How to Use the HyperX QuadCast Microphone

- The HyperX QuadCast is a full-featured standalone USB condenser microphone. This Quick Start Guide will help you get set up and started.

Polar Patterns
Four selectable polar patterns are available, including Stereo, Omnidirectional, Cardioid, and Bidirectional. Set the switch to the pickup pattern you need.
Stereo
If you’re recording something with vocals or instruments that you want output in 2-channel stereo, then select the stereo setting. While in this mode, the QuadCast will record audio as a stereo image, so you can easily record stereo audio without needing a second microphone.
Omnidirectional
Select this pattern to select if you want to record all the sound in the entire room for things like a conference call or a multi-person podcast. Omnidirectional captures sound from all directions.
Cardioid
For things like single-person streaming and voiceovers, select the cardioid pattern. This is best for a single audio source directly in front of the microphone.
Bidirectional
If you’re recording a face-to-face interview, the bidirectional pattern will be the setting you want to use since it captures sound from the front and back.
Tap to Mute
A convenient tap-to-mute sensor lets you simply tap the top of the mic to mute it. The LED indicator makes it easy to tell whether you’re muted. If the LED indicator is lit, the mic is active, if it’s off, the mic is muted. Knowing your mic status will help prevent embarrassing on-stream accidents.
Headphone Monitoring
The headphone output allows you to monitor your microphone output on a headphone. Just plug a headset into the back of the QuadCast and you can hear what is being captured. Mic monitoring can be disabled on PC and Mac. Consult manual for instructions based on your OS.
Mount Adaptor
The QuadCast comes with a 3/8 and 5/8 inch mount adapter that fits most mic arms. Remove the screw connecting the mic to the stand. Attach the mount adapter, and the QuadCast and its built-in shock mount can now be attached to the boom arm.

The tapping feature is something that is really brilliant for streamers. not that I do stream but the LED's showing if its on can be big to avoid privacy issues.
Most people have a dedicated mute button but with this you dont need it

I realized I can plug in my Cloud Alpha's into this and it changed my life. I have sidetone now and the wire doesn't need to be plugged into the back of the PC.... best EVER
i came from logitech which as built in sidetone too so i love this so much

I’ve been recommended by a friend of mine to try out this microphone. I’ve wanted to get a nice upgrade microphone and for me personally, I might go with the hyperx quadcast mic. Especially since I love the black and red design, with the built in shock mount and pop filter. Definitely gonna be excited once I order the mic and try it out!

@@MikeKollin I got the hyperx. I am not sure which is better but when I play and talk with my friends on discord I prefer using it Close than far away. So if you have a blue yeti idk if its better longer away but I know the hyperx is better for closer :-)

Hi! I ordered mine and it does not output audio but i hear myself but my friends does not hear me on discord i tried EVERYTHING maybe you can help me?
I cannot really see what you are seeing, but check to see if there is the HyperX microphone in the output settings, or the audio meter, if that does not work, I am pretty sure that Discord is the problem, not the microphone. I still have my HyperX microphone and it still works great.
Can you connect a bluetooth headset to the mic to hear the audio input??
The HyperX QuadCast doesn't have Bluetooth, so something like that isn't possible. If your Bluetooth headset has a 3.5mm jack, then you could connect to the 3.5mm on the back of the QuadCast :) .

On your website it looks like it is advertised with pictures of people using it with wireless headphones, that's why I was confused.
In your initial message, you were asking if you can connect a Bluetooth headset to the mic to hear the audio input, and we've explained why it's not possible. However, if you're connecting your Bluetooth headset to the PC, and also have a QuadCast connected to your PC via USB, then you can set your headset to be the default output device and the QuadCast as the default input device :) .

Do you think it makes a difference when using a regular pop-filter, verses one of those that stick right on to the mic?

Only a little, I prefer the ones that stick right on to the mic because of convenience, but the regular pop-filter is often a little better since you can move around the filter depending on what sound you want on your P/B etc.
Hi I just bought this recently and it sounds great but when I switch the patterns there’s no difference in where the audio is captured. Do I need some additional software or no?

The video clearly tells you what the Polar Patterns provide. Onmidirectional will receive sound from all around the microphone... Stereo will help with sounds to differentiate from Left and Right... Bidirectional will help with sounds coming from 2 Directions....
Cardioid will help focus sounds coming into the microphone from one side of the Mic... Like for example a Single Person Streamer talking for a Live stream or maybe while playing video games on Multiplayer

This is kinda late, but I bought this a while ago, and it's great, but it picks up too much sound. My keyboard isn't that loud, but it's amplified with the mic. Even when it's on a low gain setting. I can't seem to remove the keyboard and background sound from my audio.

ik this is kind of late, but some softwares and games have noise suppression that should solve that issue

I am super dylexic and I often would mute my yeti and not know people could hear me while deep into a game. The quadcast's light is very useful so I haven't had this issue since.

I found this mic picked up a lot of background noise, how can I fix it
Turn down the mic sensitivity knob on the bottom and check which polar pattern you have selected. Try to pick the pattern that is aimed at the audio you wish to pick up only.

Sure, it will work with wireless headphones too. If you are connecting it to your PC, select the Quadcast as your input device microphone.

its just a regualar mic boom arm that you can get for around £10 or $10
In case anyone is still searching for the arm, it's a Foxnovo (cheap arm, i have it for my quadcast works perfectly), cost a bit less than 20€ in EU.

I have thought about getting a hyperx quadcast after my confimation, and i have been looking at a mic arm, that supports 3,8 and its really nice that the quadcast mic comes with a 3,8 and 5,8 supporter and btw i also have the keyboard from you, and once i saw on instagram that hyperx now got the keyboard with rgb lighting, and i got so happy and then i came home and found out that you had to buy a whole new keyboard to get the rgb lighting, but it is a really great keyboard :)

I bought the HyperQX QuadCast on Q3'20 and 3 months later, HyperX released QuadCast S. But it's still the best gaming microphone I ever had. I love RGB but I'm not gonna upgrade it in a long period of time
