- In this video I will unbox and review a MISB
Japanese ehobby exclusive figure. This is the 2009 black megatron figure.
Using the original G1 mould which was a microman / change figure even before that.
I’ll show you both modes even the heart stopping hand in mouth transformation process even with the known GPS issues on this figure

You are absolutelly right to be very carefully transforming this exact Ehobby version of Megatron because of the gold plastic syndrome. Bought mine a while ago MINT and sealed on ebay for a recently good price and on the same day I got him, one of those little knobs to pull out his fists just broke of. Thanks God I was able to repair the damage invisably by hand drilling a tiny hole with a 0.3mm drill into the two broken parts and glue a 0.3mm steel pin in to connect the two parts permanently together again. But it was a bit of a pain in the a**. Be careful with those knobs on his fists. They brake of instantly.
Really pleased you managed to fix yours
This thing is absolutely beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing and patiently transforming him for us so carefully.
No problem. Another heart in mouth video done and never to be repeated
Great video.. no way boring and very educational! Never thought this suffered from gps and your close up shots made it clear… looking forward to my first g1 megs arriving this week so even the transformation was useful so cheers!
Glad it was helpful. I always wonder when I’m taking ages to transform him if it is boring. But I obviously don’t want to break it.
I HAD to go back and watch you break that stratosphere figure and I just LOVE how the video just goes from you giving a review on the toy then when it breaks you just promptly put it down and the video just stops....abruptly🤣 Like you were so mad that you just broke it you had to put it down and just scream🤣
I just couldn’t believe it actually happened. Had nothing left to say.
I have it since 2014 nothing have ever break and i play with it a lot !!!
You’re very lucky then
Thank you for posting. Was on the market and am glad i got the s16 reissue instead so i wont have to worry about gps which i didnt know was on that version. Educational.
Glad I could help
MEGAPLEX!!!!!!
I want one soooo bad. I Just love the Blue instead of Red we’re more accustomed to. Especially if the Blue was paired with the Chrome parts.
Thanks, Russ, for taking the time (and the risk) to open up this rare and expensive version of Megs. I don’t think anyone blames you for taking extra special care when transforming it. Ol’ Megatron is fiddly enough as is to transform. And there’s already enough risk of breakage without having to worry about the plastic possibly being extremely brittle.
Again, Thanks for filming this, and for sharing the unboxing with us!
Take Care and Stay Safe
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I do really want to share as much of the rare stuff as I can. But sometimes I have to draw a line somewhere. I can always and have done in other megatron videos. Shown all accessories attached to him.
Looks great. Thanks for showing
Thanks for watching
I had no clue this guy suffered from GPS! You’re the first I ever heard even mention that for a G1 Megatron mold.
I was actually close to getting one mint in box last year but now I can see why they had it secured tight in a collector box!
Great video as usual!
Thanks for watching. Yeah as soon as I had it in hand I could see it’s the same style of plastic as black zarak and killbison etc
Riding into Valhalla shiny and chrome
Shiny chrome rules
Sadly, it used brittle sparkly brown plastic, meaning that attaching his sword or gun in his fists in robot mode, and the stock in Walther P-38 mode will crumble.
(sighs) I wish somebody be making the 3d-printed replacements of G1 Megatron's hands and casting them in flat brown plastic...
Yeah I was really surprised to read that and was glad I did before I put anything in his hand.
I just bought this but, I'm not opening it and it's going straight into a case. It'll be the only Transformers I have that'll be put into a case. I've been wanting one for a while now and finally bought it.
Really pleased you know own one too
Wow! I really love that figure
It’s a lovely version of him
congratulations russ thats very great amazing awesome review ehobby japanese ultra rare micro change collection toys figurine black megatron decepticons transformers original g1. thank you toys are russ have a great week god bless 🤘🎸
Thanks David
@@ToysareRussyou're welcome russ have a great week god bless 🤘🎸
Ive has this figure since release and been transforming him this entire time 😅 no issues at all. .
Insane its been fine (though the sword snapped long ago
That’s great. I’m pleased yours is fine
@@ToysareRuss I'll probs not tho now I know. You probs saved the figure making this
I think it’s just this version that has GPS. It’s a later reissue - the problem is in the handle - that brown gold colour. Great video. I was tense watching it.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Oh Stratosphere… around 2009 is correct, Unite Warriors Motormaster in 2015 was the last reported case but it was a gunmetal plastic. Megatron suffering from ‘BPS’ is new, not sure why they recoloured that section to begin with. Looks very reminiscent to Skyquake’s bronze plastic.
It’s exactly the same that’s why as soon as I saw it I panicked. Especially as if promised an unboxing and review
Got this today. From Japan.
Amazing. Really pleased for you
@@ToysareRuss Yeah pretty new to buying these things. This is the second one I got.
If Megatron wasn’t easy enough to break before… it’s now much easier for him to crumble!
I know! That’s why he’s getting scarcer and scarcer
I don't know why they went with the chrome, rather than the all black of the original.
I've been using Armor All protectant on my gold plastic. Not sure if it does anything, but if stops, or even delays the GPS, then it's a few quid well-spent.
Send me a picture or link of that please pal. I’ve got a few things I’d like to try it on too.
That swirly gold plastic is jumping off the screen. Otherwise looks mighty sharp though.
It’s very scary.
Anything but boring Russ lol almost held my breath the entire transformation! Thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for commenting
How does he look on your shelf now?
He’s fine. No issues
You keep mentioning Diaclone where some toys like this one actually came from Microman. Whoops. GPS, probably more like BPS on this figure. :D But still, he does look very impressive. Fortunately the damaged part was easy to put back on, though it's a pity that he couldn't 'get his sorword' (As Philoctetes in Hercules would say) as along with the scope cannon, it would really make him menacing, but it's understandable what with the GPS/BPS and all.
BPS = Brown Plastic Syndrome, LOL.
Maybe he can be sold as a gun again, but they;ll have to give him very bright colours in places to show people that he is a toy and not a real gun, but who knows? If anything they wouldn't use this colour scheme though as Black Megatron would be too realistic to sell to kids nowadays.
I always mix up diaclone and microchange. Someone has commented that they just broke theirs very recently.
@@ToysareRuss I can imagine it's common after a while since we know them more as one toy line, rather then two. OUCH! That's rough to hear, especially if it may have been a new figure. :(
The question is whether this figure even exists and how much it costs
Of course it exists as I’ve got one.
They’re on ebay if you search for ehobby megatron. They sell between 250-300
@@ToysareRuss thanks 🙏🙏🙏🙏
So you wouldn’t recommend buying this figure
If you do keep it in the box. Don’t play with it. The gold plastic can be very fragile.
@@ToysareRuss I ve never opened it and is still sealed I just kind of display it that way didn’t want to decrese the value by opening it
