It is heartwarming to know that he survived after that death defying escape. This is a sad reality for our korean brothers and sisters both on the north and south - 1950s many families were displaced because of war. The south was able to recover but the North was held hostage and was trapped in a time 50 years from today. There are a lot of people young and old who tried to escape, stories for which where published online, this speaks volume on how the living standards are inside the country - people wants freedom and be able to live without fear. Time changes everything, I am sure there will be a resolution soon - hang in there.

No outstanding quality blah blah = zero to none career development. No family and friends there. Nobody he shared past memory with is there, he has to support himself with literally everything, and worst of all, the people were only seeking for one thing, *money.* I wonder if he can adapt to it even though when he's in old age. It is not short term adaptation, its forever. There's no going back.
2 mins of having people explain to him what he experienced.
Okay, did he find Miss. YOON SE-RI in the end?
ah you are a man of culture
elite comment 10/10
I hope so. 😂 He looks like hyun bin oppa actually.
@@msbhicks8358 ah, i see you're a man of culture as well

Don’t be a scrub.
I am so very Happy he made it and lived . I can tell he is a really nice guy and he is welcome in my home in America any time . Honest . Wish him happiness and hope he enjoys his freedom . God Bless you Oh Chong Song . Take Care . You are a very Brave person !
The relief this guy must have felt when he woke up, incredibly
God bless him. I’m so happy he was able to get out
Such a handsome young man, glad he survived, so sad what he and so many others have to go through. makes me appreciate my freedom a lot more.
Massive respect to the South Korean soldiers who saved him.
I seriously hope North Korea will get better in the future, I feel sad for the people
I hope if at all possible without another world war occurring, that the country is liberated and becomes a better place
as long as the kims are there, there’s no hope for north korea
@Ashu: The only way that will happen is if someone or some government takes Kim Jong Un out. The only way. And barring a miracle, that won't happen, because there are no valuable resources in N. Korea that any country wants. Unreal how this world works. (And DOESN'T.)
@@Missditabomb true
@@Missditabomb Lol no only way to stop North Korea is for the soldiers to stop being slaves and fulfill every command. Kim Jong Un is not as evil as the soldiers doing what he says.
applause to the South Korean soldiers who helped him at the last stretch of the road
Great to see his face and glad he survived to enjoy his freedom. I feel bad for his family and hope they are still alive and that he will reunite with them one day.
Great that he is enjoying his life more now and will continue to do so. He deserves it! Hope visits the US one day. I would love to meet him.
This was too short! I hope they have a special 2 hour documentary about him, his life in North Korea and what motivated him to risk his life to defect. He was truly lucky and hope that his family and other defectors will be as lucky.
@jadidweto you don't even know his family lmao
from what i hsve gathered hes probably the last of his generation so yea
Almost had me in tears, the courage needed to escape and face a hail of bullets just to gain freedom, something we all take for granted that’s for sure. Such a brave man. I’m so happy he is alive and able to enjoy his freedom that he fought so hard to gain.
dang whats good, say wutup to my @ handle
I looked this guy up today after the memory of his defection randomly popped up in my mind. Glad to see he is doing well. And he's handsome too!
White guys are more handsome
Man was crawling his way out with two bullets in his stomach and one in his lung. He was getting out of there dead or alive. Respect
Ri Jeong Hyeok just wants to reunite with his lover, man.
He really wanted to check if yoon se-ri was fine.
who?
@@reem5886 Ahhhh hahaha i was so confused. Thank you
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
AHAHAH YESSS, I WAS LOOKING FOR A COMMENT LIKE THIS
He's so brave. I'm so proud of him. He's also able to feed a guest which in NK would be a luxury. That's insane
I only wish his family is ok, but man I respect this brave soul.
according to the 3 generations policy they not doing so good some of them are possibly dead or in prison including the children
I'm so glad he's okay. He seems like such a nice man. 😊
He is a good guy with balls of steel!
Son of a NK general eh! I guess the generals family was fed to the wild dogs.
The whole family line of that guy are probably tortured or dead, including the family's children. North Korea has no mercy for defectors that flee the country.
Makes this an even more powerful turning point one way or another for North Korea.
Rab lablook but why can't all The citizens of north Korea just start a revolution ?
i mean There's Probably 3/4 of the entire population whose actually against the government???
@@Thedreamer9999910 I mean problem is north Koreans don't have a second amendment to help facilitate their revolt, plus they're mostly near starving already and hella scared of everyone/everything
K X nothing Communist about common sense gun laws. School children should have the right and liberty to go to school without fear of being killed because some crazy person or terrorist wasn’t vetted first before buying a military style assault rifle.
dude the way this guys escaped was legendary, not only did he take the most dangerous route, he did it in the most badass way. he ran straight through the DMZ like a boss
Good for him!!! I’m so glad he escaped and is ok. I want him to live a long, happy life with his well-earned freedom. It breaks my heart how many people suffer in North Korea every day.
“Everytime i watch the video, i realize im alive”
I guess its still hard to farhom surviving that ordeal.
to be honest if i were appart of the group shooting that guy i would've escaped with him.
Seriously, would’ve shot at them and escaped with the fellow but hey probably had a family to hold them back
Unfortunaly you couldnt because your whole family and its next 3 generations would be tortured or be murdered
@@KoiBlou then das tuff
If I was one of his friends, I'd miss on purpose...maybe some did...reason for holes in the walls.
I would be more interested if in the end he realizes that life in extremely capitalistic South korea is as bad as the things he was told by the communist in school. No education = no job. No outstanding quality blah blah = zero to none career development. No family and friends there. Nobody he shared past memory with is there, he has to support himself with literally everything, and worst of all, the people were only seeking for one thing, *money.*
I wonder if he can adapt to it even though when he's in old age. It is not short term adaptation, its forever. There's no going back. (He might end up realized that he shouldnt cross the border 50 years and felt bad for his father later with no way to say "Im sorry, dad")
It will be a great psychological battle that will never ends.
One thing for certain, he will miss his friends and family greatly.
Mission impossible: Escape North Korea
Lead role: Oh Chong Song
I'm so happy he made it. I admire his courage.
Freedom is the most beautiful thing you can ever have.
So brave of him.. I'm actually tearing up... How he risked his life for his freedom🥺❤️
Nice looking young man...I'm so glad he survived...I wish him well and hope he finds peace 🙏🏽
❤
I’m more curious about the decision of getting Stewie to be the narrator
Whaaaat ?
Darth - u don’t get the joke? Oh no...
imagine how much thoughts he was thinking the whole time he was driving the jeep
Imagine if he looked at the gas gauge and it read E.
@@justsayinfornow5274 ahhhh shet!!!!! 🤯
How close was he from the border when he started running and once crossed, they have to stop shooting? That's insane.
I'd gladly buy him a cup of coffee. Glad he made it
Buy him a house if your any good
The part that he said that his father is a general was shocking
He truly made the ultimate sacrifice for his freedom.
yeah, his family.
The narrator sound like the kind of guy who fake surprise everything he sees
He survived and is enjoying his freedom, just like everyone should 👍
Except his family, who are all probably dead.
@@mynamesjeff.f Probably very true. But to me it sounds like his father is his only close relative but of course I don't know that.
as an american i am so disgusted that we have to go to war over racial differences and who gets to use what bathroom based on their self-proclaimed identity
I'm quarter north korean - my grandmother moved to the south during the japanese occupation, but still, I wake up everyday haunted if I had ended up in the north, under a repressive regime and not able to think twice about the freedoms I have now.
Johan Cha America was built off racism
Galaxy Really? Built on racism? Because the slave trade and practice of displacement wasn’t already established by native populations amongst themselves? Before European settlers came there was war, genocide, slavery and hatred strongly expressed in every single tribal nation. Don’t blame your issues on history.
Code Name by you saying that America was still again built off racism this is nothing but facts open your history books
Galaxy America was built off of freedom and guns.
Fumbles not at all
America would be lucky to have someone so brave come visit. He seems like a good guy. I cant imagine what he has been through. Him mentioning american doctors was really cool.
I really hope he has a happy future and he is being treated very well wherever he is!
this dude looks like the long lost sibling of the guy who played the north korean protag in crash landing LMAO
Hope he finds peace 🙏
He’s more than welcomed over here in the US🇺🇸💪🏼
I commend him for his bravery! I hope his life is going well! He deserves it!
This should’ve been longer, I wanted to hear more from him and how he’s settling into life in s.Korea now
he has a good jaw line
Handsome fellow
what about his cheekbones
And is that relevant is any way?
Michie Craig that’s from starving in nk
God don’t tell me you’re one of those incels who are obsessed with jawlines
Man, we need to treasure these people. It is not their fault they have been lied to their whole lives, starved, forced into combat, everything taken from them, etc. This man is a hero in my eye even though he only saved himself.
And I’m here being blessed to live in America. These guys go through something deeper. 😢
The Narrator kinda sounds like Gordon Ramsay and when I thought if that, I can’t unhear it-
I'm hopeful he writes a book. It would be a very interesting read. Happy for him that he escaped, and he's very brave.
He is very brave. He is grateful to those that helped him. May his health recover and he enjoy his freedom.
I am happy that he is alive now and living well after going through so much pain
I will never know a more great full person than this man. May your dream of visiting the United States come true. 🇰🇷 🇺🇸
The only interview question was what was it like to be shot at by your friends? It's a question, sure, but what about before or after thay incident? Ask him about life before, what is nk like, what lead him to escape, hows he been since he escaped...
Im pretty sure a guy which was nearly killed doesn't want bright lights and cameras shoved in his face all day though.
May God protect him and all people who are trying to flee from evil. You all deserve a better life and you will get it soon. ♥
