Trying to explain the lag caused by mechanical crafters. Mechanical Crafters are what is called a BlockEntity, these BlockEntities also have what is called a BlockEntityRenderer, which as the name suggests replaces the default rendering for said Block. The result of that is that the game can't efficiently "batch" render your screen, which it can do with Stone, or even the Sequential Fabricator(which is a TileEntity not a BlockEntity and has therefore the default rendering method). Batching in simple terms allows the game to cache the pre-render result and apply it to each of those applicable. So it creates 1 variant of the Stone and slaps it on all of the Stone. The same can not be done with BlockEntities as each of them can have a seperate State which would also change their visuals.
Fantastic Builds! Genuinely a fan of what you’ve accomplished so far Just a tip, to deal with the black shadows that cover the train contraptions when in motion: Go to the create config in the menu when u press esc Go to client settings Scroll all the way down until you find ‘Contraption Lighting’ iirc Set the number to a max number like 999999 And for trains especially as big as yours, they shouldn’t have those annoying black shadows, helping with cinematics!
The Create steam n rails add-on that you're using does provide you with actual train signals you can use in place of the lamps. Also, yes, there is a toolbox in vanilla create as well.
Use mixers!!! They cause barely any lag and already have so many crafting recipes that nobody’s knows abt just add a few more using a datapack and boom u have your lag problem fixed and still stay within the boundaries of create mod without adding anything new!!
If you are going to be adding some of the mods that require a power source to improve gameplay / reduce lag, but still want to be a create majority focused series, you could make it so the only power you can produce is from one of the create power mods, like New Age or Crafts and Additions
I know you already have Storage Drawers established in your world, but for a nice addition or future addition, I'd recommend Functional Storage since they have Ender drawers, among other things
You can stabilize FPS above 60 by capping at 65-75, that way hitches are less noticeable. If you hitch at 60, it could take 5-15 frames off, which is obvious, but hitching at 75 or 80 just puts you at 60-55, which is hardly noticeable. Try frame limiting your device using your GPU software panel as well, 75-80 is a good range, and it will limit external programs from attempting to hog resources when they aren't supposed to. Setting up Windows/Linux to use the .exe as a prioritized program can help as well; this ensures that Minecraft is the biggest priority and receives the most resources from your GPU. You do this in Windows by visiting your Graphics settings menu in the Windows Settings, then finding the specific installation .exe you need to prioritize and adding it to the list. Not sure about Linux. You may also need to increase your deticated WAM as your save gets more complex in some regions. 250-700mb should do for what you have, but careful not to go overboard, as I'm sure you know that purging excess RAM causes extreme lag. Also, creating a run command to start MC in High Priority mode, like designating it as such in Task Mangler, can help, but is more nuanced and less straightforward than above steps and tips. I enjoy your creative ventures here enough to have built my own modpack around Create and space stuff (again), thanks for the boost in morale.
Also also, I just found that the Flywheel backend options will tell Flywheel to use different methods to render things. /flywheel backend batching will tell it to use your CPU while /flywheel backend instancing will tell it to use your GPU. Batching has apparently relieved some peoples' lag issues. You can also use none, and I think these are available in the Create settings somewhere. I have yet to try this myself, but having a beefy CPU and a preloaded world or even a server would make batching exclusively better than instancing.
You can compact the iron machine. Instead of making nuggets, ingots, blocks and sheets you can just make nuggets and sheets. Use a compacting drawer to compact iron nuggets in to ingots and blocks
If you're planning of using thermal for item transportation, check if Item Ducts are in the mod. im not sure if maybe its just in my version or was disabled by the pack im playing, but item ducts dont seem to be in the newer versions (energy and fluid ducts still exit though). Although theres at least the Logistical Item Buffer (im not sure if its new or not) which does work for filtering (i think it has all the functions of smart chutes and more but im not sure).
Brilliant video! i have a few good ish solutions Mine colonies has a bunch of buildings that that can create a bunch of the items you want to make. you can also set up the machines to only run when your storage is below a certain amount for a specific item so they are not constantly running. i believe you have a similar system set up for your other creations.
19:00 For auto crafting your stuff you could centralise it all in one place with another cool build so it’s just lagging in one area. your videos are amazing keep up the good work man🎉. Is there a world download if not can you give us one on day 5000✌️
LOVE THESE VIDEOS YEAHHHH By the way you should consider swapping to sophisticated backpacks because they have more upgrades and tons of space! Loved the video @Sbeev! Can't wait for the next video man! The Hair you found is from the Visceral Heap Biome in Biomes O Plenty. You've basically come across the one place in the Mod that even Nether Mobs don't want to be near because of all the Flesh and other Bodily Parts that make up the Biome. It is the One Modded Biome in the Nether where nothing Survives! Also, Nice to hear about the Lag and what can probably be done to minimize it. You might be Able to do a Mix of Thermal Dynamics and Create for your Storage and Item Transfer Systems, that way the Lag from the Autocrafters and Smart Chutes should be Negated by the Blocks in Thermal Dynamics. Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man!
~20:00 it's never a good idea to look at fps as an indicator for lag as it fluctuates way too much depending on random variables, instead you want to look at the milliseconds it takes for things to process. I know this is a 3 month old video but if end up reading this I highly highly recommend spark (for general performance testing) and observable (for testing block lag). Anyways great series, been hooked so far :D
I just had the same problem trying to create a superflat world, pretty annoying. Thanks for the testing at the end that is helpful! Your factory looks awesome btw
I am interested to see how it goes with the Thermal Series blocks, seeing how they need FE, does make a very good excuse to make a new pretty factory to house the power generation.
Sbeev, You should have Applied Energetics. It is Storage Mod using Pipes which is very cool and but it takes lots of resources and Time. One more Suggestion. Add Nuclear Craft, No Explainations needed here it is well known mod which is about Nuclear Mod.
If you ever want better storage in your backpack and your playing on forge, you could use a mod called Sophisticated Backpacks. It's a lot better than the Travelers Backpack mod ur using.
If having lag issues, could try setting up the world on a server on a seperate pc to see if that helps-could help offload some of the processing Or a gpu upgrade could help, running a 1650 might be slowing ya down a bit-upgrading to an rtx card might make the improvement you could use
Hey Sbeev for your mechanical crafter, you don't need to use the plugs on it for one off crafts. You can activate it with a button and it will try to craft whatever is available.
There's a create molten metals add-on that you can store molten metals in tanks and whatnot. Also, you could do a 21x21x23 cubic area of lava to make an unlimited source of fuel. I don't know what the dimension should be but I think that means 10,000 cubic blocks
If you have a computer you’re not using, maybe trying running it as a server locally on your network. Would have to stop the Minecraft server so day count wouldn’t get crazy. I like to use AMP cube coders to control mine.
The wireless transfers are so disturbing for me. You have built a train network and now you just use these things instead. Also, a lot of the recipes you made with crafters could be replaced with other create components like slab crafting with a saw
Storage drawer logistics are THE best logistics ever. They are both the fastest and the most optimized. You just use them in a very stupid way. It takes practice to get them right. Just know that what you're doing now is wrong and think of how to improve it.
what's the camera mod you used at 7:55? I know you run on forge and I've been looking for a camera mod like this for a while. also great videos man! keep it up :)
@Sbeev i suggest making a storage building for all the blueprints on a shelf or some kind of container and label trains, factories, bridges or other mycelanes stuff

Adventure bags has the one boon of a bedroll (some he just never uses) think of it as a sleeping bag mod made into the pack mod too.
RF Tools crafters are also a good option if you need to craft a huge amount of items iirc

I like builds like this where you don't know where it came from and you like it those are definitely the best kind of builds 3:26
Tom's simple storage mod is good to use with create and is not high-tech looking so it will fit the builds style
There's a Create addon called Create: New Age which I think uses the same power source as Thermal if you're wondering how you'd go about that.
Download Sophisticated Storage or another mod for big chests

You can maybe connect that new carfter into a create mod for power generation?
Also sbeev have an amazing day and keep making amazing videos!

what's the camera mod you used at 7:55? I know you run on forge and I've been looking for a camera mod like this for a while. also great videos man! keep it up :)
The Quark mod adds the redstone crafter from mc 1.21, a nice vanilla alternative to mechanical crafters. (For 3x3 recipes and smaller of course)
@Sbeev i suggest making a storage building for all the blueprints on a shelf or some kind of container and label trains, factories, bridges or other mycelanes stuff
