Hey John I have the exact same car my car runs great when its cold when it get up to temp it stalls at stop lights etc.. could it be the TPS I also know it's burning hot to the touch
Did you ever find the issue? Mine seems to stall when slowing down and when I push the clutch in.
It used to be with my 02 you unplug you battery so the computer can relearn the new change.
This will help too. The only issue with these types of problems is that there’s a whole laundry list of shit that could be causing the problem at hand.

Disconect the battery and drain the internal battery memmory of the car and it might reset you throttle body positioning sensor

thats not a high idle thats just what the car idles at ive had 3 s197s and theyve idled at 1k rpm

2010 mustang 4.0 doesn’t have one
Looking into throttle body little engine is first thing you want to do when you have idling or RPM fluctuations/issues. That little engine goes out a lot making throttle butterflies stuck or partly open which mess up with RPMs. That happens especially when idling. Not always will throw a specific code for that. If throttle body little engine wasn't replaced at all or long time ago go and do it first. Every time I had idling problem it was that part. One from Oreillyauto seems to work the longest.

Any idea what i should do ? I have this problem mine stays at 1k rpms idling then ittl sound like its about to die then all of a sudden the idle comes back outta nowhere and also i have good mid to top range power but sometimes the power will just all of a sudden go away and its messing with the mpg im getting any suggestions
Do what he did here, and clean the air filter and change the fuel filter (located underneath the car on the driver side). If that doesn’t fix it, you could have a bad throttle position sensor but that should throw a code. Check to see if you have any engine codes.
My throttle body was like completely stuck to the intake manifold like it got melted on
My guess is that the pesky little alternator went up in smoke.
Mine o.e alternator caught fire.
You forgot to put all those electrical connectors back on.

@@agentone8511 This isnt for HP gain, this is to keep the car running right. Mine wasnt that dirty, so on mine there wasnt much of a difference.
dude 😆 replace that throttle body already lol. I replaced mine with the
ford performance replacement from American muscle. Brand new, cleaning not required
