GeeOh that’s why you can tell Me that. Cause you a casual. Takes knowledge to keep a debate goin. You didn’t even consider the evolution of sport and the fact that athletes get better as eras pass by. Like you really think jack dempsey has a chance against iron mike? No way. Not a chance. That’s why Ali was a little ahead of his time. Cause he was better than most. But he couldn’t outbox Frazier or foreman, and he knew that. Resumes from back then can be comparable than resumes of today. You just gotta compare it accordingly. Look at the quality of fighters they fought. How many losses compared to wins the fighters they fought had. All that stuff.
SALVADOR SANCHEZ WAS AND STILL IS MY FAVORITE BOXER. I WAS SADDEN THE DAY HE PASSED. BUT HIS SPIRIT LIVES ON AND MANY TRUE BOXING FANS WILL CHERISH HIS STYLE OF BOXING
it was said that his heartbeat returned to normal within the one minute break between rounds. wilfredo gomez was an undefeated power puncher when he fought sanchez and salvador made him look clumsy and slow. i remember that fight well.
That is a fact his plusle was taken in sparring with faster fierce fighters he had control over his emotions/cardio like never seen before I was in mexico at the time this I spoke with managers ,sparring partners
This was one of the most loved boxers in Mexico ever, even international boxers feel the lost of Salvador Sanchez, Thanks for this video you always make great studies of their techniques.
@Im Eiichiro Oda my n***a Dude was underrated, underpromoted mostly because, the weightclass he competed is usually ignored by fans as they don't look big enough or freaky enough.
He is a family favorite. Especially my Dad. We appreciate the sport. Have been following the sweet science since my Dad introduced boxing to us as kids. I'm 48 now. Thank you for highlighting Salvador Sanchez. His waist movement was unreal. I miss the 80's. It was a great time for boxing fans. God bless everyone in Jesus Christ.
I'm 47 now and my dad introduced me to Boxing in the early 80s. The first big fight I watched was Holmes Vs Cooney. It was a good fight. I remember my dad telling me about Salvador dying young. I always read about how great he was. I'm glad this channel covered him.
Best conditioned fighter I’ve ever seen. If he was tired, you never knew. He always had the same look on his face. Never breathed out of his mouth. And he was absolutely lights out off the ropes
I've only heard of Sanchez in passing but this was a great video. This dude was unorthodox in the best way possible. I do more kickboxing but really appreciated how he rolled with the punches and used that to help load up his own blows. It's something I like to do in my own sparring matches. Looks like he's a good one to learn from on how to do that better.
No one can ever over do him especially in your area. Besides, he had it in his mexican blood. A real warrior, something new generation mexicans can't even understand.
I like all that you said but not mentioning the footwork isn't possible to roll with the punches, his positioning from both sides to roll with the punches created angles is because of his skills in moving his feet. In kicking boxing I can see how you benefit from this video.
One of the great legends. My old man loved him and Carlos Monzone, he still raves about His Fight with Azumah Nelson. It’s a shame he passed in a car crash
My father and I love watching boxing highlights. A few years back he told me about Salvador "Sal" Sanchez. Thank you for making this video, I will have to show it to my father.
Salvador Sanchez was one of a kind Boxer, he's Boxing skills were so unic that he made the other boxers look so slow and unskill, he fought all 15 rounds like if it was the first round !!!
He has been a boxing legend in Mexico, my grandpa is a huge boxing fan and he would always talk about Sal Sanchez and his unfortunate death! I had never seen his fights till now, and wow what a great boxer he was, grandpa who is blind now never lied to me!
Sanchez was so young and yet was the total package in the ring. A defensive dynamo with power in his hands and genius level fight IQ. It's sad that he didn't live long enough for the world to see him blossom as a fighter. R.I.P Fists of Elegance
One of the greatest featherweights ever. Superb defense combined with the ability to punch accurately from almost any angle. His fight against Nelson was a classic.
My prayers have been answered! Thank you so much. I hope this video will enlighten many of Salvador Sanchez. Truly a master of the sweet science and a magnificent breakdown.
Thanks for doing one of my favorite fighter of all time. He had everything in his arsenal. He can box your ears off, or bang it out if he wanted. What a genius this man was.
I watched a couple of those fights when they happened and always marveled that he always kept his mouth closed, never gasping for air...wonder fighter.
Excellent breakdown of a great fighter. I remember when he beat the crap out of my hero Wilfred Gomez and he made it look so easy. What a great talent and would have surely have had a long successful career if not for his untimely death. Keep the videos coming, very well presented.
Thank you so much, The Modern Day Martial Artist for this awesome video upload. Undoubtedly one of most elegant fighters of all time. Gracefully fluid in his movements and devastatingly vicious in his attack, he was at once a prince and a beast...
I came here after roy Jones named him 3rd greatest ever after Ali and Ray Robinson. That's some epic company. I see what Roy was talking about. His style does remind me of Sugar Ray too.
I mixed this into my kickboxing last night..... game changer. I love this channel because it's not really a coach teaching technique... it's more of a coach going through game film with you. Give you a foundation so you can mold it into your own thing. Love this channel!
Thank you so much for posting this! I remember him when I was young. Everybody paid attention to the heavyweights back then.. I always though Salvador was a master boxer.
When he beat Danny Lopez it broke my heart. It wasn't until his later bouts that I could appreciate just how good he was. I was very saddened when he was killed. He was so young and so very talented. I've heard that he was a very good person, too. So sad.
Salvador Sanchez was a true genius and boxing icon. He had the heart of a champion. One of the greatest of all time. Sadly he died so young and tragically. RIP.
Man that guy is amazing! He simply has the rhythm and movement in sync together for great defense followed up with immediate offense. A superb boxer indeed
Good analysis. Check out his bout against Roberto Castanon, one of the few to frustrate Sanchez. The dipping overhand right didn't work as well against the shorter Castanon, who usually didn't take the bait. But as always, Sanchez methodically adjusted and found ways to pick apart any opponent.

Never spoke in his corner, he never opened his mouth at any time during his whole career, he was never hurt, never showed emotion, up on his toes from round 1 to 15, never stopped punching, he is the best of all time in any weight division. There never be another fighter like him. Only 23 with his best years ahead of him be gone. This guy came out the womb with boxing gloves on. Roy jones and Toney said he is best there has ever been. Me that.
@@Viibrantspace Ali did outbox both Frazier and Foreman i can't remember any exchanges where Big George got the better of him
Wonderful analysis. For me, despite his terrible death, Sal's still in the top 10 boxers, of any weight, of all time.
SALVADOR SANCHEZ WAS AND STILL IS MY FAVORITE BOXER. I WAS SADDEN THE DAY HE PASSED. BUT HIS SPIRIT LIVES ON AND MANY TRUE BOXING FANS WILL CHERISH HIS STYLE OF BOXING
This guy was supremely talented.
it was said that his heartbeat returned to normal within the one minute break between rounds. wilfredo gomez was an undefeated power puncher when he fought sanchez and salvador made him look clumsy and slow. i remember that fight well.
I think the main reason Mexican boxers have such great cardio is because they train at high elevations
Now that's a new one, you mean that he
can normalize his heartbeat at will?
That is a fact his plusle was taken in sparring with faster fierce fighters he had control over his emotions/cardio like never seen before I was in mexico at the time this I spoke with managers ,sparring partners
@@pedrol.grande3048 no that hes got a good breathing technique and superhuman lungs from all those 8mile runs daily.
In my opinion the Goat Mexican boxer and top 10 ever.
@benicecunt o.k. ok count, that's beyond Goat...Sanya status or prime, if you know what I mean.
Agree
yep..many of us think the same here in México
Here in Mexico A LOT of boxing fans think the same. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@benicecunt o.k. hahah just to make sure we get the point. Lol
He was a masterful boxer and a class act. It was a pleasure watching him do his thing in the boxing ring.
The better the fighter was the better he was. I was lucky to see his fights. Greatest pound for pound, real class, make Mexico proud.
That opening line sounds like a Kamala Harris line! lol!
This was one of the most loved boxers in Mexico ever, even international boxers feel the lost of Salvador Sanchez, Thanks for this video you always make great studies of their techniques.
Look at his face, he NEVER looks tired or breathing through mouth. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Definitely a different kind of Mexican fighter.
I agree, even among the greatest of Mexico, he stands out.
@Im Eiichiro Oda my n***a Ricardo Lopez was undefeated all his life both as amateur as well as pro.
@Im Eiichiro Oda my n***a Dude was underrated, underpromoted mostly because, the weightclass he competed is usually ignored by fans as they don't look big enough or freaky enough.
Ricardo Lopez is underrated. His style is really good. He can stick and move and fight close range.
You never heard of el Ricardo el Finito Lopez then, undefeated at pro and amateur, never saw another fighter like him.
One of the greatest technical boxers of all time. The speed of Camacho without the bad habits, a heart like Marciano.
You are right.
80s was a great decade for boxing fans:
Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, Durán, Chávez, Sánchez and many more.
Thanks brother for the Blessings and God Bless you and your family too and REMEMBER JESUS LOVES YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TOO EVERYONE 🙏☝️✝️
Been waiting for a salvador sanchez breakdown. My fav fighter of all time
He fights so calm and concentrated. Like a tachtical master
The greatest to ever step in the ring. If not for his death, he would have become the greatest boxer of all time period.
I believe it.. 👍
My old man loved him and Carlos Monzone, he still raves about His
Fight with Azumah Nelson. It’s a shame he passed in a car crash
Mike Faz NYC he died in a car accident
Thel 'Vadam i know, I was thinking of Rocky Marciano for
Some reason, either way , Sanchez was incredible
My father and I love watching boxing highlights. A few years back he told me about Salvador "Sal" Sanchez. Thank you for making this video, I will have to show it to my father.
Salvador Sanchez was one of a kind Boxer, he's Boxing skills were so unic that he made the other boxers look so slow and unskill, he fought all 15 rounds like if it was the first round !!!
one of the smoothest boxer/punchers ever...
Possibly the greatest Mexican fighter ever!
One of my personal favorites.
After Julio cesar chavez
Yes I'm with you
@@josaphatbetanzos8835 murió muy temprano, si no hubiera muerto, Chávez fuera el segundo.
YES ABOUT TIME PEOPLE HEAR ABOUT THIS GREAT LEGEND OF MEXICO!!
He has been a boxing legend in Mexico, my grandpa is a huge boxing fan and he would always talk about Sal Sanchez and his unfortunate death! I had never seen his fights till now, and wow what a great boxer he was, grandpa who is blind now never lied to me!
He was well known for his patience and accuracy in the ring as well.
I’ve never clicked on a video so quick before in my life !🥊🇲🇽
You and me both !
Me 3 lol
Loved this guy back in the day.
Boxing's golden age
Everyone should watch the Sanchez vs Nelson fight. It was a nonstop 14 round WAR
sure it was
Just look at the composure on his face. Rest in peace, legend.
He was a Skilled,Natural Fighter!
Wow such a beautiful style of fighting. My dad has some Salvador Sanchez DVDs of his great fights lying around. I should dig em up
This guy is the real deal! Glad you made a video on Sánchez.
I had never heard of Sanchez before now. He was incredible. Once again, thank you MMArtist.
Sal SÁNCHEZ the king of the mexican boxing
Great analysis. One of the best and controlled boxers ever, even at 23. We definitely lost a master in his untimely death.
I watched a couple of those fights when they happened and always marveled that he always kept his mouth closed, never gasping for air...wonder fighter.
Just a pure and gifted natural fighter. It’s a joy just to watch him work the ring, amazing. Sad he passed so young...
I've never heard of this man, but wow he looked amazing. It's sad that he passed away so young.
My boxing coach is from Tijuana, Mexico and in his opinion the greatest Mexican boxer 🇲🇽 of all time is the great Salvador Sanchez (R.I.P.). I shared this excellent video with my coach. Thank you ALWAYS. 😎🔥🥇
🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️
Undoubtedly one of most elegant fighters of all time. Gracefully fluid in his movements and devastatingly vicious in his attack, he was at once a prince and a beast...
Sanchez had insane stamina. He could be in the 15th looking like he was in the 6th
One of the best ever. His fight with Azuma Nelson was amazing.
Nice breakdown. Thank you!
He looks like Bruce Lee's Boxing brother!
I've always said, Sanchez is "The Mexican Bruce Lee."
Salvador just KO the greatest African Boxer of all times (Azuma Nelson) and the greatest Puerto Rican boxer of all times (Wilfredo Gomez)
timephire never actually thought of that comparison lol so accurate
Bruce Lee is movie carácter with no real fights,Salvador Sanchez was a real fighter, fighting real fights..there’s no comparison.
@@jasari1098 yep
Thank you so much for posting this! I remember him when I was young. Everybody paid attention to the heavyweights back then.. I always though Salvador was a master boxer.
When he beat Danny Lopez it broke my heart. It wasn't until his later bouts that I could appreciate just how good he was. I was very saddened when he was killed. He was so young and so very talented. I've heard that he was a very good person, too. So sad.
I was a fan of Lil Red Lopez. That was a great fight. An The Nelson fight was war!
Stepping in the ring and beating an opponent with brute force is one thing, but to get in the ring and beat an opponent with technique is world class!
Salvador Sanchez was a true genius and boxing icon. He had the heart of a champion. One of the greatest of all time. Sadly he died so young and tragically. RIP.
He was already all time great by 23 he could’ve had infinite possibilities he would be top 10 atg
Sanchez knew what to do and how to do it! One of my all-time favorites.
I really wonder who trained him and how he was so naturally talented. He was born for this.
The style of Salvador Sánchez was colorful, precise and deadly beautiful
Man that guy is amazing!
He simply has the rhythm and movement in sync together for great defense followed up with immediate offense.
A superb boxer indeed
Amazing finally the breakdown of the legendary Sanchez!!!
@We all die Anyway of course like undefeated at amateur and pro Ricardo el Finito Lopez. Theres even a Japanese cartoon character about him.
@We all die Anyway I'm not sure man Finito's a legend
Good analysis. Check out his bout against Roberto Castanon, one of the few to frustrate Sanchez. The dipping overhand right didn't work as well against the shorter Castanon, who usually didn't take the bait. But as always, Sanchez methodically adjusted and found ways to pick apart any opponent.

Amazing boxer. I believe better than Julio César Chávez..
boxing skills ye but jcc prime stamina and jaw are irreal man .... they are the the best mexicans fighters of all time
Prime Chavez eats him up in the later rounds, per Ruben Castillo who fought them both.
@@sergiocelis8347 I think Castillo got his ass destroyed by both, it doesn't give him the better judgment, but every Mexican boxer and fan dream of that fight
Tallldarkand Handsome Agreed
Finito was also a legend as well. We are filled with such great warriors. Us Mexicans in General ate a warrior race and it proves in combat sports
Sad he died so young he was a legend
Never spoke in his corner, he never opened his mouth at any time during his whole career, he was never hurt, never showed emotion, up on his toes from round 1 to 15, never stopped punching, he is the best of all time in any weight division. There never be another fighter like him. Only 23 with his best years ahead of him be gone. This guy came out the womb with boxing gloves on. Roy jones and Toney said he is best there has ever been. Just like Maradona one comes along that was better than all before him and better than all the rest that follow.
