First time I ever saw the iconic Manhattan skyline was way back in 1999. Omg, I can't describe with words how fascinated I was by it. It's like seeing something that only existed in a movie, in fantasy, and then you realize it actually exists.
@@dnatah the sensation is really incredible. Fame is something that fascinates humans. I once saw a celebrity and the feeling was somewhat analogous, it's fun!
Damn. I’ve flown into and over dubai multiple times , spain , Turkey etc but nothing compares to the new york skyline. All I wish , is for once in my lifetime , I get to see it and maybe even stop by and fulfil that one dream I’ve held since I was very small.
@@robkeane3197 Yeah, I just guessed because they were flying over Manhattan. As it's the tallest building, we should have seen it but all those lights in Manhattan made it hard to see
They flew over the WTC at around 1:32, Downtown wasn't visible in the frame though. It's a separate skyline from Midtown, which is shown with Times Square, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, etc. Look up other LaGuardia landings to see the WTC, there are a lot of good ones.
I see your point, flying economic class is a horrible experience, with how worse flying has become since the late 90's. Each year companies made it worse to maximize their profits.
@@radioactivification Don't lie to these people. We know that Chicago cannot match the atmosphere and energy that New York has. If you're visiting America for the first time, go to New York, it's by far the greatest city in America and the world.
Rosa Onate it’s cool but I wish I could experience it how you guys do I have been flying there 3 times a year since I was 4 years old and lived there part of my life you guys see it as an amazing sight and big city and honestly.....I see it as home
There is a huge skyscraper boom happening right now. They just built 2 more even taller supertall buildings along Central Park South, Hudson Yards is a huge development of multiple supertall buildings that effectively create a new skyline district. One Vanderbilt just became the tallest office building in Midtown, and Central Park Tower is the tallest residential building on Earth. Downtown is not booming quite as much, but 56 Leonard St, 111 Murray Street, and 130 William Street, are all complete or nearing completion, with 40 Broad Street and 2 World Trade Center are still being constructed, we just don't know exactly when. New York's skyline has become massively bigger/taller in the last 5 years.

With that said, I hope non-americans watching this video realize that if you ever move to the US, you will find making a living in this country can be a nightmare. Housing is extremely expensive in Manhattan, and the quality is really really lousy. Condos are the worst, it seems the USA standard for condos is one of the worst in the world (paper thin walls everywhere, dull facades). That's unlike Canada and Brazil, the latter has amazing highrises, and Sao Paulo has the most highrises in the world, many of which would put 99% of the US condos to shame. You don't have to go very far to realize this, some american movies show this all the time. Some of their condos are those simplistic condos with plain balconies with bicycles on display lol. Many motels are like that. I see lots of that kind of construction here in Miami. Not I'm not saying that all their condos suck, luxury condos are obviously better, but they are far from being the majority of condos. Now as for Brazil, anyone who has been to Rio or Sao Paulo, will be able to recognize this.

That would seem really cool to live in Manhattan.
Probably not a good idea to point out where you live in public.
I see it 🤖
I think the rest of Manhatten really needs to start building taller, like lower manhatten and around Times Square/Empire State building is.
Lower manhattan doesn't have a solid bedrock for skyscrapper's foundation, plus there's a zoning law involved in that particular area.
Midtown is the only place in NYC that will grow. Everywhere else is heavily zoned, and for good reason.
