Good question! It's made of what they are calling "Sprung Steel". I think it can maybe be called "Spring Steel". But, I've heard of Spring Steel blades being heavier and thicker. Either way, it's not a combat weight blade and they are not sharpened. It's for training and demonstration. In China it's illegal to carry around or use battle-ready sharpened blades, so these flexible blades are pretty common on this weapon and a lot of swords for training, demonstration and competitions. They make a snapping sound when you wield them correctly, which shows that you are transmitting power from your stance and body into the blade.
No offence.... without doubting the skills , flabby material cold bladed weapons in CMA need to be replaced with sturdy version resembling close to real ones... no matter what, weight does matter in doing forms , even with real weight weapons has yet to be " completed " with application
Thanks for the insight! I'm taking it from the Pinyin "Pǔ dāo" in Mandarin. My master Pan Qing Fu 潘清福 always pronounced it "Pu" in his Shandong Mandarin.
I never saw any kind of body moves more estetic and perfect than this. Amazing !
Can you tell me the background music. I love it 😍
Probably kinda late but the song is The way of the warrior by Yi Nantiro
@@greasepipe9999 ok thx ^¬^
Love the transitions at 0:20 and 0:30
Ya, he's really good. He was my personal coach when I trained there. BTW, I used Image Stabilization on this one! :-)
@@DaWeiGongfu well done friend! It does make a difference. Honestly, it distracted from the beauty/grace before.
Very fluid and fast giving it power and grace.
Wow! That was extremely beautiful, I am speechless
Amazing performing
I have no words to express what an amazing performance 💛❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💜💜💙💚💚💛🧡♥️♥️♥️❤️🧡💛
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Ming and Zuo are both exceptional martial artists!
@@DaWeiGongfu we can guess from this video 🙏🙏
Great moves but isnt the blade to much flexy? Shouldnt It be more stiff not moving so much around? Or is this normal?
Great vid!
I think this is Wushu. Focuses more on the Art than the Martial. So they aren't real weapons
It's not considered a "live" blade, the Wushu weapons for forms exhibitions are all kinda wobbly.
excellent form, both are impeccable
Wudang is Daoist, and is very often a different feel from the Shaolin based forms which are Buddhist.
Can someone explain the idea behind the blade. I see it flapping

Part of the reason they're like that is so you learn to snap force through the blade.
Also, it looks cool.
It look like Soucalibur Sega dreamcast😊
Smoooth
That should be Podao(朴刀), not Pudao. 朴 has different pronunciations and "Po" should be the right one here.

好刀法,就開始那一刀,就能把人給砍飛彈上一樓的平台。不過刀片也太薄了點吧。
这是真的。 现代刀片通常很薄。

LOL! fake flimsy bladed not Real Guan Dao!
That’s a pudao, not a guandao. They’re all made that way.
It's just a training weapon. I doubt a lot of people want to run around with a functional weapon.
@@wolf3001 A lot of people do want to run around with a functional weapon. It's everyone else doesn't want them to.
