees for my budget anyway. I heard years back about Co enzyme Q10 , Dr Gundry had spoken about it in a News Letter from my recollection. I'm now taking this and get on a treadmill for 10 mins when I can't go outside due to sun or the high pollution, mostly pollens. I also have been taking the D3 K7 and Bio Magnesium along with B Complex and Biotin for hair thinning, the Biotin is a big help, my hairdresser said she has now started to use it. My worst nightmare was while I was put on antibiotics for H pylori, the side affects , hallucinations. My daughter already mentioned called an ambulance, off to hospital. Sixteen days, my oncologist treating me for asthma at the time was called in, not one person spoke to my GP or checked the medication. Two mental health teams where called in, both doctors refused to treat me, the nursing staff couldn't believe I was in there either. Two students nurses came on their last day at the hospital to tell me none of the nurses agreed that I should be there. I was in the ward with older people that were losing the memory,I saw them come in and see the deterioration after being put on medication, some forced as I was, told if I refused the medication I would never go home. My son spoke to the specialist and asked ty take me home to look after me, but was told I would never get better and since I was taken in by Ambulance the hospital "have duty of care". If they had any knowledge about that particular medication and side affects I wouldn't have even been admitted. Now I am my own doctor with YT and Google. I know that some doctors use Google, if you take any medication it's a very good idea to check them out on Google or your pharmacist. Best Wishes.

Great article. I take 4K units per day and have done so for many years. There’s no such things as cold and flu season, there’s only low Vitamin D season. During the winter months in the Northern hemisphere, the sun angle is low, obviously, and it doesn’t matter how long a person is outside, they won’t get enough Vitamin D from the sun. They need to supplement. Persons who are of darker complexion need Vitamin D supplements throughout the year since their dark complexion doesn’t allow for absorption from the sun. Sunscreens add to the chronically low Vitamin D levels. I quit using sunscreens years ago, but limit my exposure during the summer, or cover up.

Do you have any idea how badly I needed to hear something positive about chronic pain. My hands and feet have been swollen for the past week, and I suffer from neuropathy (among other things). I deal with pain every day. But the past week has left me with little sleep and a tremendous amount of pain. People don't understand. I have always had a high tolerance to pain, and most people would never know if they saw me out in public, but for me to engage in conversation with people and to make someone laugh or smile or feel good on some level, that distracts me from pain and it makes my day. I was at a store, in a foul mood, and in a lot of pain, when I heard the angelic voice of a child. It made me smile, it changed everything. Then the mom and child turn the corner, and I'm face to face with them. I quietly told the mom that I was in a rotten mood, but when I heard her child's sweet voice, I was instantly no longer in a crappy mood and found myself smiling. She turned to her child and said, "Did you hear that, sweetheart? You just made someone's day." And I leaned toward the child and said, "Yes, you did. And, thank you." Something so sweet and simple can mean so much to people.
So, I am going to download some medical forms I have to fill out to extend my secondary insurance while I listen to this video. I'm hoping someone makes my day...

My blood test revealed that I was severely deficient in Vitamin D. At the time I had been taking a pretty large dose Vitamin D supplement for around 2 years. (I believe it was between 3=5x the normal Recommended Daily Allowance/RDA.) My doctor freaked out and put me on a dose that was 50k IU; seriously! The first day I took the prescribed Vitamin D supplement was ok. The second day I could barely get out of bed. The 3rd day I couldn't even think, more or less lift a finger. I was so incapacitated I couldn't swallow well enough to take my daily meds. The next day I felt a lot better, but I was still exhausted. I again took my daily meds, including the prescribed Vitamin D. By that night I was so exhausted I went to bed before dark. The next day I again was too exhausted to move or get out of bed. At that point I realized it was the prescribed Vitamin D that was the problem. I stopped taking it and returned to my normal, very tired but semi mobile self. It took a full decade before I was willing to try taking any Vitamin D supplements again. Recently I decided to try taking a Vitamin D & K2 combo supplement. I have actually noticed an improvement; especially after I accidentally took a double dose. Now I take that double dose daily and feel the difference.
As for Magnesium, a friend's doctor put her on a Magtein Magnesium for side effects of Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism; which we both have. When she told me about how much of a positive impact the Magtein formula of magnesium was making in her life, and the history of that formulation (successfully designed to help dementia patients) I did a ton of research before being willing to add anything else to my daily pills. I was completely surprised by the successes Magtein had in improving mental cognition. Apparently, other than getting magnesium directly from healthy food (like coconuts and other nuts, etc.) this formulation is the most successful formulation to pass the blood brain/nerve barriers. (The group that developed the Magtein formulation had developed a different version of magnesium that had a small success in passing the blood brain/nerve barriers, but they were unsatisfied with that formulation so they developed the Magtein formulation.) I decided to give this formula of magnesium a try, and finished off my bottle of regular magnesium supplement then switched over. It took about a month before I realized that the new supplement was having an effect. I have to say that I was blown away by all the positive changes I noticed! I had a better memory, better cognition, more energy, less brain fog, better focus, better word recall, and was able to focus and follow a conversation better. (Note that with both the Magtein Magnesium AND the thyroid hormone replacement meds I was still functioning at far less than 50% of what I had been at 15 years before, when my body began seriously winning its war against my thyroid and I couldn't get a doctor to run the tests to correctly diagnose me. Since it took so long to get diagnosed, I have serious physical and brain damage... So, your milage may vary...) I highly recommend checking out the research on the Magtein formulation of Magnesium. You may not need it, buy you may know/meet someone who could be helped by it.

Always appreciate this sort of info but one criticism if I may. This consistent "Check with your doctor first" isn't always possible for many people. I moved to a different province last year and have been unable to find a dr since. The walk-in clinics are massively overloaded and they try to do as much as possible over the phone. If they find that any lab work is done they tell you to come in but unless you are there on the 1 or 2 days a week when they take "walk-ins" AND you get there early enough (like 5AM for a clinic that opens at 9) you're never going to be seen. So a huge number of us are relegated to going to the ER if we absolutely need to see a dr. There isn't anywhere where I live where I can just go and get lab work done as it has to be requested by a dr. So i work on the "blood and bone" principal...if I see either then that warrants a trip to the ER. Everything else and I'm going to take care of it myself at home.

That is correct. The human body is complex and we all have many unique issues, so it would be irresponsible not to suggest you work with a healthcare provider. However, there are many “Direct Lab” sites where you can walk in and order your own blood tests. (A few will even send suggestions to help you optimize your health.) This would be a great way to at least get some baseline testing done.

To: Tom Biemacki: 1. What about SUGAR absorption? At 1:14 the FIRST thing you mention that vitamin D is essential for is SUGAR ABSORPTION.
I love a sweet dessert like ice cream covered with dark chocolate, or a cupcake with frosting after a meal, but MANY modern nutritionists say that ANY amount of ANY type of even organic sugar, even honey or even the natural plant based - zero calorie sweeteners like monk fruit and probably organic stevia too, are like absolute poison to our bodies and our health, feeding cancer, bad bacteria, maybe fungus also, and cause a lot of Inflammation throughout our bodies, and as far as eating anything sweet goes, the only way it would not harm ALL people at all, is if they take a supplement just before dessert, that causes our body to NOT ABSORB sweets, so they can pass right through our body and not harm us. For instance Dr. Gundry has a couple digestive supplements @ ~$80/month w/a subscription of a 3 month's supply of both every 3 months for maximum discounts, that is supposed to do that.
      2. At 4:04 you say vit D is "calcetriol" although on the whiteboard beside you at that moment, it says D3=Cholecalciferol or Ergocalciferol, so how do you spell the word you said vit D is, that sounds like: "calcetriol"?
      3. I wish to take a detox to remove heavy metals at bedtime and take a medication and lots of vitamins after my 1st meal around 5pm, so when is the best time to take K2, Calcium & vitamin D3 (BTW, I just read that the MINIMUM amount of vit D3 that has EVER been recorded to cause toxicity in clinical tests of D3, was 300 mg of D3 per day, and that 10,000 IU's of D3 is a good idea for most people who are mostly quite deficient in D3. 10,000 IUs is only 250mcg or .25mg of D3. FAR below 300mg.
      4. Another question is: Advanced nutritionists say that our livers filter out 90% of the toxins in food and drink that we ingest, BUT 90% of the stuff we put ON our skin is absorbed deeply into our body and circulated around including all the toxic ingredients in most soaps, lotions and shampoos, so we need to be even more careful about what we put on our skin than what we eat and drink. And a good water filter that removes all the toxins like sodium fluoride, chlorine, lead, rust & more, is MORE important for the shower or bath than the kitchen sink, because you can easily fill up pitchers for the fridge to drink and for food prep. )THEREFORE, how pure and natural are magnesium chloride flakes, and do they easily turn into liquid so we can save money by making our own magnesium spray or skin liquid by mixing magnesium chloride flakes with distilled water, AND since that magnesium out to easily circulate through our blood to all parts of our body as well as ease any cramps in our calves, ankles or feet by applying it anywhere we get cramps, will that delivery method of magnesium only be good if applied at the same time we consume calcium, and vitamins K2 & D3; and at least 1 or 2 hours before or after consuming all our other vitamins and any medications (generally)?
(Side note: although many American brands are removing SOME of the toxins from SOME products due to complaints), most of the toxins put into American products and foods & drink are ILLEGAL in Europe.)
PS: if you reply with your nutrition Email address to my questions here, I'd be glad to send you a copy of these questions so you can email it to any one or any place you know is researching the healthiest, best ways to take magnesium, Calcium potassium, D3 and K2. Please let me know the best answer to my questions that you can find as these issues are all being discussed in your lecture here. BTW, as doctors now days only study the fake nutrition created by the pharmaceutical industry in the 1950's for about a month, even though 50-60 years ago almost the entire field of medicine was prescribing foods and herbs to heal almost all ailments, handed down by Hippocrates who created the field of medicine of the Western world, as well as the Hippocratic oath: "To do no harm", when receiving their license to practise medicibe that all doctors took until VERY recently, and so they studied nutrition extensively before the 60's, but in the 1950's the pharmaceutical industry started deriveling synthetic drugs based on each previously prescribed food or herb, because they found the synthetic equivalents provided short term, lessening of symptoms, but never cured anything, like the proper nutrition HAD, as it fed the body with the nutrients it required to function properly, but by only subduing symptoms, rather than actually curing any sickness or disease, they could have a racket to charge people huge amounts for drugs they'd have to take for the rest of their lives, because they never cure anything. I just recently found out that the word pharmaceutical is derived from the term they originally gave sheister con artists who made fake tonics that didn't work, claiming they would "cure what ailes you."
And also, my primary care physician, like most doctors, unless they have an extra degree in advanced nutrition, knows VERY little about nutrition. I HAVE heard a couple advanced nutritionists say that most primary care physicians don't order the correct type of blood tests that truly reveal if a person IS actually deficient in vitamin D, or any nutrient. He said you have to ask for the name of the correct type of blood test that actually reveals whether a person is actually deficient or not..
Also, I get cramps in my calves, ankles, feet or area around my right front lowest rib if I don't take the RDA of vitamin D almost every day. Also, when I got CHF in February 2017, the closest hospital the ambulance took me to, dud not know what they were doing, for the most part, as their "heart healthy meals" menus said they had 1,000 I miligrams of sodium in every meal, however there was no seasoning of any kind on any of their meals. On my 30th day there, the day they were going to discharge me, the results of my usual 6am blood test revealed that my blood sodium level had dropped to a nearly lethal level of sodium, as every cell in the body requires a certain amount of sodium to function, so they kept me, and started giving me a 1,000 mg salt tablet 3X's a day, still no seasoning on the food though. A doctor stopped by my room that day, to tell me that my extremely low sodium level may or may not have caused permanent damage to my kidneys. A year or 2 later, I got a print out of my treatment that said my kidneys HAD been damaged, although the hospital had never told me that, they only said the fact that my sodium levels had reached a dangerously low level on my 30th day at the hospital, (which was their fault), that my kidneys may or may not have been permanently damaged -- that they may recover on their own. I had no idea I ever had a problem with my kidneys, all though later that same day, both of my legs swole up like balloons from the knee down from the effect. Another doctor came by my bed later that day and told me I would have to keep my lower legs elevated above my heart to get the swelling to come down, but that hospital had no way of elevating a patient's lower legs.
I had started insisting they send me to NYU Langone Hospital which all my regular doctors were connected with, from the point I realized they had almost killed me with the lack of salt in their food which they finally did within a couple of days, via ambulance from NYU Lancôme Hospital, straight from my room to my own waiting room at NYU Langone, which turned out to be about a couple of thousand times on a higher level! Their "Heart Healthy" menu said 1,500 milligrams of sodium/day. The lovely Japanese lady who brought my menu said they used some natural salt along with spraying on vinegar, and many other spices, and Éverything was fresh, delicious, and on a higher calibre, like from a top restaurant. My roommate sat in and slept in what the hospital called a "sleeping chair" -- like a big "Lazy Boy" type chair, that easily raised the lower legs above the heart, right beside her hospital bed with access to all the controls and button to call the nurse, etc. I asked for a sleeping chair like that, and they brought one for me right away. They had THE most excellent alternative health therapists that were covered by my insurance that I could request for almost every day, on top of regular care. Everything was super high quality. Thanks for your lecture discussing just the kind of info I'm looking for right now!

What time of day is best for optimal absorption of each?
And should either supplement be taken with food?
Both timing and taking supplements on an empty stomach affect absorption rates and release of the supplements in the blood, stomach or gut.
Please, comment on what time of day to take each supplement and whether each should be taken with or without food. Please!

Magnesium is an alkaline and its used as antacid so unless you have heartburn its better to be taken without food. Its also have calming / lowering blood pressure effects so its great for sleeping aid and many people use it as such so they take it in the evenings. It depends more of what kind of magnesium you are taking - mg glycinate - great for sleep and calming in the evening - mg citrate - great to make you poop your pants so its better to be taken in the morning to start your day at clean or when you are close to a toilet lol. And with magnesium - how much you absorb will be affected by the type of magnesium you take and the dose - Taking your whole daily recommendation of mg in one time will just make you poop. So in short - on empty stomach ,(one hour before a meal/ two and more hours after a meal) 1/2 times a day is best. For vit D - It doesnt seems to matter much but its generally recommended to be around meal with some fats in it.

*#1... *SO, MAG GLYC IN THE EVENING WITH WATER*
*#2... D3 and K2* are fat soluble so MUST be taken with fats to be properly absorbed. theres also a timing issue with D3... too late in the day can also cause sleep issues.
*SO, D3 and K2 AFTER LUNCH ON A FULL STOMACH. MAKE SURE THERE ARE HEALTHY FATS INCLUDED IN YOUR LUNCH. (im keto so i dont have that issue)*
*#3... CALCIUM...* you should try to _avoid_ taking any of these with dairy sources as much as possible. that can also cut down on absorption. (very tricky for me cuz, again, im keto & cheese/cream/etc are a big part of my diet, so ive had to make changes to my dosing schedules).
*hope that helps (someone).its all a big pain in the ass & our bodies should just make this stuff & be done with it! whomever our 'creator' is messed that one up big time!!*

Citrate did zero for inflammation and more recently taurate did nothing as well.

Important points about getting vitamin D through sunlight is that in Northern climates the sun isn't intense enough during the winter months to make vitamin D. Also, to expose enough bare skin: arms and legs. Also to leave the sunscreen off for those 15 minutes as it blocks the absorption of the suns rays needed to produce it.

Magnesium is very high in pumpkin seeds and in sunflower seeds. Also remember, that the produce from any soil is going to be deficient in whatever is deficient in the soil it was grown in. Most of our soils are definitely to some extent in minerals.
Your maintenance dosage may be as low as 440mg, but to correct a deficiency you will need much more.
You also need K2 and Boron, and these both help to avoid the toxic effects of higher Vitamin D levels. If you don’t have enough magnesium and boron you will have trouble putting the calcium into your bones. If you don’t have enough K2 (not just K, but K2) then you will not be able to remove the calcification from your soft tissues like your heart and arteries and joints where you don’t want it. K2 also functions to kill foam cells and old macrophages, which are the precursor to Cardiovascular Disease.
You also need enough HDL to transport the K2 into the epithelial layers of your arteries in order to kill the foam cells. You get more HDL by eating a diet rich in healthy saturated fats and by rigorous exercise.
Take ALL seed oils out if your diet RTFN. Stop eating carbohydrates, and focus on a diet rich in animal protein and fat. Saturated fats have been demonized and misattributed as the source of Cardiovascular Disease, and that is wrong. Cardiovascular Disease comes from oxidized and glycated LDL, which happens when you eat too many carbs and not enough antioxidants.
The vitamin D council now recommends 5,000iu per day, and this is again a maintenance dose, not a deficiency correction dose. If you’re severely deficient you may need to take 10,20, or 40,000iu per day for a short time to bring yourself out of insufficiency level. Just br sure to follow up with another test for vitamin D to see how high you’ve been able to bring your levels. Once you’re out of the insufficiency zone (60 or better), then you can take a maintenance dose of 5,000iu/day.
But I’m not an MD, so this is PERSONAL advice from my own research and experimentation, NOT medical advice.

Dr John Campbell just did a great presentation on vitamin D3 toxicity and how we can tolerate much higher dosages than previously thought. I did 5000IU of D3 daily for a long time, but recently upped to about 16K. It definitely helps with my depression and anxiety, and regular magnesium supplementation (in several forms combined) seems to halt recurrent PVCs (heart palpitations) that I've had going on 40+ years. Check with your doctor? That’s funny 😂 and I’m saying this as a nurse. Unless you want pharmaceutical controlled information, which is not based on disease treatment or prevention, do your own research. If you don’t educate yourself on your own health you will not have it. Do you know how labs calculate normal ranges in blood tests? They take all of the blood tests that they have collected in a certain time range, drop the extremely low and the extremely high values and then average out the rest. Guess what? Depending on the lab value, the normal range is derived from lab values of the sickest population because they comprise a large volume of the labs that are collected and averages out.

@@seascape35 I know it sounds like an insane amount as it is 25 times the maximum government recommendations, but the government recommendations assume a significant intake from the sun (which I don’t get this time of year).
The following metastudy (link in the bottom) goes through all reports of toxicity where the intake doses are known. According to it, all observations of vitamin D intoxication where the blood concentration and intake dose are known involve a daily intake of ≥1000 μg (40000 IU).
      To put it into perspective:
One continuous 20-minute session of full-body sun exposure can provide the equivalent of 250 μg (10,000 IU) of oral vitamin D (for white skinned people). Keep in mind that two 20 minute sessions does not necessarily give twice the amount, as the skin is full of pre vitamin D after the first 20 minutes session and need to transport that away before there is room for more.
A study on submarine personnel found that a daily vitamin D intake of at least 100 μg (4000 IU) is necessary to ensure a blood vitamin D level of at least 100 nmol/L.
The reason for why I am taking such high doses (have done it for one month and will do it for two more), is to test if it can heal my psoriasis. I have seen a few studies successfully treating psoriasis with similar doses.

For most EU and US citizen the sun doesn't get to this elevation for half the year. As for vit.D through food you would basically have to live on nothing but fatty wild fish (cultured fish doesn't feed on vit.D rich plankton so it has only about 1/3 the vir.D of wild fish). Magnesium malate is said to be the best, as you get magnesium AND malic acid out of it. Malic acid is what makes apple cider vinegar different from other vinegars. I buy malic acid as a white powder at a winemaking store; super-affordable, like 2 bucks for a bag; and I make magnesium malate by making an ultra-pure magnesium bar bubble in boiling water with a pinch of malic acid in it.
EDIT: To increase bone strength you need indeed vitamin D, magnesium and vitamin K2; but you need other things as well, such as Strontium. Our bones are like 5% strontium, or want to be, but it is also pretty lacking in today's food. Additionally, bone is not just minerals; it is also a matrix of collagen where those minerals are contained; and we stop making collagen after age 40 due to lack of vitamin C primarily, and lack of Lysine secondarily. So, taking about 6 grams of vitamin C and 3 grams of L-lysine amino-acid per day, the so-called "Pauling Protocol", is essential to bone health.

If you're taking Vitamin D3 you definitely want to be taking Vitamin K2 the MK7 version. You can also get Vitamin K2 by eating cheese and butter from grass fed cows. It's not only good for your bones but it makes sure that any calcium in your system is going into your bones and not in your arteries and soft tissues. When you increase Vitamin D it will increase calcium in your system. Do your research and watch some youtube videos on Vit K2 and D3.

But even so many people are have deficiency of this vitamin so it is really important to get out for at least 15 minutes everyday to get some sunshine and fresh air. Vitamin D is best absorbed if taken with some kind of fat. Magnesium relaxes your muscles and have so many other benefits but it should be taken one hour before taking other medications because it can decrease the benefit of other medicines. Thanks for shedding light on all the aspects and benefits of all these vitamins and minerals and letting know it is always good to get test your blood levels before supplementing anything. As for Glycinate (glycine), I use it every night (plus NAC) to help with my sleep.
Also, don’t overdo almonds (or oxalate-rich foods), as the high oxalates can wreak havoc in your body and make things worse (See: Sally Norton, RN). Then there’s the Omega 6 issue. Nuts are high in LA, an O6. Too much will bring on back/spinal pain that you’ll regret… I know because I did just that. For me, it’s critical to keep the O3:O6 in balance, otherwise I can hardly move because of the pain.
