Tenere 700 - Fuel Tank Range Tested!

- For a while now I have wanted to know what kind of realistic fuel range I should expect from the tank of the T7 while riding on the road.
So I filled the tank and took a Jerry can with me and ran the bike until it stops!
Camera - GoPro Hero7 Black
Alright.
Real consumer advise!! Right there. Great vid, doing it for the people!
Excellent video ,I've just bought the t7 in the same colour, what a fantastic bike it is 😁
Great real-world test. Thinking of a GSA replacement and have got used to monster range not that I’ve ever actually needed it until the fuel “crisis” recently.
I liked the 🐑! Well done, mate. Thanks!
I have always used the trip meter on my motorcycles to gauge my fuel, ever since I started riding. I always do this test but I think you got it covered sacrificial science thanks lol
Good video!
Thank you you have saved me the effort of doing the same
Thanks for doing this
Thanks, mate, that was useful.
Great Vid - when you do the next Q&A session I would love to know about what helmet you use along with your camera and set up?
Scott Murphy
Thanks for this. The one thing that I was worrying about was tank range on this bike as I like doing the tet and wouldn’t want to be stuck in the middle of no where. My old transalp manages about 240 miles on a 20 litre tank so it shows that this modern engine goes for longer for less……… yet fuel is going up 🤔 but I’m not going to get political. Thanks for this vid again this maybe my future bike if we are ever allowed to travel abroad again.
great video, subscribed. I have 2019 Street Triple R but selling it to slow things down in life, getting Tenere in Black hopefuly
GREAT VIDEO!!!😊 Glad to hear you FFFFFing n JEffing!!!!😉😉😉😉😉 we missed it in your countryside walk!!!!😂😂😂 funny tho during lockdown we have enjoyed walking rather than aimlessly riding the bike!!! We like to travel across Spain etc!!! Love ya❤️ Karin n Nic xxx
Thank you so much!! I've been dying to get back out on the bike and Im glad somebody enjoys the effin & jeffin!
More videos coming soon, I promise!
That was an unexpectedly engrossing video! 😂
Thanks for the info
Great, saves me doing this to find out.
Awesome... that matched my own (unplanned) testing! I got 105km (62 miles) on reserve by riding as conservatively as possible. I told people I thought 75km on reserve (45 miles) was going to be normal.
105 kms = 65+ miles
@@gonefishn6024 close enough
Nice!
People atleast give this man a thumbs up
Good to know! Then i could go for much longer before i fill it up :-) Thanks!
thank you
Thanks
Awesome test man! I was just looking for this kind of real world info.
I’m curious, is half nine 0830 or 0930? Thanks
Thank you! I meant to say 8:30 but I said 9:30 in the video!🤣 If you watch for when I reset the trip at the start of the video you can see the clock on the dash 👍
Loved the vid.. next video, how far will a T700 go without engine oil
Hahahaha I'd try this if somebody has a spare engine 😅
Good to know.
You missed the best road ... "the Strines" is awesome. The Superfortress crash site is off to the left of where you actually mentioned it while passing all the parked cars, you can walk to it along the Pennine way, but it's not really visible from the main path, lots of wreckage still up there though. There are also 2 x Sabres a bit further along on the right hand side, that clipped Kinder Scout and crashed behind it, only engines and a few fuselage parts there though, and take some finding !
I could make a list as long as my arm of good roads to ride up there!
Ahaa that's spooky as I've never been to it before! Il have to take the car up for a couple of days and do a whistle stop tour of the ones I can find!
240miles. Not bad. Barely let mine get less than half a tank so far. But good to know.
Which side is the petcock on ? If you tip it on that side to the ground, could you get some more from the other side of the tank ???
I got 24 miles on reserve today filled up and it would only take 3.1 gal? Tank holds 4.2?? So should get 75-85 miles on reserve(maybe) seems like the first bar and last bar = 2gal and 1/2gal for the 4 bars in middle?
With a 16t front sprocket range can be pushed over 400km
How is she with rust?
Mine is only weeks old, but I live in Cornwall where salty air is a serious issue.
Heard spokes go very quick, and your brake discs.
I've had mine since 2019 and it hasnt had an issue with rust! I do take care of it the best I can and take the time to clean the spokes off when I can! My front disks have had the paint flake off the disk carrier but im not to bothered as they will end up being replaced anyway!
Jees, I only get about 130 miles before it hit reserve. Need to calm down on the braaaaaps
Interesting, cheers for doing that. But why on earth didn't you put the jerry can on the rack ?
I ask myself this daily! 😂
@@RegularJon Things we do eh :)
Actual fuel consumption of tenere 700?
whats the safest u think it can do before u gas up? hard riding. think 220miles can do it?
No more than 150 miles unless you want to push the bike to the next garage.
Bike will run out around 160miles so be warned.
You can't use all the fuel in the tank, only 13.76 are usable.
@@JohnSmith-ef8nr already did past 160miles. im at 179miles and still some left i think but already gassed up.
@@rtcivic
I ran out at 160 miles but only got in 13.76 liters, it was filled on the side stand to the bottom of the filler neck.
Maybe it has to be filled to the top.
250 miles
Truth is that the tank is too small and fuell reserve blink too early. This 2 things make ride annoing. And nothing will change it. Yamaha enginers are noobs and want big payment for that. I dont need 22 litres in world raid and many caps, i want 19 litres, its normal tank, it would be so accuratelly, why you didint see it during tests? What happened with you? I dont want to talk about others mistakes in enginering this motorcycle. Owner t7 2022 here , the most pricey bike for what it offer. Yamaha, no thanks, never again. You are already 'chinese' manufacturer with known brand yamaha, you take money for bad motorcycles. My next bike will be something like Zontes brand. Or i will come back to honda.
Thanks
