Tama star is really the pinnacle of drums. Tama star Hardware and Tama star kits are truly the best. I am perfectly happy with my Tama starclassic BB hyperdrive kit, absolutely love my kit, paid 1800 for a 5 piece in the exact sizes and finish I wanted shipped straight from the Tama warehouse with the updated hardware features brought down from the star drums. Can’t beat that price. The saying you get what you pay for isn’t always true in this case, but if I ever have enough money, I want a star kit one day, either the walnut or bubinga.
The Star's along with the Sonor SQ2's are the best of the best in my personal opinion. I'm very confused as to why he put PS4's on that kit. He could have played a kit under that and got roughly the same sound.
I might have to go for that 2nd Bass Drum kicker! Looks good and gives dimension to other possibilities. Great drumming!!! Love the sound!!! I have a StarClassic and I'm thinking about expanding it.
They DO sound amazing! Off topic of the drums, but what heads are those, on your FTs? They look like there's a internal floating ring, under the batters. Thanks!
They look to be Remo Powerstroke 4 clears (they also come in coated). Similar spec as an Emperor (2-ply, 7mil per ply), but with an added 3mil inlay ring.
Got my new 8 piece star walnut Satin Charcoal Japanese Sen from Japan, but I wish it had metal hoops for the bass because the stain job has two unstained places that look like where fingers held it, the dealer agreed its a problem, but tama stuck on their high horse says its normal. The drums are beautiful, the one bass hoop finish sucks. So much money for the set and got stuck with an ugly bass hoop.
Tama Star Walnut is not only one of the best sounding kits I've ever played but they are an incredible value as well.

Man you pretty much pay for looks these look amazing
Shells made in Japan, but you get corroded Chinese hardware. Might as well just get a Starclassic or a cheaper Chinese set.
Omg, why is the music so loud and his voice so quiet? To whoever did the volume balance of the audio track: Very bad job!
