If you get a small pour cup like an old creamer cup like for coffee or tea or a disposable cup and use that to pour the wax at an angle over the top of the cheese you will get that smooth finish you are looking for without the brush marks

Hi Crystal, love your family videos. Waxing cheeses idea for you. Wearing dishwashing gloves use a shallow ladle or large spoon to pour over hot wax and you won't have brush marks.
Crystal you are one awesome woman with all that you do. I love watching all your videos they are so educational and one day I may get up enough nerve to try making some cheese or maybe that cheesecake that looked so yummy but I suck as a cook. I would also like to one day to visit you at the farm to watch you working with the goats especially when they would be close to having their babies I should put it on my bucket list❤️ Hope you and your family have a wonderful week and you finally get some much needed rain Love you all❤️❤️❤️

Good morning BCD...hope all is well with you all. One dot means your ok. Two dogs means; I've fallen and can't get up... All kidding aside... Hope all is well.
You are making cheese much like I did many years ago with our cows milk. Do you sell cheese? I sure would love to have one of those small wheels. My husband loved homemade cheese with homemade bacon on homemade bread! He’s been gone for quite a while now but that’s one of the things I most remember.
I LOVE your videos and thank you so much for sharing your wealth of goat wisdom on the inter webs for us ❤️ Do you have one about how you got into goats, when you started really building your herd and what your approach was? We are about a year and a half in with our NDG and we are crazy about them! Even my husband! 😆 At first I wasn’t sure about showing ours, but now I can’t wait to next year 😍 I just want to do right by the breed- there’s so much to learn but I love it.
Thank you for sharin' how you wax your cheese, it is very interesting and helpful. I'm with you on wantin' blue wax, blue(for me) is my favorite color. :)
Hey GF, I have a suggestion, have you thought about using waxed floss to make a type of hanger so you can dip your cheese in one step and then cut the string sealing the string with a few strokes of the brush. It’s a thought. You may have tried it. 😊
Crystal..... I want to be like you when I grow up and I’m almost 50 lol. Working on my homestead but taking over my folks property isn’t as easy when they have a different mind set on doing things plus I’m in Hawaii which is a totally different environment than where you’re at! Know any goat experts here in the Pacific?
mrs. Crystal could you please make some more cooking videos and some videos and cheese videos I love watching them maybe more than one a week if you can 😉
Love your videos! Maybe try taking two turkey forks to the middle of each side and do your dip technique. The holes from the forks would then be sealed when you do the side spin technique. Thanks so much! ❤️ 🐐
Have you thought of sticking knives or forks into the sides and dipping in the wax?? Can you use Gulf Canning Wax on cheeses it is a kind of clear wax. I use that in my dipping chocolate candies. I'd love to live near you!! I want some cheese and homemade soaps.
Your cheese is beautiful! Thank you for this video! I used to have milk goats and my chees never turned out that pretty. I've done better with sheep milk. You might want to try a colby recipe which has you "wash" the curds (you really just remove some of the whey and add cold water) before pressing them.
I always learn so much from watching your channel. Maybe you could try pouring the wax on the cheese while holding it of course you will have to wear gloves so you don’t burn yourself 😊 God Bless you and your family and stay safe Crystal
My friend gets white cheese wax and uses food colouring to change the colour 😁 btw I bought everything to make cheese, just need to find some milk from a farm and I’m set for the cheese making game 🙌🏼
What if you got an old fashioned round crock pot to melt the wax in. Then get a sling perhaps one of the silicone ones they make for the Instant Pots. Then you could dip the cheese and hang it to dry. You would have to move the sling around a bit but it might work and the crock pot can usually be picked up in a thrift store. Just a thought also the crock pot would have a lid that you could use to keep stuff out. Looks awesome. God bless.
You can get the cheese the homemade Dipper do you make out of specialist in the Dollar Tree just took a look at up a cow method with the milk and you'll see what I'm talking about they just use two spatulas to dip it in but just bachelor's or upright right and they take two and hold next to it does dip dip dip you can make one
An exacto knife or a paint scraper does a really good job of getting wax off of stuff. I had a friend who loves playing with wax and it was all over her floor. We were able to get it off fairly quickly.
Crystal your just awesome in everything you do for those of us that watch you all the time,if I owned a credit card I would order a shirt a sweatshirt etc.. have you ever thought about creating shirts with some of your favorite goats like lodi,etc... I sure wish they made blue wax for you, it would represent your farm well. Maybe contact the manufacturer of the coloured wax to see if it is even made.
Not really a cheese question but what do you use when you freeze the milk? Very useful size cubes, looks like big ice cube trays but a bit too big Could you use some natural food colouring in the wax (does it come in a neutral colour) to get blue?
Blue Cactus Dairy Goats ahhh camera angle the cubes look big! I’m in the process of buying somewhere I can have goats. It’s a shame I’m in Canada, I love the look of your herd.
Have you ever made mozzarella I have seen mozzarella made from goat milk and I’ve been told that it’s really good. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I have like found your videos and I’m working my way backwards through them
This might be a dumb question, so when you go to eat the cheese, do you peel the wax off? Is the wax just like a "protector", while it curing, or whatever its doing while sitting on the shelf? I never seen wax on a cheese before, so I'm just wondering.
Thank you so much!! Really enjoyed & learning from you!! Always learning something new from y’all!! Love it & Love your channel!!! What kind of wax is it called?? Is is regular paraffin wax or something special just for waxing cheeses??💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
A question. If a person was uber-frugal when you slice the finished cheese could you peel off the wax (and clean off any stuck on cheese) and toss it in your wax pot to reuse it? Or if not used on future cheeses maybe use it to wax coat items around the farm that might need coated?

For blue wax just add blue food coloring to white wax.
It won't mix well if the food coloring is water based. A gel might work since its less water.

How much milk does it take to make one of these? Do you sell cheese?
what about a sponge 🧽 roller

So I’m guessing that the wax keep the cheese fresh longer.
