Thank You! Just the video I needed! I was getting frustrated of just sourcing and listing and very few sales trickling in. Kept lowering my price to try and make them sell. Still wasn't selling. Now I know to list competitively and be patient. Thank you!
Also Check the sale through rate so you can know how many similar items have sold in 60 days. If it has more Sold listings, than active listings it SHOULD sell within 2 months. Its Patience and its Math.
*MyOnlineSelling. Com* was one of the first expenses I made for my new business and it turned out to be a good decision. Canadian dropshipping is not as big as I hoped but with suggestions and reliable information, this site pointed me in the right direction to success.
I'm fortunate in that I sell clothing in the majority of my store and yet I still have a sell through somewhere north of 15%. I'll just consider myself blessed, because I hear that traditionally, clothing is somewhere around 5%. I'll take it. No complaints here. 2019 was my first year and I had an exponential learning growth through the year and I can now say I'm in pure profits. Everything currently listed in my store, and not (death piles), has been paid for. Equipment included. I agree completely with Ryan. It's all about building a happy medium. I have some clothes that takes months to sell, but then others that sell a couple hours/days after I list them. Just part of it. Really having a lot of fun with this. It's the journey, not the destination.
What do you mean by "15% sell-through rate"? There seems to be so many different ways people use the term "sell-through rate". So I never really know what they mean.
@@SteveFrenchWoodNStuff Sell through is calculated by how many sales you have, for a given period, relative to your inventory position. So, say I've been sitting around 350 in my store, I've had around 46 sales so far this month. Almost to 53, but the month isn't finished yet and there are days when I pop off 4-5 sales. Just depends. Also, coming off a holiday season frenzy and people are calming down now, and even then I'm still hitting 15%. I'll take it.
By allowing offers, I feel most of my items have a short turn around time. In the last 3 weeks have sold 9 items and profited over $315. Not bad for a one gal show done part-time from home. Have taken to heart a ton of your suggestions and ideas and appreciate your You Tube videos!
Thanks for the video. I think its just when people are looking and what they look for and how many items are in that category. I go back and check all that I have for sale on occasion just to see if I need to change the listing to sell better. Granted I don't have near what you all have but I have had things sell 8 months later. I always enjoy your videos.
I am brand new to reselling, did my first shop this weekend. Thank you so much for all the information you share, it has helped me prepare for success.
I have some good pieces, ebay always suggests on lowering the price, I have to stand my ground and not let it go too cheap, even if I have to wait it out.
Best bet otherwise you are losing money on items. I sold jackets that were bulky and cost a ton to ship on eBay suggested price and pretty much broke even. Had to wait forever and jump through hoops just to get my money from eBay to PayPal. It's been slow going getting back into eBay. Stand your ground wait it out. They don't charge you for listing
Here's for you newbies on ebay...Before listing an item check what other sellers sold it for. Just go to "Advanced" (it's on the far right of the search bar) when looking at an exact or similar item. Then click "Sold Listings" then click "Search", to see what the item is selling for.

Another great video. Thats one of the things a lot of folks don't understand. Unfortunately for me I don't have the space to store items for over 30 days. If I held items longer my inventory would become stale really fast.
Good advice because items do sit for a while, but it's a numbers game! The more you list the more you will sell! I don't mind sitting on a bunch of items, and when they sell they sell! I also crosspost to three platforms as well, and manually delete when an item sells on one of them! It does take a bit longer to list on 3 platforms. A great software out there is ListPerfectly and you can crosspost your items to 10 different platforms! I am not ready to move to this software yet! Thanks Ryan for another great video! Have a great week! Joe Bee from Canada! PS. Back to shipping and listing!!!lol

Good advice also is if you're stuff doesn't move that fast don't panic and start discounting it right off people like to browse and it may take them awhile to pull the trigger especially if it's a higher end item.
I'm getting back into reselling but mainly trainers and sportswear stuff.. I'm heading for Facebook and shpock (England's craigslist).. this sort of video will help me hang on to stuff for a while instead of getting confused because they don't sell after 2 weeks haha

I believe what people actually want to know if how fast an item will sell before you spend the money out at a thrift store or garage sale. The best way to do this is to compare the number of items currently listed of what you want to sell vs. the number of items that have actually sold. The Sold comps go back the past 90 days. The formula you want to use is: Number of items listed for sale Divided by Number of item Sold. Then Multiply that number by 90 days. The reason yours sold so fast is because your price was under average market value plus you have a great seller rating. Gitman Bros Plaid shirt Example Number listed used - 419 Number sold used - 165 419/165 = 2.54 Multiplied by 90 days = 228.6 days to sell on average This fomual will help fellow resellers source high turnover items and won't have their money tied up in dead inventory.

I recently bought a 10ft x 5ft white background on ebay and its terribly cheap with creases in the material and super thin. Also, what type of lamps are you using for nice shadow free pictures? This is how 1,000% of "what sold" videos should be like. Most honestly don't care how much someone made as much because that doesn't line their own pockets. It's how long something sits for that matters to most.
Is there a way to view how long it took for item to sell in sales report in ebay? I can only see this by looking at individually sold items. Not very efficient if this is this only way. Thank you!
Not sure if there is in selling reports but I did find an app called Completely (not affiliated as it costs a one time fee of $4 on the app store) but it pulls eBay data and gives you some nice information such as a one stop look at your ASP (average sale price) and also your Average Sell Time which is cumulative and ongoing. Not sure if that helps but its a cool app that allow you to not only do this for your account but you can also pull other sellers accounts in which allows you to see their real time sells and data so you can compare. Faster than looking for this information on the eBay app :)
Our average time to sell a clothing item is 2-3 months. Some sell in the first month. Some even sell in less than an hour. On the other side there are some that go over a year. A few never sell at any price. Sometimes, what appears to be a great find, with everything going for it, can have some difficulty in selling.
thanks for sharing this info :) i think I'll go back to free shipping again as i sold items faster and for some reason if you have postage on your item and the best offer on they seem to take off the shipping say like a game of thrones figure for £10 pluse £3 postage and they give you an offer of £7 for the figure so ur losing money its kind of annoying im not sure why this happens because my prices are not dear
My all time fastest sale was 10 minutes! Worst was over 2 years. The biggest issue I find is people who only dabble in reselling and don't have the patience. They tend to panic and sell a item for for no profit or actually lose money. The worst part of that is their incompetence tanks the value of that item for months or even years for other sellers.
I have some hard goods, glass items, that has been listed "forever"! One sold over the weekend. Seems the real collectibles take longer unless you are willing to drastically cut the price. Since I am into these items for a larger cost ... I will wait for the right buyer I guess.
Awesome video. I wished we had videos like this to learn from. Thank you for your hard work bring us this content. Me and my wife learn a lot from you all. Our sale at finally getting going with lots of hard work. Been selling on online for about a year. I have been vlogging our journey as full time resellers. We have grown so much. And also we have a fea market store. Thank you guys.
I wonder if you can post something on eBay to sell them once the buyer order it and pay, the seller orders the item from Amazon and send it to their address. Can you do that?
Hey Ryan, great video! Question for you on the items that sold. I see the items listed have the price and with it "or best offer". Are the items that you are selling in this video selling for list price or lower than list price because it says "or best offer? I would imagine that a listing that has "or best offer" buyers would try to get the item for cheaper since the item has the option "or best offer" vs just listing the item for a certain price. Can you explain? Thanks
Set up an Ebay account, a Paypal account, and some basic shipping supplies. With coins you may want some smaller padded bubble mailers. Search RUclips for how to get started, Ryan has made some really good ones. But those are the essentials to get it going. Then I would research some of the coins you have and get any comps. Check out those listings and see how they worded everything, price strategy etc. Good luck!
I just started reselling about a week ago. I have 27 items listed currently and sold 5 others. Should I just keep buying inventory and things will start to pick up in about 2 months?
Hi Jaoix, yes keep buying inventory. It will start out slow with sporadic sales, but your sales will increase overtime. Depending on what you are selling, and if you are consistently adding inventory, 2 months is a good mark. I would say at my 2 month mark sales started to pick up.
Right on time! Exactly what I needed to hear. I was almost ready to give up. Thank you!
Hmm I was way off, if it hasn’t sold in 45 mins I’m cutting prices lol. I’m so bad at this 😂

The_Outlaw_Hustler hard to say, we do that weekly on like 50-100 items.
Always so helpful, thank you. I like how the listing pictures were swiping through while you talked about the item, nice work.

Mixture of both is best, like I said in this video, 80% fast 20% long tail is what works for us
And if you're new and have limited number of listings, do you pull a listing after a time if it isn't sold?

I believe what people actually want to know if how fast an item will sell before you spend the money out at a thrift store or garage sale.
The best way to do this is to compare the number of items currently listed of what you want to sell vs. the number of items that have actually sold. The Sold comps go back the past 90 days.
The formula you want to use is:
Number of items listed for sale Divided by Number of item Sold. Then Multiply that number by 90 days. This will give you an average number of days for your item to sell if you price it competitively
Take your Asics Gel Noosa Tri 11 for example
Currently listed used women's Gel Noosa Tri 11 - 54
Sold used Women's Gel Noosa Tri 11 in past 90 Days - 37
54/37 = 1.46 Multiplied by 90 days = 131.4
This means that if you list these shoes at a competitive price it will take an average of 131.4 Days to sell.
The reason yours sold so fast is because your price was under average market value plus you have a great seller rating.
Gitman Bros Plaid shirt Example
Number listed used - 419
Number sold used - 165
419/165 = 2.54 Multiplied by 90 days = 228.6 days to sell on average
This fomual will help fellow resellers source high turnover items and won't have their money tied up in dead inventory.
Thank you for this comment!

Good content. Just started not Ebay. Leaning now.
You made me feel good! Thanks guys! :)
How do you know if your item will sell
Isn’t this a good way to start e commerce?
Our average time to sell a clothing item is 2-3 months. Some sell in the first month. Some even sell in less than an hour. On the other side there are some that go over a year. A few never sell at any price. Sometimes, what appears to be a great find, with everything going for it, can have some difficulty in selling.
How am I going to get a white back ground?
thank you for sharing. Crazy helpful.
thanks for sharing this info :) i think I'll go back to free shipping again as i sold items faster and for some reason if you have postage on your item and the best offer on they seem to take off the shipping say like a game of thrones figure for £10 pluse £3 postage and they give you an offer of £7 for the figure so ur losing money its kind of annoying im not sure why this happens because my prices are not dear
What do you think of ending prices in rather .99 or .97 or .95
Hey Ryan what advice do you have on when to offer FREE SHIPPING vs not?
We do free shipping 99% of the time
Thanks for the cool info. How do you fill about the Bradenton area??
It can be good :)
Can you explain free returns? Is that risky? Have you had problems with it? Do you charge a restocking fee? Thanks
Patricia Quackenbush nope, eBay doesn’t allow restocking fees anymore. Our return rate stayed the same when we switched, under 4%
Does free returns mean the sellers lays the cost?
Molly F yes
My all time fastest sale was 10 minutes! Worst was over 2 years. The biggest issue I find is people who only dabble in reselling and don't have the patience. They tend to panic and sell a item for for no profit or actually lose money. The worst part of that is their incompetence tanks the value of that item for months or even years for other sellers.
Hmmm....would this also qualify as being a stock market trader?
Hi Ryan, where do you measure to get the length of a shirt?
Booji Boy top of collar down
RALLI ROOTS Thank You!!
Thanks
Stacey and Travis some sell for best offer some sell for full price. We put best offer on most of our items I’d say 60% sell for full price
I may have asked this already, but how often do you end a listing and sell similar?
Calvin Chau once a week, probably 50+ items a week
@@RALLIROOTS man, you guys hustle hard lol. Thanks for another great video!
Hi this is John in Vermont. I want to sell some coins but don't know how to get on eBay. What do I need to get started?
Set up an Ebay account, a Paypal account, and some basic shipping supplies. With coins you may want some smaller padded bubble mailers. Search RUclips for how to get started, Ryan has made some really good ones. But those are the essentials to get it going. Then I would research some of the coins you have and get any comps. Check out those listings and see how they worded everything, price strategy etc. Good luck!
Thanks a bunch! This really helped us. Can we see your dog a little more in the videos? It's a cutie!
Awesome video!
Hi......How do you keep track OR know how many days items are listed in your inventory 🤓🤓🤓
we use the custom sku field on ebay and we have a storage system at our warehouse. We've covered it in a few past vids
I’m selling a collectible toy car, some ty collectibles and some books. How long will this take to sell?
